I was looking for a 2 in 1, and was going to go with a standard HD. Unfortunately, nearly every review on other machines without a SSHD said how slow they were. When I saw this one, it was a no brainer. Trying it out at Best Buy was a smart move, and it just reaffirmed other reviews I had seen. This boots fast, runs any game put to it, and seems to have no lag at all. After a month, there have been no issues. Using tablet or keyboard, everything works. You can't go wrong.

I love the idea that this item can be a computer with a keyboard and then flip to a tablet. It is also a touch screen! It is very fast and perfect for anyone.

Bought to replace Windows 7 laptop. Like I7 processor and 512 SSD with Windows 10. Mail app on Windows 10 does not sync to my Cox email. Thank God for Google and Android, at least they have their act together and their apps work. This is a great laptop and about $400 cheaper than anything else I could find with same specs.

I didn''t want to spend a ton of money on a new notebook. I pre-ordered a Surface Book but when it arrived at the store I decided it was just TOO MUCH money, This computer is great. Solid state drive, USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, and wireless AC.. It's relatively light and could run 7-9 hours on the battery. One downside, No lighted keyboard, One great plus. I work on IBM mainframes and ACER is one of the few companies that don't require multiple fingers to press the function keys which is what you use constantly on 3270 emulators when working

Both a laptop and a tablet. Meets all the latest specs and is one of the few 2-in-1s that have a 512GB SSD instead of others equiped with only a 256GB SSD. Highly recommended!

We were needing another laptop for our kids to use and after looking at several different models I decided to go with this one. It's very fast at startup, easy to navigate and I love having the touch screen option. Lightweight and seems to last a long time on the battery. The screen size seems a touch small and I have a concern that the connector where the cord plugs into the computer is a bit flimsy, but on the whole I am very satisfied with this purchase so far.

Had taken the leap to Acer - previously a Lenovo only purchaser - and am impressed with the speed, display and available ports. This machine rocks!

Problem with HD Intel Graphics Driver

I received this laptop Nov 16, 2015. I really like most aspects of the computer. It is light weight, boots up quickly and runs programs like matlab smoothly. However, from the day I got it I have had problems with browsing graphic heavy sites and streaming from sites like youtube. When I am on these sites, the internet seems to slow down and then I get an error message saying, "Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 8 (R) stopped responding and has recovered." I updated the driver and the problem improved but still occurs occasionally. I am in two minds about returning the computer, but will probably return it. The tablet mode is not practical as the computer is just too big.

Overall it's a good laptop, with good features at a good price. Battery life is decent, but not great. Weird issue where you can't press 3 keys, when one is an arrow key, simultaneously (impacts games).

Despite comments of the display driver stopped & recovered is not a fault of Acer rather a software issue that apparently other mfg's also have. (do a google search and you'll see) For me I only see it maybe once every couple of days, but recovery is so fast I just ignore it. I would agree Microsoft should get in gear with a update to correct it though. As for the laptop itself it's been great! Fast, light enough, no heat issues, great display, backlit keyboard and has a real quality feel and look about it. Absolutely the best bang for your buck out there!

I bought this Laptop/Tablet as a Christmas gift for my wife. All I can say is - Awesome. It's blazingly fast and my wife loves that fact that she can use it as either a laptop or a tablet.

The laptop performance is excellent. The tablet mode adds to the functionality of the laptop. It works well for presentations. Using the Triangle platform is useful when making presentations or watching movies. The tablet touch screen works well. The laptop has plenty of storage. The keyboard touchpad works well, but at times, the cursor will jump from its current position making it a little annoying. I use this laptop for several hours each day and I very happy I selected this model (AspireR14).

Great all-around computer except for battery life

Had this computer past 3 years and would probably buy Acer again based on its performance (and my previous 2011 Acer Aspire laptop is still running) except that Best Buy is no longer selling Acer, and they seem to have gone down in quality judging from online reviews. Only problem I ever had was out of the box due to a manufacturer driver conflict with Intel chip, had to search this issue online and make a couple changes – Problem was not confined to Acer. Other regrettable issue is bad battery life, it’s never been as advertised and after 2 years was down to about 2-3 hours, at 3 years it’s about 45 minutes and this is not a user replaceable battery. (same below-average battery life with last Acer but that was user replaceable.) Looked into replacing this one and it’s too expensive to be worth it. I would buy a refurbished one of these even as a 3-year-old model if somebody needed a dependable lower-cost convertible notebook with a 512 solid-state drive and good performance.

Even with the gloss finish on the display the pictures are sharp, and easy to read the text. I was kind of hesitant at first because of smaller 14" screen when i'm used to a larger desktop but this one is great. Few bugs to get worked out with Windows 10, which were taken care of with the Geek Squad.

Great convertible especially for the money. I upgraded to this model from an Surface 3 pro. I wanted another Surface but I can't see paying the price of over double. This is a good size if you need a notebook but still utilize a tablet. Good quality and pack full of features.

I am using the 2 in 1 as a Digital Audio Workstation running the latest version of Cakewalk Sonar Platinum without issue. This software requires a lot of computing horsepower and this laptop works nicely with it. I also use it on a music stand for displaying sheet music while in tablet mode. With the integrated Bluetooth, I can use my wireless airturn pedal to flip the pages to keep my hands free for playing guitar. The SSD makes start up really quick and program load times are minimal as well. I've done a little gaming on it as well. It won't run your favorite FPS at it's highest detail level, but it will run it respectably at lower levels. All in all, I'm really glad I made the purchase...having a tablet mode and a normal laptop mode allowed me to kill two birds with one stone. I wish the memory was upgrade-able, but that's about the only issue I have with it.

It's a great piece for the price. Am very satisfied with its performance, specially the speed and the time it takes to turn on, almost like an iPad or tablet. SSD's are truly better than HD, and this is really worth the price.

Bought this laptop for my small business. It is just what I wanted.. Thank you to the sales personnel at Best Buy for helping me with my purchase. They pointed out what I needed and what would not be important for my intended use.
