Customers are enthusiastic about the large screen size, good battery life, and ease of use of the Iconia One 10.1" tablet. Many also appreciate its affordable price and lightweight design. However, some users express concerns regarding the sound quality and limited RAM, suggesting these areas could be improved. The amount of onboard storage is also a point of contention for some.

It's a great tablet. Easy to play games on. My four year old grandson likes to play his learning games on it. Highly recommend this tablet for any age.

Holds charge well. I only downloaded a couple of small games and my tablet says my memory is low, but when I go to free up memory there is actually a lot of space left. A little confusing.

Excellent 10" tablet. Tablet is responsive and fast. Tablet has full support of the Google Play store (unlike the Amazon offerings). Great performance.

This tablet is very nice. I find it very fast and has great sharp display. The only problem with it is that I can't adjust the screen brightness.

I really liked the 10in Acer, watched it, easy to set up then ran into a problem with the charger. Plug was not a good fit, the manufacturer and Best Buy were very helpful. I did have to return it as defective.

Bought this Acer tablet to replace my wife's Samsung that my grandson took over. It has proven to be every bit the tablet the Samsung was and at almost half the price. The wife loves it and won't let anyone else near it.

Perfect starter tablet for my daughter, but I would highly recommend purchasing the geek squad plan along with the tablet. I had an issue with the tablet within the first year and the geek squad took care of it.

There are several things I really like about this tablet and a few that could improve. Having a Kindle Fire 6" for my son and a Kindle Fire 7" for myself, I thought they would make a good comparison. Right when you take the Acer out of the box it gives a great first impression. Loved: - 10" of screen gives a lot of visual real estate for web pages. Makes it easy to touch and navigate - Setup takes less than 10 minutes and is very straightforward - Came with a full charge - Very fast in opening and closing apps - Having access to Google's Play store Liked, but could be better - Admittedly, it's a tablet but the sound was a bit muddled on videos - The bigger the size video window, the more blurry it got. But most videos look very good - Could use a little more onboard memory but the option for a MicroSD expansion card is nice - Camera is okay. You won't be taking vacation shots with this but it'll do in a pinch I would recommend this tablet first and foremost for the screen size and how fast it moves between web pages and apps. Video and audio are on par with other tablets. I'm already spoiled for the size in navigating the web with it and find it hard to go back to my Kindle Fire !

Let me start with a disclosure. 1. I'm a member of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network and they sent this to me to write an honest review. 2. I'm an iOS guy. I've never used an Android device outside of my Sony TV. 3. I'm not an Acer fan. When I recommend hardware to friends, Acer generally isn't the first brand to come to mind. 4. I'm not a tablet user. I use my phone for everything. If it's something I can't do on my phone, I'll use a laptop (I really wish I was using my laptop to write this review instead of my phone). I've often toyed with the idea of getting an iPad, but I just can't see the benefit. All that of that said, I'm probably the WORST person to write this review. Or the best depending on your perspective. Here we go... We'll start with packaging. Everything was nicely packaged. No chance for things to move around and get damaged. I pulled everything out and the device came with a slight charge already which was nice. The Acer powered up and I ran through all the standard setup - nothing completely out of the ordinary. You are prompted to sign up for an Acer account which gets you online storage and I'm sure a few other perks. The device feels solid. The back has a nice textured cover which gives a nice sense of security unlike the slippery backed iOS devices. Being a white textured surface, it will probably show dirt over time, but nothing I experienced in my month of use. I was able to connect to my wireless network (5GHz) and tried a few different speed tests - all of which hit my ISP max download/upload speeds. So far so good. Web browsing was also good using Chrome. Everything displayed properly on my usual sites and loaded quickly. I loaded a few apps that I regularly use on my TV or iPhone as well as a few others that aren't available on either platform. No problems again. Much like dating, it was about this time that things started to get weird. I'd often get warnings that I was running out of memory. The device was running ok, I wasn't seeing a degradation in performance but just getting a happy little message in the control panel/system tray or whatever it's called. It was more of an annoyance than anything and might be an Android issue vs a device issue. It was easily remedied - a few button clicks and the memory was cleared up. I did briefly look for a threshold setting, but couldn't easily find it. I loved the customization of the unlock screen. Place two fingers here or make a different motion and the screen would unlock and launch whatever app you configure. This is a feature I'd love to see in iOS. Continuing through our time together and the issue that'd kept me from using this on a regular basis was the battery life. Not so much in use because I realize there are so many variables to consider. But, when the device was sleeping. Fully charged, I'd come back to use it 8-12 hours later and it'd have 75% battery left. Huh? What are you doing? My experience with iOS is very different. I can leave my phone of the charger overnight and it'll drop maybe 2-5%. My parents have an older iPad and it also functions that way. Again, this might be configurable (don't check email or app updates) - but outta the box itd seem you'd want killer battery life to keep your ,Average Joe from needing to do this. Would I buy it? Probably not. Not because it is a bad product, it just isn't for me. I actually found the product to be quite nice and felt pretty solid. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes. It might not be my first choice, but it would certainly serve as a solid device for the average user.

    Nice Budget Tablet

This first paragraph is all about personal preference and is completely subjective. The Iconia One 10 is the perfect size for a tablet IMHO. Neither my wife or I are fans for the 7" size. While they may be convenient on the go, to actually watch video or browse web pages we like more screen space. This tablet has more of a 16:9 widescreen ratio than a 4:3. The backside of the tablet has a nice texturized feel to it and the edges are not sharp. The Power button and Volume Up/Down button are located next to each other. One of my other tablets does the same thing and I don't like it. It makes it difficult to quickly adjust the volume because you have to determine, am I on the Volume button or the Power button? The Volume button is also completely flat which again I don't care for. There is no tactile sense that your finger is on either side when it's flat. You are forced to either look at the button to determine you're on the correct side or move your finger the length of the button to determine the Up vs. Down side. My final thought on the buttons, they are the same color as the bezel. Again, I understand that it makes the unit look slick but it makes finding the buttons in lower light a little more difficult. The display is very nice. Text, video and images are very crisp. The glass isn't super slick but it has a good feel to it when swiping. The front camera is a 2mp and the back camera is a 5mp. To get that resolution you must shoot in 4:3 format not 16:9. The front camera was very soft. When taking a selfie it seemed to do smoothing on my face and not a good job at that. The back camera was just Ok. Nothing was super sharp. Colors were good but the picture was just average. If picture taking is your thing then I might look elsewhere. The tablet has 1Gb of memory and almost immediately I had Android telling me System memory is low which was strange since I have other 1Gb tablets and I've never seen that warning. As it turns out this warning keeps popping up all the time. It's not really in your face but you constantly see the icon at the top of the screen. It really never seemed to effect the apps but I'm not happy that it never really goes away. When I first saw it I had loaded the Camera and the Acer Photo viewer abPhoto and that was it. I hadn't installed a single App yet. It could be that my other tablets have the same issue, they simply don't give you a notification to try and clear it up like the Acer. It comes installed with Android 5.1. Acer adds their own spin on the OS which is completely normal. Here are 4 things you can expect: 1. They replaced Google Cards, the first screen on the left, with their own News system. You can still get your Cards by opening the Google App, just not by swiping from the Home Screen. There seems to be very little configurability as to what you see. You can get YouTube if you sign up for Google+, Facebook, or Opera Discover. Opera is what you want to select if you actually want any content. It simply shows you a variety of stories from Hard News, Sports, Entertainment and more. 2. When you open Acer Apps and most Google Apps you have a small icon in the bottom left corner to go into Split Screen Mode, called EZ Tasking, allowing you to multi-task. 3. Android 5 introduced the double tap to wake up your device when it was in sleep mode. Acer has modified this to give you up to 3 different gestures to not only wake up the device but to start a specific app based on the gesture. The 3 gestures are double tap with a single finger, pressing two corners with your thumb, or using all 5 fingers. 4. EZ Gadget gives you quick popup access to a resizable Web Browser, Calculator, Text Memo and Calendar no matter what App you are in. A nice touch! Finally a tablet uses front facing speakers! They sound pretty much the same as all tablet speakers, pretty tinny, but how nice it is to set the tablet down and be able to hear sound! Streaming music via Spotify, TV via Time Warner, or Baseball via MLB.TV was not an issue and worked great. If the amount of internal storage memory isn't enough for you, drop in a memory card! So nice to see stuff like this on portable devices. All in all it's a nice tablet at it's price point. It's using a pretty recent version of Android, has a great display, streams content very well, and plays games like Candy Crush just fine. It doesn't have a great amount of RAM as I said earlier so you may need press the Optimize button every once in awhile, and the camera is just average. Browsing the web also didn't exhibit any issues. Definitely worth a look for the budget conscious.
