I bought this laptop because it seemed like a good deal for the price and the specs that it has. But I have three complaints about this laptop. 1) the screen isn't very good and you won't get that great of a screen on any laptop at this price. 2) the fan on this laptop will stop spinning for like 5 seconds and then turn back on if you just move the mouse. It was very irritating. 3) this laptop may not have a ton of bloatware compared to some laptops buts it's definitely still an issue and 100% ruins the experience of Windows 10 and all of Acers apps just get in the way of the operating system and that put me over the top so I decided to return it. But the laptop is pretty fast compared to a lot of other laptops in this price range, thank you ssd. If you are thinking of getting a Windows laptop I would look for one on the windows store that come with a clean version of Windows 10, that's what I will be doing from now on. You will have a much better experience if you do that.

Took two tries to get one of these which worked without issue. Initial one had SSD errors within 48 hours so did a hardware swap rather than have GS try to fix it. Replacement has worked w/o issues for 30 days. Had minor issue on getting image backup which Acer Tech support solved via chat. System has worked as a desk top replacement as well as a laptop. I've got 10 hours + running it with WiFi turned off as laptop. Actually it never reported less than 10 hours available after several hours of note taking so its actual battery life was probably greater than 10 hours. Overall I've had a great experience with it and it has proved to be quite responsive. Much easier to use than the year old Dell I had to replace and the Acer response was much better than the Asus which caused me to return that unit. SSD is definitely the way to go.

The main reasons we purchased this laptop is because of the SSD and price. The startup time is amazing and it absolutely completely quiet when running. when first starting to use it I would run the task manager often just to make sure it was running as you typically hear the hard drive working. windows 10 is another story as it is not my operating system of choice it takes time getting use to how it operates.

The product is overall pretty good. It is fast and responsive but sometimes it freezes and you have to exit out of programs and go back in. Also sometimes the tablet mode does not transfer over so you have to flip over 2-3 times to get the keyboard to come onto screen.

This laptop was a perfect fit for me. It was reasonably priced and light weight (I travel a lot) yet it also still had a good size screen and keyboard. It feels well made - better than some of the other laptops that I looked at which were light weight but felt cheap (despite higher cost.)

So I have had this laptop for about 1 month now and I love it! The 2-in 1 is so convenient. I love the fact that it can switch from laptop mode to tablet, to tent mode, and back to regular laptop mode with no hassle. The machine itself is very user friendly and the picture is great. The sound quality is not so impressive, I'd rate it as average. Speed wise I would say is average as well. I didn't find it to be lightening fast, and on some things there is a delay like when I try to open the windows store or check for automatic updates; Cortana is also kind of slow, but all of this could just be due to my lack of patience. Windows 10 is great (when it works correctly). I experienced a lot of freezing and slowness early on, but I recently downloaded an update and since downloading this update I haven't been experiencing the freezing with the internet and delayed response like before. The computer does not come with a CD drive, luckily my step-mom had a portable CD drive with a USB that I could borrow so I was able to load the things I need. Sometimes the display drive crashes, but it immediately recovers itself in like half a second, it's something I can live with. I'm sure they'll come up with an update to correct this issue soon. I really do love this computer, I understand that technology will never be perfect and there will always be some kind of issue. I think the issues I have experienced with the freezing and slowness was really attributable to windows 10 and not the laptop itself, and like I said the update corrected these issues so I'm very pleased with my purchase. The features are great and the keyboard backlight comes in handy too. I really don't have much to complain about, I love the laptop and am pleased with my purchase, and for the price ($650) I couldn't have found a better computer encompassing all the features that I wanted.

It may be the most performant laptop you can buy at this price level. I had a full upgrade to latest version of windows 10, and the installation was very fast. Microsoft Edge is still very buggy, and it pauses and more often than not crashes the video driver.. I will recommend use other web browsers in sacrifice of the touch experience. I don't use the tablet mode very often, it is just too heavy to be a tablet, so, If you don't mind its heaviness... I recommend this laptop.

As many a 600.00 plus dollars computer equals a lot of the budget so, you like to get the most for it. This laptop with the i5, 256Gb SSD, 1080p and 802.11AC wifi it delivers quality and a very functional platform. The touch screen is awesome and the hinge system used 9n the screen has worked well. Summary 802.11ac wifi is fast (we have 802.11 ac router served by 75Mb comcast). SSD allows for faster boot times, little small is you download lots of movies. The touch screen makes surfing, game play and other functions work great, easier to hold laptop as well. The laptop has a quailty fit and feel. We feel we good a,good deal, we've owned the laptop for 2 months.

Great Laptop to Replace my Mac

My iMac's video card decided to stop working. After some research, I decided to go back to having a laptop. I had researched for months and knew I wanted something with SSD (faster load times), a lighter build (check) and lastly an intel process (check check). So I found this one and just as stated in the previous paragraph, it checked all the boxes, with one addition: Touch screen. In the past, I always refrained from a touch screen because mainly, I didn't care. Boy was I wrong. I LOVE having it. I basically never ever use any kind of mouse. Why is the touchscreen so good? Well, it is because this thing can convert to a tablet if need be. Sure, it is odd to hold it in this way as the keyboard is then on the other side, but it is cool to have the function. For me, I use it as a laptop that I can navigate through touching the screen. It's the right screen size too, which is great. I am a big gamer, and though this laptop will not run very many high 3D games, this runs Healthstone very well (Blizzard Card Game), which is really what I was looking for. But you gave it a 4 star Nick, what gives? Well, it has less to do with the hardware and more with the software...at least I hope. Sometimes at random the laptop will report a crash, basically saying "something has happened" with a frown face and will just restart on me. This could be more of a Windows 10 issue and less of a laptop issue, but an issue either way. All and I, I could not be happier with my decision to pick this laptop up. I originally picked it up at full price and it had a price reduction of $100 a few weeks after purchase and Best Buy was nice enough to give me the difference in a gift card. Customer service at its best. Thanks Fargo Best Buy! I really didn't care about the touchscreen feature but

After weeks of research this was my choice for the granddaughter for college. Knowing often these kind of devices can have early failure (regardless of mfg) we wanted to be sure she could hit the road running so we spent a couple days putting it through it's paces. I have to say absolutely no disappointment. As mentioned it's extremely fast, quiet, no heat, and I found it as attractive as anything else and better than most. Can't wait for her to open it Christmas eve. Loved it so much a week later I had to go back and buy big brother (I7 512 version) I truly believe both models provide the best bang for your buck out there!

This replaces a Toshiba Celeron laptop that proved incapable of keeping up with Windows updates and finally became torture to use. I needed a more responsive computer immediately because I needed to download some massive files. I went to my local BBY store. As this was right after Christmas, there was not a large laptop selection in my price range. I was leaning towards a Lenovo for slightly less money until I read the customer reviews at bestbuy.com on my phone; that particular model had way too many hardware failures right out of the box. That left this Acer as the last laptop standing at this price. I admit I was apprehensive. I own an Acer Windows tablet that is pretty underwhelming so wasn't sure I wanted another Acer product. I also did not need 2 in 1 capability as I think - based on experience with the Acer tablet - that Windows is as terrible a tablet experience as it is a good desktop one. However, I was sold when I saw the gorgeous HD display and how responsive the unit was when I tried the very good keyboard. The customer reviews were all positive, so I took the plunge. I had a setup issue that turned out to be a Microsoft problem and not an Acer issue. Once that was resolved, this thing has performed really admirably. I installed my usual software apps without incident, updated through all current MS updates very efficiently, and let this product demonstrate how well-equipped it is. Ample RAM for both computation and display and a fast SSD make for insanely fast boot up and shutdown. There are four USB ports - one USB-C, two 3.1,and one 2.0 - which allows connection of an ethernet adapter (see below), an external HD, a wireless mouse dongle, and a connection to your DAC. HDMI out enables easy use of an external monitor. For a unit with an i5, wifi-only connectivity, and HD graphics, this one has impressive battery life; I haven't been able to drain the battery yet, so I bet this can go maybe six or so hours before it shuts down. There are a few downsides. This model's track pad, like those on other modern laptops, is way too responsive to hover gestures, so your palm's presence near the track pad as you type can send your cursor off into the weeds. If there is a way to reduce hover sensitivity, I haven't figured it out yet. Also, like other modern slimline laptops, this has no ethernet port. If you need a wired connection - for use with hi res media files that stream poorly, for example - you can buy a gigabit ethernet adapter for less than $20. Finally, the plinth and keyboard tend to pick up skin oil more rapidly than most other laptops; a $5 computer gel and lintless cleaning cloth kit is all you need to address that issue. All told, this is a fine modern laptop. I haven't tested it as a tablet, but, for my intended purposes, it's a good investment.

This laptop is AMAZING. It runs super fast and I love the touch screen, a little big to use as a tablet but I don't mind since I wanted a laptop the option to flip it to a tablet doesn't interest me. The only issue I have is my graphics card keeps stopping and i think I may have to take it back to geek squad to fix it. Thank god I bought the warranty or I'd be way more upset, Thats the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

I have used this constantly since I purchased it in early December. I purchased the 14 inch version because my eyes were growing too old for my Surface Pro3 without a good-sized monitor. It has proven to be exactly what I wanted. It has a long battery life (I charge it at night and it makes it through a 9 hour workday without fail). The 14 inch screen is perfect for my older (70+) eyes. It is thin and relatively fast (i5). My only complaint is that the keyboard is not illuminated as is my Surface.

So far I'm pretty impressed by this computer. I wanted a relatively inexpensive computer and in my book this qualifies. I got it on sale for 650 Plus tax and compared to the MacBook I really wanted I couldn't justify the price jump. I've been using ssd drives in my laptops for the last 4 years and this one is the quickest booting machine I've had. It boots up from completely off to past log in in less then ten seconds. Even My high end Sony Vaio that I upgraded to an SSD took a lot longer to boot up. For what it is this machine is pretty unbeatable...by that I mean a HD Screen 1920 by 1080, 8 gb of ram, and a 256 SSD. When looking too many "cheap" computers had lower then 1920 by 1080 resolution screens and to me that is unacceptable in today's standards. Also I played around with sending this to my tv via my Microsoft wireless display adaptor and it works a heck of a lot better then my 2 year old Sony Vaio. That computer was awfully laggy but this one is very smooth and the delay is hardly noticeable. Then again this is for watching movies/tv and not any sort of gaming. I haven't taken off the back yet to see if the ram is accessible or what the ssd is but I'll probably check it out later.

I needed to update my laptop. I read many reviews before I decided to purchase the Acer. I have had the Acer for approximately one month. To get everything from an Acer competitor that this laptop has, you would have to spend hundreds of dollars more. I'm very pleased with this laptop. If you're looking to update, you wont be disappointed with this one
