This is a movie about an English school teacher who doesn't much care for his job, is socially awkward, and can't seem to catch a break. Aliens are debating whether or not Earth society is worth saving and they grant this teacher extraordinary powers to see if he will use them in a worthy manner. Of course, he doesn't. The girl he is trying to woo has dated this obnoxious American army colonel who figures out the teacher's powers and forces him to use it for evil. Hilarity ensues. Simon Pegg is great. Robin Williams delivers a wonderful performance the voice of his pet dog. Very fun movie.
