Customers are saying

Customers regard the Acer 27" IPS LED monitor highly for its picture quality, refresh rate, and ease of use, frequently praising its value for the price. Many appreciate the monitor's size and color accuracy, though some find the stand somewhat unstable and the lack of built-in speakers and additional HDMI ports to be drawbacks. The absence of a DisplayPort connection was also noted as a shortcoming by some users. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and affordability outweighs the negative comments regarding the monitor's accessories and connectivity options.

This is review of Acer KA272 Ebi 27” IPS LED Free Sync Monitor. At glance, It allows maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080, refresh rate of 100hz, display type LED and panel type IPS. It has 1 HDMI Input and 1 VGA. As per its specification, its purpose is for gaminig, but after the usage and testing as non heavy gamer, the display suffice the entry to average gaming experience I would say. Then for movie and regular task reading document, navigating web sites the display does its job. Its setting from the display can access via buttons on the rear right side of the display. Multiple buttons consisting of four, from which one of them is different in the form of alike a mouse joystick making easy to access. Upon pressing it appears on the right bottom side the menu options to adjust brightness, level of led among others and to remark it has nice set of defaults for low light, lower level of blue light, or for movie and standard. These comes handy as a start point if need to customize each of the options as are easy to access. The only thing about these buttons as downside I can tell is the power off/display off button that is same as rest, as result takes couple of time to get used to it if need to turn off frequently. On the note to the graphic and resolution, in general I can say it is smooth and up to the what is normal today in most of displays for the entry level display. It doesn’t make feel wow but neither the opposite, and still good enough to enjoy playing or watching move. One curiosity to remark, the display specification states includes w speakers of 2w optional. And the display does include speakers at the bottom each side. Then as connections to the notebook, the windows audio system does show the driver for the display. However, upon changing to it, can’t hear any. Based on the manual, there seems an optional audio input that need to be connected with the notebook. But the model I am reviewing doesn’t have it, I couldn’t’ find it. But having it connected with HDMI cable, kind of I am lean to think it should work, but I couldn’t make it work at least for the period of usage for this review. And as minor detail that I think it is not important for gamer, the rear side of the display has the holes made for the wall mounting support. To conclude, the display does give smooth and clear images, good resolution and more than enough for every day task and gaming experience. But not enough for the heavy gamer due to is refresh rate being limited to 100hz. But again, good for entry level to average users or kids playing games that doesn’t take too much of resolution and refresh rate.

Very impressed for $120 dollars. Bought for my second gaming rig. Nice bright saturated colors, and really great blacks especially with it being ips. Haven’t used an ips monitor in years, but hardly any glow. The 100hz is perfectly smooth to my eyes, actually kind of like it better then my 165 VA monitor because there’s no ghosting. I would actually recommend this over other displays if you’re running something like a 2060/3060 or a 6600xt. Good job Acer. Only complaints would be for one the stand. Very wobbly and takes up too much desk space, but most people are using some sort of desk mount nowadays anyway so not really a huge issue. Second one would be no DisplayPort. Really only a problem if you’re going for a dual monitor setup because for whatever reason GPUs are only shipping with 1 hdmi port as of late which I don’t really understand. Luckily adapters are available for fairly cheap. Still would highly recommend.

The Acer - KA272 Ebi 27" IPS LED FreeSync Monitor is a nice, budget friendly entry level monitor. While it's listed as a "gaming monitor", it's probably better for the casual gamer and not the hardcore competitive gamer. That said, it is NOT a bad choice, but it does not have the 4/8K that some hardcore gamers would prefer. But it is Full HD. Another decent feature, the refreshrate is a solid 100Hz. 60Hz is generally decent for casual gaming and internet surfing. The 100Hz is even better. Again, the hardcore gamers would generally prefer 120/240/360Hz rates but the casual user would not really see any difference. From box to fully assembled was maybe 3 or minutes. Grab base, attach stand, tighten single screw and attach monitor. Simple. At 27", it has plenty of real estate. Easy to see from multiple angles and bright at 25 candela PSM, it was easily bright enough to be seen in my West facing (see pics) office. It has 1 HDMI input and one VGA. Another might be nice for some folks, but for a basic gamer/PC monitor, its perfectly fine. Another nice feature is the 3 year manufacturer warranty. Would reccomend registering it for best support. End of the day, this is a great monitor for everyday use and casual gaming, especially for the price.

    A Great Hybrid Monitor

I was looking for a nice monitor to be able to use in my classroom, my current monitor is definitely past it’s prime, and this fit what I needed perfectly. I’ve been testing it out at home in my office while I work from home during the summer, but this will be going right in to my class as soon as the new school year starts in a couple of weeks. Size is great, 27” is a nice sweet spot for using in my class. It offers enough space to be able to pin some windows side by side with still being able to see plenty of info each window. The 1080p HD resolution, fast refresh rate, 100Hz, and really small bezels, really make everything look great. Text is easy to read, images and graphics really pop. I was working on a project that had me working with large spreadsheets, and formatting tables for reports; the wide, crisp screen really came in handy for this. Now, I have to be honest here and say that while I love this monitor for work, another reason I was excited to start using this was for gaming. I run some AAA games on here as well. I connect my ASUS ROG G14(2023) RTX4060 gaming laptop to it, and I love the way the games look. Refresh rate works well, graphics are clean. I played the new Diablo 4, WoW, some Fortnite, and CoD. Everything looked great on this screen. I primarily use a ASUS Chromebook for work, it runs ona AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor with integrated graphics card and this looks great for work as you might expect. I am able to run some games like Minecraft on this, as well as some Cloud Gaming through XBox and Nvidia. Everything looks fantastic on this monitor. This is a great monitor that won’t break the bank. Screen is nice and large, everything looks great, and refresh rate does a good job for gaming. 1080p is a great resolution for just about everything. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a hybrid monitor for office work, and gaming. I’ve really enjoyed using this over the lasts week and a half.

BEST IN PRICE RANGE – INTRO GAMING MONITOR / OFFIC

ACER - KA272 EBI 27" IPS LED FREESYNC MONITOR (HDMI, VGA) BEST IN PRICE RANGE – INTRO GAMING MONITOR / OFFICE MONITOR The Acer KA272 EBI is definitely the best “bang” for the buck. The IPS panel has a nice wide viewing angle and good overall picture quality. The 27 inch screen provides a good size for gaming and office applications. A 100hz refresh rate is well above other monitors in this range. I had no problems driving the monitor at 100hz and synced 100fps. I have no issue recommending this monitor for a good budget gaming experience. My rating is a reflection of price to performance. There is no point comparing this monitor to one costing 10-20X more as that is not the target market. PROs - Large Bright (enough) 27 Inch IPS screen - NO POWER BRICK (direct plug in) - Easy to access menu buttons - 3 Year Warranty CONs - None at this price point SOME ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS This is the best monitor I’ve seen at this price point. Depending upon your point of view, for a small additional investment (about 20% more) you can acquire the next level up ACER monitor that includes Display Port and a higher refresh rate. Because there is not a display port and the HDMI is 2.0 (instead of 2.1) Modern NVIDIA cards won’t recognize the monitor as GSYNC compatible. Again, it is not advertised as GSYNC compatible and basic Vertical Synchronization will still work. No points off, just something you might want to know about. SUMMARY This would make a great office monitor, everyday monitor, or budget gaming monitor.

The Acer 27” IPS LED FHD 100Hz 1ms FreeSync Monitor is a budget-friendly option for users looking for solid performance at a competitive price. Its standout features include a 1080p resolution with IPS panel technology, a fast 1ms response time, and a 100Hz refresh rate that supports AMD FreeSync for smoother visuals during gaming and other activities. The image quality is sharp and vibrant, and the monitor's matte finish reduces glare effectively. This monitor is ideal for those who prioritize value and functionality over premium build quality, making it a strong contender for budget-conscious buyers looking for good gaming and general-purpose performance.

Acer is a very decent manufacturer for all kinds of computer hardware. From fully built systems to monitors and components, there isn't much Acer isn't doing. I'm no stranger to their products as I have owned - and still own - some of their hardware. Let's see how the KA272 performs. First the pros and cons: Pros: + Budget friendly + 27" size is good for most tasks + Matte screen which reduces glare and reflections + 100Hz refresh rate @ 1080p + Freesync compatible + Nice glossy finish + Good image quality and colors + Comes with all cables you might need + Setup is easy and intuitive (plug and play) + VESA mount compatible Cons: - Only 2 types of connections (HDMI and VGA), but no display port - Glossy finish is nice but is a fingerprint magnet - Base and stand feel flimsy - Image is good but could be better for an IPS screen - Settings menu is a bit hard to navigate If you're looking for a low-cost, 27" Freesync gaming monitor, the KA272 could be a good choice. Same goes if you play in 1080p, this screen won't disappoint and the high refresh rate will help make the rendering smoother than other monitors in this price segment. As it is a more affordable screen, it comes with some downsides. The main issues are the connections which omit a Display Port entirely and the rather bland image rendering. It certainly isn't the perfect screen, but if you're on a budget and you need a good monitor, go for it.

I bought two of these and mounted them both using standard vesa monitor arms instead of the included stands. Set up was easy and the included HDMI cables are nice enough and deliver the full 100hz at 1080p. The monitor has a pretty standard built in menu for settings and the joystick like button makes navigating this menu really easy. I mounted one monitor above the other one and flipped the top monitor upside down so the bezels between the monitors would be thinner. Despite being upside down, the top monitor still has the same excellent viewing angles. It would be nice if it had more than one HDMI port, but for the price, this monitor is an excellent value.

This was an awesome monitor for my eldest son's gaming setup, having been an increase in quality. The refresh rate of the monitor was an instant improvement over those seen in the market, being much more satisfying to the eyes and easier to track movements according to my son.

Great, for its size. Just what I needed. Plug and play, I didn't feel any need to further adjust any of the settings. I run a weekly meeting with a zoom component and we use this connected to the meeting laptop so those in the meeting room can better see those who have joined via zoom. This was a better solution than a projector because we couldn't make the room dark and didn't have a good wall to project to.

Monitor quality keeps improving. I come from the CRT monitor era. But I continue to evolve, always looking for deals and better computer monitors. I'm a software developer. I use my different notebooks (9 Windows, 2 Apples) for different projects. I keep some with older OS's for testing, others for the differing software and hardware projects I'm working on. In most situations I prefer a multiple monitor setup, almost always having a 24-27" monitor next to the notebook I'm using (when I travel I have 2 USB portable monitors). I pretty much can work without a second monitor. This Acer is light (14 lbs with stand), it has almost no bezel (allowing 2 to be used close together) and the colors are spectacular. I was surprised how vivid this monitor is. It supports a 75Hz refresh rate, which is fine for all but the most extreme gaming situation. Its display is extremely steady, no flickering. It offers Acer "VisionCare" which reduces potentially harmful blue light emissions. I thoroughly enjoyed watching (most) videos on this display. This is strictly a 1920x1080 HD monitor, not a 2K or 4K display. It does not support HDR (extended blackness, mostly having to do with video), yet its blacks are acceptable and its colors exceptional. The monitor stand offers only a tilt adjustment (no height, it can't use in portrait mode with the stand provided. But it does have 4 vesa mounting holes on the back (which is very flat). The screen has an exceptional matte finish, offering almost no glare. I personally prefer this finish on my monitors. The screen can be connected via HDMI and VGA (which might be convenient for some for backward compatibility). This is not the highest performing monitor you could purchase, but for its price you get a very high quality product. It makes a great extension monitor. The only thing I noticed was that it's black on some dark videos were not as precise as they could have been. But for day to day use it's great monitor.

I tried it with a old RX-580 8GB in a Dell Desktop, GTX1050ti in Asus Ryzen 7 TUF laptop. Even a Nitro 5 with a GPU with 4GB. All looked Great ! Mike R.
