The laptop has very nice specs for the price. And it performs extremely well. Plenty of RAM, enough SSD space, 1920x1080 screen. Win10 boots quickly and operates smoothly. Speakers sound better than other laptop speakers I've used, but they're still laptop speakers. If you want good sound, attach external speakers. The auto-rotation when using in tent or tablet mode is great. I found the 10 - 12" HD screens to be too hard to read, but the 14" seems the perfect sweet spot. Overall, for the price, this is a great piece of kit. Recommended.

I actually purchased another brand of Laptop initially and after three tries with a DELL 13" I returned it and purchased the most similar which was the ACER 14". The SSD is great and starts up quickly. Everything is moving well with the exception of the touch pad which is way too sensitive. As a result I purchased a mini wireless mouse for better control

Bought this Acer Aspire R-14 to replace a four year old Toshiba laptop about 6 weeks ago. The Acer is equipped with Intel Core i5, 8GB memory and 256GB SSD. So far everything is great. We mainly use a laptop for e-mail and web surfing. We don't do any gaming or video editing. Our other device is an iPad. For our purposes the Acer is great. We really wanted a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 but just couldn't justify spending the $1200 for the model we wanted. Spent half of that amount and got exactly what we need. We do like the flexibility the Acer design provides. It is easy to use in any of its multiple positions. The touchscreen works great when using in tablet mode. The touchscreen also works great when using as a laptop. Being able to use a mouse AND the touchscreen is awesome. The screen size is a good compromise and the resolution provides a crisp and clear image. Three main reasons behind our purchase of this laptop: solid state hard drive, touchscreen, and hybrid platform. A bonus feature for us is the backlit keyboard. Can't speak to battery life because we haven't traveled with it yet. About the only negative we have is the weight. While not heavy (and much lighter than the laptop it replaces) it is still not as light as some of the other hybrids on the market. However, we have no real complaints so far. We only rated this product four stars because we have only had it for about six weeks and can't speak to long term durability. Windows 10 seems to run well on this laptop and so far no issues have come up. Since this is our first Acer product we did purchase the three year Geek Squad repair/replacement package. Probably not a sound financial move but it did provide us with peace of mind. We did read most of the reviews on the Best Buy website regarding this model and feel most of those reviews are spot on. So thanks to all the other people who did reviews. It really helps us feel like we can make an informed decision.

I replaced my old laptop with the Acer Aspire R-14 2 in 1 touch screen laptop and I love it! My old laptop was so slow and awful. It is a pleasure to use this. It is fast and the touch screen is awesome!

Love the Acer Aspire laptop with Solid State Drive. The option to use it as a laptop or fold it over like a tablet is great. The speed is awesome and the weight and size make it easy to handle.

I've had this computer for about a month now. I haven't run in to any big problems and it has proven to be quite useful to me as a college student. No complaints thus far! I didn't think that I was going to use the touch screen feature or the tablet mode very often, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the convenience and functionality of these features. Windows 10 has been great for me. I would tell a friend not to have any worries buying this computer.

A lot of people don't understand the power and usage of an SSD compared to a regular HDD. Lightning speeds. Less heat. Yes theres not a lot of storage but this is a speedy laptop with the new skyline chipset.

I have to say first and foremost that my overall impressions of this laptop have been extremely positive. I began the search for a new laptop with rolling the dice on a sub $400.... a mistake. Exchanged for this laptop after much self debate as I have never owned an Acer product and did not have positive impressions of the brand. +The Aspire R feels great in the hands compared to other similarly priced laptops. +Fantastic screen even though it may be a little too cool of an image on default settings. Responsive touchscreen. +Snappy performance and above average battery life. +Pretty good set of speakers for a more portable laptop. -Trackpad is slightly less responsive than I would like. -I keep having to turn on the keyboard backlight manually for some reason. I am coming from a 2012 MacBook air which finally bit the dust after a fatal fall off of the bed. I must say for paying literally half of what I did for the MacBook air that this is a fantastic value and surprisingly well built computer that could work as your primary device if need be with no problem. Great Buy.

We really like the solid state drive and the longer battery life

I like the speed and the crisp screen. The keyboard is great.

The processing speed is very good. The SSD works very nicely. The only issues I have had is that sometimes when I power on I get a blank screen and have to reboot. Also some of the initial software installed on the computer was annoying. It is though a very good product for the price.

This is a versatile, fast, reliable laptop with long battery life. The solid state hard drive makes the device really quick on startup and shutdown. Love it.

So far, the laptop has performed as expected. Good screen and sound. Good performance overall.

I had a Lenovo and returned it for an Acer. I like the keyboard much better, the screen is not as "touchy" as the Lenovo. The only downside is the battery lasts about 8 hours and the driver needs updating because it sometimes stops working, but instantly is corrected. It's annoying, but minor. Overall, I am very happy with the Acer.

It is a wonderful piece of technology; light weight and mobile. I love the touch screen and being able to use it as an oversize tablet.

I will be using this laptop when I am away from my larger desktop systems. I was surprised to realize it out performs either of them. I won't be storing too much data so the speedy Solid State Drive is a big plus. Screen quality is sensational, very good for preliminary quality photo editing. The i5 processor has lots of headroom for future programs.

Although I have yet to really put this computer to the test in terms of all the different features it has, so far it has been an excellent computer for streaming video and simple things like browsing the internet. Very fast boot up, full 1080p display, 2-in-1 feature is nice and touch screen is responsive. Hopefully I can put up a more detailed review once I have tested out all of its capabilities, but so far so good. Definitely would recommend this computer to someone looking for one around the $700 range.

I like having a lap top that is a touch screen. Lighter than my lap top,
