With two exceptions, this movie is a pleasure to watch. What are the two exceptions? First, the very first opening guitar solo. Hard rock, screeching, and annoying. I almist removed the DVD right then. It was way totally out of place in a soundtrack that was amazingly good. Second, it's difficult for me to sit through a movie when you know from the very start that the lead actor is descending toward a drug/alcohol laced ending. That really bums me out, especially where, as here, both leads are so likeable. Other than that, i really enjoyed this movie and the wonderful performances of Cooper and Gaga. (Reall?). The music was terrific, with one exception and the supporting cast strong. I didn't even recognize Andrew Dice Clay. Sam Elliot did a good Sam Elliot. What else can you say. Solid move. Good romantic storyline, enjoyable music, smart cinematography, and really impressive acting for the Gaga.

It should be obvious that Lady Gaga has talent and can carry a film, as long as it lets her highlight her music. It’s hard to imagine anyone complaining about the delivery of musical entertainment from Bradley Cooper and, certainly, Lady Gaga. I would have liked actually hearing a few more songs, and having the musical performances extend longer. I’d guess you’re going to enjoy the film. All that said, I draw the line at Best Picture of this or any other year. It’s a simple story, with minimal conflict, and a story arc that is as predictable as the tide. Did the characters grow or change because of anything they did, or because of luck? Watching Gaga-level talent rise to the top isn’t a surprise. Watching an alcoholic . . . well . . see for yourself.. The picture quality is stunning and the music presentations are concert quality intense. Go for the 4k, ‘cause this is what it’s designed for.

Normally this movie probably wouldn't be the type of movie I'd be very interested in. However, all of the hoopla generated by this movie got my attention. Miss Gaga and Mr. Cooper certainly showed great rapport with each other. Most of the musical numbers were very good as well as the "Shallow" number. The movie kept my interest throughout although I did have to watch it a couple of times because I had a difficult time understanding some of the dialog due to so much noise and music in the back round.

Bet most of you didn't know that over the years there has been 4 movies made of A Star is Born. First one was in 1937 Starring Janet Gaynor & Frederic March;The 2nd was in 1954 with Judy Garland, and James Mason. The 3rd 1976 Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand. Have you missed the Best.? Not At All, I've seen all 4 and this latest edition with Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper is not to be Missed. It is a real Show Stopper and at the Top of My Favorites. Hope You Enjoy your copy from Best Buy.

I will be honest...when I heard they were remaking A Star Is Born again for the fourth time I wanted to vomit. Im one that loves new concepts and ideas not remakes of old material - because they usually end up being terrible. A Star Is Born is the exception to that rule. I loved everything about this film- to its acting, directing, cinematography, and editing. What a breath of fresh air to see so much life put into an otherwise bland boring been there done that screenplay! A must see!

I've seen this movie 3 times in 4 days when it first came out. Seeing again tonight with 12 extra minutes of footage. The best this sounds is in Dolby Atmos, since I have that at home, it sounds even better than it did in the theater. Sound is awesome Picture is clear. WIsh there were more bonus features. The original movie was 2.5 hours. They are releasing an encore edition in theaters for one week, which means they will probably release another version and I will have to buy it.

I didn't get a chance to see this movie in the theaters, so thought I would get the Blu-ray to see the reason why people were speaking so highly of this film. I really enjoyed this movie. The story, writing, acting and the chemistry between Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga was great (believable)! The pacing of this movie from beginning to end was well done. Bradley Cooper also did a great job as the director and he was one of the screenwriters of this movie.

Now this is about the 4th reboot/remake of this Movie where the 1st version was from the 1930’s-1940’s era in Black & White. However this version with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga was such a phenomenal duet combo relationship where it was stellar brilliance performance! Now this Encore Edition has even more Songs also Scenes as what They didn’t show in the Theaters so I highly recommend to add/buy own this Encore Edition version of A Star Is Born!!!

This is an outstanding film! Bradley Cooper Co-wrote, acted in, and directed this 3rd remake of a classic. The difference between this installment and the earlier films is that this version is earthier and grounded in todays world. Lady Gaga proves that she is an excellent actor as well as a great singer-songwriter. Just watching her is worth the price of the film. Bradley Cooper turns in his usual brilliant performance. You must see this film.

A Star Is Born encompasses many deep human emotions. It provides one with a wonderful insight into the background of a singer's stage along with providing one with a sense of what it feels like to sing in front of a huge crowd as well as the immense power coming from the crowd. It gives one courage to put out the continued effort to overcome obstacles along the road to accomplish one's dreams. A beautiful emotional movie so well put together.

Had not seen ANY of the movies...so before we watched Lady Gaga we screened all 3 of the predecessors - and it was a wonderful experience to see how the SAME story has evolved since 1937!! I was happy to discover that this latest reincarnation is every bit as good as the others, and maybe even a little bit better. All were wonderful in their own right, and this latest version may be the leader of the pack.

In case you didn't know, this is the 4th time this movie has been remade but since I've never seen the 3 previous, I had no idea what this movie was about other than the previews so, in my opinion, it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It was a love story born from a dream coming true for one person while the other struggles with his demons while being in the spotlight. Just a great movie from start to finish.

I wanted to see this movie before the Academy Awards show and had less than a week to do it! The movie was no longer playing in my neighborhood and when I looked online to see if I could get it, the DVD and bonus features DVD showed up at Best Buy for a great price. I bought it online and picked it up in store a few hours later. Very happy experience and the movie is a knockout!! Love it! Thank you Best Buy!

Occasionally the Mrs. requires me to buy and watch romantic movies with her. I love both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, so I was all in for this one. This movie didnt disappoint and it was the second time that I watched this since I previously purchased and watched the 4K version. It was worth the 2nd trip even if it was just for more concert footage with the dynamic duo. Worth the purchase.

A Star is born staring Bradley Cooper and Lady GaGa is the 4th version of this story and happens to be the best executed by far... the original music paired with the talents is the two stars make this a must watch film. Academy award for best song in a movie makes it a timeless classic you will want to watch over and over.

OH MM GEE, where do I begin! This movies is outstanding!!! It was welcomely added to another one of my utmost favorite movies. Along with the Notebook and The Color Purple! I know it is just a movie but I wish that Jack could of lived so that him and Aly could forever be happy! We all go through tough times in our lives and he was doing so good after he went to rehab.... #TeamJacksonAndAlyMaine

Well this is a review I never thought I would write!! Saw this in the theater and wasn't too thrilled. I think I actually fell asleep. So when I saw it was cheap for Black Friday - I figured I would give it another shot. I LOVED IT!!!!!! Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have such amazing chemistry! It was soo fun to watch them and hear them sing!!! I am excited to watch it again!!!

First off I am a huge Bradley Cooper fan. This movie was one of the best I seen in 2018. I have great admiration and respect when actors/actresses direct and star in their movie. Lady Gaga did a wonderful job and has a future for sure in acting. Overall the acting, music, cinematography was excellent. Its a shame the academy didn't recognize this in other categories besides the soundtrack.

I have been waiting for "A Star is Born" to come out on blu-ray ever since I saw the movie on the big screen (twice). This version was well worth the wait. The quality of the picture and the sound do justice to the movie. The Best Buy exclusive Steelbook and the included special features make this an especially appreciated product. This is a movie I will enjoy watching many, many times.

So we probably all have seen the movie by now...but this review is more toward the transfer into 4k. Great picture and sound. Bright and contrasty even with HDR. Color is lifelike and vibrant. Skin tones are realistic. The sound is great....the concerts sound very live and lots of action in surrounds bringing you into the movie. Def a disc that will get multiple viewings.
