Overall, works as well as the Roamio unit it communicates with. I had issues getting it to communicate with the Roamio at first but that was because the Roamio was purchased almost five years ago and uses different firmware. A simple call to TiVo support solved the problem. They instructed me on how to down-grade the firmware on the new unit so it would work with my Roamio. I took a star off the rating because Disney and Hallmark are not available Apps. I’m not sure if this is a function of the Roamio not having the ability or the Mini Lux but disappointed nonetheless. Roamio should have the ability to upgrade if that’s the case. The remote is as good as the one that came with the Roamio so I was very pleased by that. Overall a good unit. But pricey for just and extension unit.

It's ok if you're already stuck in the TiVo ecosystem. Besides netflix, which works well, apps are primitive, stuck on versions that are 5-10 years old. TiVo recently lost support for the HBO app. Plex still mostly works, but is technically unsupported and limited to only 720p. With the current consumer-hostile FCC leadership, mandatory cable card support has been nix'd, so cable providers could now kill Tivos at any time just by dropping cablecard support.

I love being able to record and watch recordings from my Mini. Some times it says it is not connected to my main Tivo and sometimes it says it is not connected to the internet or my internet is not working, and it is working on my main Tivo. The next time I turn on my tv with the mini hooked to it, it might be working. I am glad I have the main unit hooked up where I watch tv the most. I get several free movies on it with commercials.

Added to our network (hard wired) and setup was pretty easy. We wanted to use the old style menu system and had to "install" twice but that went smoothly as well. It dedicates one of the tuners from our Romeo and then only allows access to 3 tuners in stead of 4 but that is okay. TIVO MiniVOX works great.

Huge fan of the older Tivo products, the Minis can be used to reduce the amount of Cable or Verizon boxes to save on the amount of money paid to your cable provider every month! the Tivo experience is decent but could be better. This Mini is far superior to its predecessor, things stream well without freezing your TV, including YouTube. The search feature on the new Tivo boxes needs a new Tivo update because even if you choose to show only streaming items that are provided at no charge it still shows items that need to be paid for.

Works great as a workaround for a dead HDMI port on my Roamio w/lifetime service. Sits right on top of the other unit as opposed to extending capabilities into another room. This is a soon to be obsolete, overpriced-never on sale piece of hardware that serves a very specific purpose if you are in the Tivo ecosystem. In fact, it seems like I purchased the last one and has not been in stock since!

Great for the 4k, but a little disappointed as tivo has been having a lot of issues with black screen problems (with all minis and units I own) recently and been going on for a month. May be switching back to cable provider tuners soon.

Love having TiVo in another room and love not having to pay monthly fee to cable company for monthly box rental.

Works great to extend the TiVo experience. Easy to setup. A little high priced considering its an additional device, and doesn't work on its own. Also, don't tell you up front that it won't work without a direct internet connection or an extra adapter

I should have picked one (or more) of these up sooner. If you have a TiVo, this is a great add-on to have TiVo services on another TV and not have to pay the additional service fees.

good product, a little expensive. used to be (last year) $50 less. Don't know why they raised the price so mush.

While it may be great for most it doesn’t work in a bulk services account where the internet’s access is controlled by WiFiman connections

Waste of money and time, Trust Me! Worst experience!

we have a tivo in the living room and it records shows to watch and recently i been wanting to see them at night in bed. bought this (with the tivo adapter i suggest getting that) and it connects to the main box and i can watch tv and watch recordings base on that connection makes it super easy to watch without running cable or wires all about the house it was a no brainer
