I needed a laptop for only a few reasons; working on Excel spreadsheets for business, storage of photos, surfing the web and checking email. I don't game or use other significant software on it. I needed inexpensive but not "cheap". Color/resolution is impressive. Keyboard is thin and depressed a bit such that my fingers are not used to it from my PC. Wish it didn't come with all the pre-loaded junk...like a cell phone when you get it new...half the stuff you'll never use.

This laptop performed pretty much as described. However, it is a less expensive model and for the last five years I have used a more expensive model. I kept this laptop for a little more than a week, but I really missed the "extras" that the more expensive laptops offer. So for now, I'm still using my 2010 laptop. However, I think this would be great product if you don't mind not having features like lighted number and cap locks or the smoothness of a high quality keyboard that hits every letter every time. Also, it wasn't any faster than my old laptop.

Bought as gift for relative who is a basic PC user. Quick set up and Win10 runs fine. Slightly slower due to smaller 4 GB RAM. Basic speakers but still better than my Toshiba laptop. For $199 on sale, it couldn't be beat!

I was looking for a cheap laptop with Windows 10 and I found it. It seems heavy and too big for easy travel but the price was right $250.00. I must of done something because in less than a week, it was loaded with malware and pop ups telling me I need to call Microsoft. I took it to the geek guys at best buy and they wanted $99 to fix it. I only had it a week so I could return it and buy a new one. The geek guy said I could do that or just reset the computer. The geek guy wrote instructions down on how to reset the computer, said he would have to charge me if he did it but it was ok to show me. I reset it and computer seems OK. It seems a little slow and sometimes Cortana, the voice thing was not responding. I just wanted something cheap to check my email when traveling and this thing does that. One Drive was in it, which allows me to save things in the cloud, I tried saving on my desktop and accessing from the new laptop but it was a hassle as the new laptop does not have word or excel. So I down loaded Word 2016 ($120)and it works a lot better. The laptop does not have any Office programs so you need to buy it if you want it. There is a learning curve going from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Would have been nice to also have touch screen capability but then you got to pay more.

A solid laptop for a low cost. Windows 10 takes a little getting used to, but all in all easy to navigate. At times a little slower than I like, but I have found that occurs with any device using windows

I am Very satisfied With its 15.6 big screen. I bought inexpensive hdmi cable to hook with my big screen tv. Now i have a smart tv! This laptop costs $50 more at amazon after going on sale at best buy so i bought it . Been streaming you tube and movies online effortlessly with its 2g ram it beat using firestick which easily ran out of ram. Windows 10 rocks with its built in virus protection. I also downloaded chrome browser and its free vpn extension and ad blocker, just wow. As an app developer i confidently installed jdk, android studio, etc and been running cordova. Great for running multi programs at same time. With windows 10 already installed, im happy for buying it at best buy for 200 bucks.

when a determining factor is cost, as in low cost, you have to expect less than the best. that goes for anything you purchase. with that in mind, this laptop was a pleasant surprise. i'll never know what a top of the line laptop can do, so i have nothing to compare my purchase to, except that it does do what i need.

I got this laptop for general purpose use. It's great. Easy set up and easy to navigate. Great laptop for the price!

I was looking for a new laptop to replace my old Compaq CQ60, which was overheating. I looked at compatible priced laptops, but this acer for 199.00 fit the bill. Very please, and it comes with windows 10!

I cannot say enough about this product. I was looking for a low cost option for home use. I had an Acer Aspire at work and loved how it worked. The product I bought had Windows 10, CD tray, places to plug in printers and flash drives, etc. The setup was simple. It is a great product and I cannot recommend it highly enough. For me it was a perfect fit.

I cannot find anything negative to say about it. Setup quick and easy and Windows 10 is a blessing compared the Windows 8 machine this one replaced

I bought it when there was a holiday discount. For a cheap laptop like this, the performance is acceptable although once in a blue moon it hangs for a while before continuing. Luckily got this for normal Internet browsing!

The computer is a bargain for its price, it does all the basic needs. We are using it to basically act as a playback device for a monitor and is always on.

I got this for my son. He's in middle school and is always on it playing little games on it. Its not a gaming computer but good for what he does. It runs smooth and doesn't lag. Came with windows 10 already and didn't have to wait on update or register for it. Good computer not great.

Basic type of setting. Easy to use. Not so complicated. Ideal for simple users.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom. Definitely good for her speed, considering her previous laptop was about 7-8 years old. Could use more RAM. The touchpad needs better delineation between left click / right click / scroll. Wish the keyboard lit up.

I wanted a basic laptop computer for my child who is a junior in high school that might carry her a year or two into college (we make our computers last as long as reasonably possible at our house). We have had the computer for about 8 months. So far, it has performed as expected. We did have an issue recently with a bad Windows 10 update (presumably, as no malware was found), but since we have a Geek Squad annual contract, and the item was also still under warranty, we were able to take the computer in to Best Buy and get the operating system reinstalled to clear up the issue at no additional charge. Fortunately, my child already had some of her items stored in the cloud and we were able to back up the other items without incident before doing the factory reset. The computer still functioned almost normally through the whole issue, which I think is pretty good considering experiences I have had with older models. We just could not clear up the error without the factory reset. I would recommend this computer for student use or a similar application without hesitation.

It was finally time to upgrade from Windows XP. The laptop I had could not handle the new Windows 10 OS without a serious hardware upgrade. When I found the great price on this Acer at Best Buy I figured it was too good to be true for the price. With the Windows 10 pre-installed and 4GB RAM this computer will last me another 10 years. There has been no problems with the computer and the speed increase is great!

A good computer for the price. It is very easy to use.

This is my recommendation: 1 Just uninstall all "extra-free" software 2. Replace regular hard drive with Samsung SSD With a total investment from 290 to 330 (depends how much you pay for laptop and SSD) you will get very good laptop
