The Acer 514 has performed flawlessly since I purchased it, Dec 2021. Display is very clear and crisp. Speed with the Ryzen processor is super fast. Speakers are a bit on the cheap side but I use external plugin set, so no big deal...I really like the unit. Stream movies off Amazon and use it for background music mostly while I work from home. Great choice for the price.

This is my first Chromebook. We have been using with the kids for homework and online classes. We have not pushed the performance but for regular browsing has been working well.

I love my new Chromebook. This model meets all of my needs. Set up is a snap. Log into your Google account and it does the rest. It loads web pages fast. Great for watching videos and the sound is great. The keyboard is comfortable to use and being back lighted helps in low light. Beyond impressed.

So far, so good. Really nice build quality, and decent speed for a Chromebook. I got it on sale for <50% MSRP so great value there, but probably still a good deal outside of that. AUE date nice and far away (a must for new Chromebooks) and touchscreen works well (nice for android apps and games). USB charging either side is a plus, and a simple cheap USB to HDMI adapter allows 2nd display. Only real downside is the fans (downward firing and also towards the hinge) have not the best airflow design so they spin up quite a bit unless you elevate system on a cooling rack or something (and sometimes they just turn on even when in sleep mode/lid shut... so I usually store on flat surface or with the fans facing up).

Replaced an older acer chrome book for Dad on Father’s Day. He loves it! Loves the HD touch screen. Same concept for use , he doesn’t have to learn how to operate a new system. Open up and enjoy!

Got this on sale so it was a pretty good deal for the price. 8gb of RAM would have been nice but everything else about it was great.

The Acer Spin 514 Outer shell is a very nice touch and offers better protection over many of its competitors plastic ones. (Military 810h standard) The 514 is not heavy at all, tipping the scales at under 4lbs. Not bad for a 14-inch Chromebook packed with the Ryzen 3 3250c with 4gb DDR4 and 64Gb flash memory.
The memory is expandable via a Micro sd Slot. Dual Usb-C slots. HDMI 4 slot. The 360 can convert/fold into 4 different positions for just about any situation from viewing movies to carrying like a tablet to making a presentation. Battery life is around 10 hours, more than enough for a hard day’s work.
The keyboard is very nice and feels great for typing with its concaved keycaps.
The 1080p touch screen monitor is great. Very crisp in any lighting conditions. I took it out in the sun, in my mancave arcade, and finally in a Brightly Lit Led room, and I was able to use the monitor without issue. The glass used is a tried-and-true Gorilla Glass which with can withstand all kinds of daily abuse. When I first started the unit, I joined my network and downloaded the latest updates, then I logged in as myself for testing and later added my daughter, who uses Google classroom for her school. She logged in and we had her set up fast. Adding a printer with 2 clicks was a snap. She then opened her classroom and we compared it with her current school issued Chromebook. We opened large docs and it open them instantaneously, her other laptop took 30 seconds. When she was on lockdown, she was constantly frustrated due to slow document opening. The class had to wait for her. Not anymore, the Ryzen 3 processor rocks. The Radeon graphics card is perfectly paired. Great for schoolwork/office work or playing of online apps or games. The Spin can lock down the laptop using Google's built in OS controls for kid use. Even set limits using Google families. The Spin is impressive at this price range, great for students who use Google classroom for those who love Android. You can even set your phone up on this Chrome book to send and receive texts locate your device or show last open Chrome tabs.
If you love the Android/Chrome system, this is for you or for a family member who uses Google files such as those included in Google classroom. I love the feel, look, speed and options of the Asus for newbs. There is a small learning curve, but there are tons of how to’s and tutorials built in. Once you watch those you will be up and running on a very secure (more than windows) system that can sync with everything that has Chrome OS or Chrome browser. The portability of the system is great for multitaskers and those who use multiple devices and need files and settings to follow them. I would recommend this to family and friends.

This is an average Chromebook. I learned the importance of RAM on a Chromebook from this product. 1-2 tabs, the Chromebook works amazingly; however, open 4-of more, it becomes increasingly too slow or unstable to get things done with the Chromebook. The quality of the product is fantastic. The touch and feel of the Chromebook don't feel cheap.

Nice price point and seems to work for what my son needs. Time will tell on how long the speed/power will last.
