It was a good movie a bit sad, though. However, I do not believe that this movie was intended for young children, although it gives the impression that it is, just by looking at the picture in the video. Children will not get the meaning behind it, plus it would be too sad for them. I believe this is a movie is for people sixteen and older.

Not so sure if I would say for all ages....don't think think I would want my younger children watching because of the content and premise of the whole movie....but for something that seems to be geared towards a younger audience it was actually quite good

Local store pickup was awesome. Fast, accurate, friendly and professional cashier. Great low price for BLU-RAY on day of release. A Monster Calls is heartwarming and a tear jerker depicting how a child deals with eventually losing ones Mother to cancer. This movie helped me cope with the loss of my Mom to skin and breast cancer. A+++

This movie caught my attention because of the trailer that showed a talking tree. Even though I didn't know any actors in the movie except the voice of the tree (which is Liam Neeson) it kept me interested in the story and really enjoyed it.

More of a serious film than I was expecting. Never really saw a trailer or read anything about it including the synopsis. Blind buy simply because Liam Neeson is in it. Have yet to dislike any of his films I've seen.

An emotional telling of a child trying to cope with his mother that is dying from Cancer. My Dad and I watched this movie together after losing my Mom from breast and skin Cancer. This movie was so well told and portrayed that it helps us cope with our own loss. Highly recommend this movie to all. A+++

I bought this movie for my future ex-wife for her birthday. she never got to watch this movie in the theater and I surprised her with it for her birthday. she loves the movie so you have to take her word for it. I haven't watched this movie i'm waiting for her to let me borrow it so I can watch it..

This is a beautiful film. It's an incredibly sweet and heartwarming story that's very well made and well told. It's in a similar vein to Pan's Labyrinth I suppose but this is a must-see that was severely under-promoted and underappreciated. I love this and was easily one of my favorite films of 2016,

This movie was fantastic. It will take you on an emotional journey and make you think about what's important in life. The characters are 3 dimensional and the story is beautiful and sad. This is what film making is all about. Hats off to the cast and everyone involved in creating this work of art.

A troubled boy has nightmares of a monster while he deals with his mother's illness. Well made and not too melancholy. It's a good story, but, don't watch it alone. It's sad. I recommend with caution.

This movie was Awesome! it was filled with lessons from life and the kids didn't realize it until our discussion after the movie. The graphics were awesome. There were some sad moments as well as some startling moments. I found the movie quite entertaining and interesting.

It was a Great movie. However, it needs to be a better ending. Understand in live not everything are peachy. However, I believe sometimes we escape to the film for the positive end.... HOPE!

This movie was very different in content. I would not recommend it for children, it may cause nightmares. I would not recommend this particular movie for my friends who have small children.

The book brought me to tears but the movie failed to do so. They couldn't capture the raw emotion of the boy like the book did but overall I did enjoy the movie adaption for what it was.

A Monster Calls is a movie for all, while also providing emotional challenges and tribulations for them to over come. In that it can be a learning tool for kids in life and the challenges that may come their way, some being more extreme than others.

The story left me a bit cold, but I enjoyed the performances & the visuals impressed me. My expectations going in might have been too high, but this was pretty good.

Sad, poignant, with tremendous visual effects. A boy is visited by a Monster who will tell him there's stories, which will force the boy to face his nightmares.

If you want to have a good cry, this movie is just what the doctor ordered. Recommended for fans of emotionally challenging movies.

I read the book and I recommend others to read it first. The film is very emotional, just watch it after reading the book.

The idea is interesting and presented with proper respect but be aware that the plot is very sad might leave you a little dissatisfied.
