Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the ease of use and the quality of food produced by the 6-Quart Air Fryer Lid. Many appreciate its air frying capabilities and the space-saving design, allowing them to combine functions in one appliance. A common concern, however, centers around the limited cooking capacity. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and food quality outweighs the negative comments regarding capacity.

Overall it is a pretty good purchase when you don't have the space for a dedicated air fryer. It cooks evenly and quickly -- I just wish you didn't have to stop everything to check on doneness. It has a rather small capacity though using the 2nd tier tray helps, but it is a hassle to remove if you need to turn things half-way. I don't like that the cord forces you to unplug whatever it next to it. All this being said, we're using the air fryer feature much more often than the instant pot itself.

Love it! I now cook most everything in my instant pot now. If you cook for one or two then this is perfect. The lid extends the basic instant pot to baking, crisping, broiling + air frying. It's all I need. Fav is cooking a whole chicken at high pressure 35 mins then the lid change and broiling at 15 mins. Moist crispy and easy! Get one!

First time owning an air fryer do not a lot of experience. But it is really easy to use and the food tastes great without frying. My only complaint would be capacity. You only get about two servings of fries at a time

Very easy to use, cooks quickly and works fantastic. Only tricky part is finding good info on cook times for different things - it doesn't really tell you anything in the instructions and times I've found online seem to vary - so you'll have to do some testing and practice with some items to figure out best time and temps. So we started a page that we keep track of what we cooked with time and temps for future use. So far have done lots of wings, did crispy cauliflower, hashbrowns, jalapeno poppers, cheese curds, all turned out fantastic! Nice and crispy like they were fried, but without the oil!

I love this item, since I already had the pot. I use my air fryer often and I love that I’m saving space in my kitchen for just adding the lid.

I first dipped a toe into "air frying" with a cheap barrel-shaped oven that is a common design among air fryers, and I was impressed at how quickly it was able to bring a crisp or caramelized effect to foods. I wasn't too impressed with the space it took up, vertically and otherwise, nor am I crazy about kitchen appliances that are only brought out to do one task, so I've spent the years since trying various toaster ovens that claim to be able to air fry. Some accomplish this in ways that come close to the speed of a dedicated air fryer, but none which I've used are as slow as this fryer lid. I've done several batches of frozen fries with it, but it always takes longer than recommended to bring a crisp texture to them; comparable to oven baking, but with a much smaller capacity. The Instant Pot itself is a nice tool to have, making pressure cooking, which is speedy and often a one-pot meal solution, an approachable experience to a lot of people. I get why so many people seem to be Instant Pot fans. Furthermore, I understand that the fryer lid is handy if you want to brown meats or something, and prepare everything in one pot. But as an air fryer, it lags behind the better convection toaster ovens, which I get use out of every day, and it lacks the capacity of a regular stove. It's priced comparably to an entry-level air fryer, which I think would do a more efficient job. I can't imagine this would be a necessity to anyone with a stove, unless they were so in love with their Instant Pot that they can't imagine using anything else.

This saved me space on the counter compared to the buying a separate air fryer. Some downsides are the small capacity of the basket it came with and the lid is on the heavy side.

Works OK but with few things to be improved: 1) Non-Stick coating pilled after first use. 2) Can not see the food you are cooking. 3) Kinda heavy for everyday use. 4) Inner basket, its base and pot must be washed after every use - good to keep them clean but bad if you just want to be lazy for once. 5) Kida small even for two people. 6) It still take up lots spaces when stored, so might pay less to buy a stand along air fryer.

I'm a huge fan of the air fryer lid, because it's easy to use, does what I expect of it, and quick clean-up. I found a lot of recipes online which was very helpful. Some trial and error when first starting out, but found that it was better to use less time, check the food, then reset if more time is needed. Highly recommend for everyone!

I just love my 6 qt. Instant Pot and use it at least once a week, sometimes much more. I recently became quite curious about air fryers and started reading about them. I have no desire to find a place to store another appliance though. Then I found the IP air fryer lid and it is my dream come true! It works great, but the basket is small as other reviewers have noted. This product will not disappoint otherwise.

Turns an older Instant Pot into a decent air fryer

This air fryer lid turns an older Instant Pot into a true jack of all trades - for those of you with limited space, this is a great alternative to buying an actual air fryer. Big pros are mainly that 1) it works well as an air fryer and 2) clean-up is extremely easy as the stainless steel pot can be put in the dishwasher, along with most other parts (except the lid of course!). Cons are mainly the limited capacity of the Instant Pot (if you want to cook a side of french fries for a family of four, you may have to do two batches). Despite this, the air fryer lid remains a good value in my mind - I'd recommend it.

I was hesitant to purchase this based on other reviews stating it wasn’t necessary or that it takes up too much space. I already owned an air fryer but hadn’t purchased it myself so I figured what the heck and gave it a try. I LOVE this product! I use my IP ALLLL the time and love that I don’t have to pre-heat an oven and can save on dishes. It doesn’t take up too much space compared to a stand alone air fryer. Recipes on Pinterest or online is sparse for this specific product but since it’s newer to the market I suspect (at least I hope!) they will increase in the near future. If you’re an IP lover and still thinking about it my suggestion would be to go for it and see for yourself!

Bought this because I was looking for an air fryer. Recommended by a friend so looked and ended up buying. The short of it - it does air fry. The size of it isn’t space saving. It is about half the height of a 6 qt pressure cooker. Diameter is the same as a 6 qt pressure cooker. It does work with the insignia 6 qt pressure cooker. But you need to use to use it with a stainless pot. Didn’t know until I received the product. Got this on sale then had to fork out more money for the pot. Ended up spending more than what a large size air fryer would’ve cost. Look for alternative unless you have to have this product.

A great first start with air fry. So simple to use, many abilities I haven’t tried yet but looking forward to trying everything with this lid. The chicken tenders come out nice and crunchy on the crusts, chicken stays moist

I am glad I bought this air fryer lid, since then I have eaten all possible oil fried food in a healthy air fry way without any guilt. I love to roast chicken and grill fish in this. Making kebabs and cutlets very easy and quick with beautiful crisp.

This is a good product and works as advertised. I have the stand alone vortex plus air fryer and feel that is a better use of the money, but if you don’t want to add another small appliance this lid is fine. I was also a little surprised it didn’t work with the wi-fi instant pot 6 quart. Just make sure before you purchase it’s compatible with your version of instant pot, I didn’t even think to check that ( luckily we have 2 instant pots and it was compatible with our other one).

It works beautifully and quickly. It fries without oil, just fine. If you fry food that has oil in it already, be careful. It collects on the coils at the base of the lid. It's hard to clean the tiny wells at the bottom of the basket. It works great, though. I've even baked bread with it, and the taste of the food is spot on. Frozen food like wings, nuggets, fries, and pizza are always a success.
