Quality laptop, with good screen, touchpad, keyboard, stylus, and battery life. A good all round laptop. For the price you can't go wrong. Especially if it is on sale.

This is by far a really good Chromebook and the built-in stylus makes it even better. It's really fast and does so much well. I had to return mine only because I couldn't use my thermal printer with it. Besides that it was amazingly good.

Great screen and very fast. No expansion slot, but more than enough storage for a Chromebook. With a stylus as well. This was a great deal at the sale price.

Make no mistakes about it - this Chromebook is blazing fast - fast to boot, fast to open apps, and if your internet connection is up to it, fast to browse. This Chromebook is “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” fast. And if youre like me and you have a Wifi 6E, youll get full use of your internet connection. Add to that a wonderful metal build with plenty of ports and multiple operating modes like tablet mode and tabletop mode and a stylus and this is a no brainer.

What's with the trackpad and speaker?

I bought this with high hopes based on the specs of the machine and the positive expert/media reviews. The thing is fast and for the most part a nice computer. However, like other reviewers, there are two things that really detract from it. First is the trackpad...it is loose and rattles when using it. It is annoying and loud (for a trackpad), cheapening the experience. The second is the left speaker makes a static noise somewhat randomly. Again, something that detracts from the experience. I could live with the speaker, but the trackpad was too much. I called Acer and they wanted me to send it in for repair. Since I only had it for a few days I opted to exchange for a different one, but the store didn't have any additional in stock. I may try to order another one online, but am worried these are common manufacturing defects.

After spilling coffee on my reliable Lenovo Chromebook, I was not looking forward to transferring my personal information to a new faster Acer Chromebook Spin 714. To say it was easy is an understatement. It was an eye opening experience. It happened so fast. I'm grinning as I write this.

I have often found Chromebooks to be underpowered with too little memory and storage. Not the case with this unit, which is more than adequate. Hard to imagine needing anything more than this excellent Chromebook. Screen size and quality are about right. Keyboard is large enough for regular use. And it was a great sale price.

This is my first Chromebook and I’m thoroughly impressed! It’s powerful and fast and it has replaced my Windows laptop for almost all of what I need to do. The Linux shell allows me to have everything I need for 3D printing. Cura works just as well when slicing 3D models for printing. Tinkercad in Chrome works just as well as on Windows. No lag when designing models.
I have also found that Google’s office applications are a suitable replacement for MS Office for my needs. Excel macros? No problem, just recreate them in Google Sheets. I even found a check printing program in the Google Play Store to replace the VersaCheck program for Windows.
Build quality is excellent and I have not come across the speaker and trackpad issues that others have experienced. The display is clear and bright. Smooth scrolling by touch. I don’t have experience with prior Acer Chromebooks so I can’t say if this new design has gotten any worse. I also have it connected to a Dell Thunderbolt dock and it’s driving 3 widescreen monitors without a hitch. A Windows keyboard works fine but the function keys are mapped differently which is standard for Chromebooks across the board. Nothing that Dymo labels can't fix. But at least the Caps Lock key works as the Search/Launcher function is now using the Windows key. The garaged stylus is always there if needed.
I'm glad I made the switch. No more MS Windows bloat. It's a steal when it's on sale. No regrets!

At first I loved this laptop. It was fast and easy to use and quickly became my go-to personal computing device. However I keep running into hardware/software issues. First the battery stopped taking a charge. I had to ship the laptop to Acer's warehouse for repair. It took a little over a week, but I got the laptop back with a brand new battery. Then the trackpad stopped working, forcing me to send it back in to the warehouse. Maybe I just got unlucky and bought a lemon, but I've never had to be without a laptop for as long as I have with this Acer.

I'm glad with the price for this deal, but the machine had an an inferior screen (not as bright, colors not as rich), and an inferior sound system (tinny sound), when compared to my old Pixelbook..
