Bought this computer for mom to use for emails and printing work stuff. Runs good and was easy to use and set up. Only problem was that a few months after buying it received two nasty viruses even with Amit virus protection

Great price, did ALOT of online comparison and ordered it online. In store pick-up (took 4-ever!) get home, power it up, start initial setup, get to "meet Cortana" (which I was going to skip) looked away for a moment and the screen was blue. The cursor moved but that's it. So I rebooted & it powered up screen blue and now flickered like a strobe light. This was not refurbished, it was brand new. Took it back the next day and got an upgrade (LenovoG50)

I bought this laptop to replace another Acer Aspire I have had for 6 years, it still works but has started to get hung up frequently. I saw this was on sale for cheap $199! Figured I couldn't go wrong. The brand proved it is durability to me.
Set up was very easy, if you are going to use the free trial version of office remove it before installing your full version.
The great: Price, 400MB/500MB, DVD Drive, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB 2.0 and 3.0, SD card slot, built in mic, Battery Life is almost 8 hours!, pre-installed windows 10
The Middle: style and design, I like the feel and sound ok the keys, not crazy about the touch pad, almost like a trampoline for you fingers, there is no right and left button below the pad you can preform the action by clicking the pad in the bottom right and left corner, also when you do click on the pad you can feel a vibration do to the way they designed it, the touchpad is very responsive when you drag your finger across it, that does not cause vibration. Screen, well I haven't ever seen a laptop screen that looks perfect from every angle so I think it is fine, no complaints. The speakers are good, I can hear perfectly fine when the volume is set at 60 even with some background noise in the room.(Control volume goes up to 100)
This laptop feels fairly sturdy and solid there isn't any wiggle, jiggle or creaking when handling it.
The disappointing: The built in camera is not good, it's there but poor picture, quality reminds me that of a 1992 video camera with the little cassettes. LOL
Over all I don't really have a need for a video camera so I don't mind that it sucks, if you are looking for quality in that department this is not the laptop for you, the speed of this laptop is just fine a little quicker at opening new pages than my hubby's Dell Inspire 15 core i3 400MB/500MB we bought last year running windows 8 no personal files on it, which surprised me. I just wish they would have kept the old style of the touch pad with separate buttons without the spring board effect.
At regular price of $250 there are limited options that offer a complete laptop with real storage I am happy enough with my purchase. It has everything I needed.

Acer is a good brand, but when I ordered it I didn't notice that its processor was celeron, I would prefer a core i5 or i7.

It is like owning a $250 paperweight. Battery life is terrible, the screen wasn't working so I had to send the unit in for service. They made me pay for the shipping ($30) to get it repaired. Customer service is terrible. I will never buy any Acer product again!
