Customers are enthusiastic about the large screen size, good battery life, and ease of use of the Iconia One 10.1" tablet. Many also appreciate its affordable price and lightweight design. However, some users express concerns regarding the sound quality and limited RAM, suggesting these areas could be improved. The amount of onboard storage is also a point of contention for some.

Badly made, bubbles coming up on screen, very very hot running, patchy network connection in area that laptop and other tablets have no issues. I would take it back if I could

I haven't used this long enough for a thorough review, but so far I like it. No software problems, seamless downloading of apps, and great graphics make this easy to get used to.

Loved this tablet. Speedy enough, never over heated. Favorite feature was the split screen function. Would love to still be using it, but my wife kinda took it over, LOL.

I bought this tablet to replace one from another brand that lasted less than two years. So far, so good. Besides if it crashes, I'm not out as much as I was the last time.

As an iPad user, it took me a day or so to learn how to use this tablet. It is light compared to an iPad and the resolution is not quite as good as the newer iPads, but it is overall very good. Setup was easy and intuitive and the performance is solid. It has a plastic case and comes with 32 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM. This is sufficient for most uses. The battery life seems very good and I like that it has a slot for additional memory. The camera is a 5MP rear camera with a 2MP front camera. It also supports wireless AC and quickly found my AC networks. Overall, this is a very nice device.

    Great Basic Tablet for Beginners

This tablet is great for beginners, those on a budget, or those looking for a basic tablet without some of the fancy bells and whistles of higher priced tablets. If you are looking for a tablet to: -browse the Internet -check emails -video chat -play games -use while traveling -other basic things then you should consider this tablet. Target audience for this tablet includes: kids, students, travelers, basic tablet users, budget tablet users. If you are looking for a tablet to: -watch a lot of 4K/HD movies and videos -use as a serious, high graphics gaming tablet -use in a business setting then I would probably look at a higher quality tablet. Pros: -Cost for Specs Included -Large Screen -Front and Rear Cameras -Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 32 GB Memory -Accessories Available (cases, screen protectors, etc.) -Expandable Memory (add your own micoSD card) -Android Operating System Cons: -Picture Quality -Plastic Build (does not feel or look like high quality) -Speakers (are ok quality, you can get around this by using headphones) -Bloatware (unnecessary Acer apps loaded on tablet that cannot be removed - including the one that causes people to get the 'Low Memory' notification when the memory is just fine)

Decent Entry Level Tablet with a big screen

This was my first 10 inch android tablet since the Motorola Xoom quite a few years back. 10 inch tablets are definitely an adjustment coming from smaller tablets or smartphones in how you handle them. Have not found a kids type protective cover for this model yet, am probably going to get a leather one for some protection. This tablet's screen touch feature is very very sensitive. Have racked up more unintended mistakes using the touch feature than I have on all other touch devices in the house by far. The 1 gig of system ram is a little on the low side by today's standards, and I get system messages all the time to free up ram usage, but it is an entry level device. Makes a nice E-reader if you are coming from reading on a smartphone. All in all, this tablet is on par running android apps and programs compared to a year old mid to high end smartphone, so take that in consideration when purchasing.

It's inevitable that any new tablet that comes out is going to be compared to the gold standard, the IPad. We have 2 of them at home, one my wife's, the other my daughter, so i was able to look & play with them side by side. I won't make this a lengthy blow by blow comparison, there are enough reviews out there on the web. I'll simply point out what I see as the most obvious differences, and what you're giving up by not going high end. The initial setup was painless, started & hooked up to wifi with no issue. Same for Netflix and HBO go. As we started checking it out, it became obvious this is no ipad clone. Is it as fast as an ipad? No. It's not exactly slow, but definitely not as snappy. Is the camera(s) as good? No - especially in low light conditions. Is the sound as good? No - without headphones or an earpiece, the built in speakers can only be described as tinny. While i'm not exactly the best at closing out open apps to free memory, it did seem to me to be overly annoying at warning of a low memory condition fairly frequently. It got a bit better when i plugged in a 32MB mini sd card. One other problem i saw was time to charge - i had it plugged in while playing with it, but the charger wasn't able to keep up with the usage - it was slowly draining during use. Then, while idle, took a long time to charge - I plugged it in at 7:30 this morning with a 5% charge, it's now 8 hours later, and it's still telling me it wants another two hours to full. Now this may seem like a negative review, and you might wonder why i still give it 4 stars. The answer is while it's certainly not an ipad clone, it's a fraction of the cost. I'm not out $600 if it gets dropped or stolen. I don't feel bad about taking it out with me and having to maintain a death grip on it. And it does a lot of things that an ipod will do, maybe not as well, but at a significantly lower price point. This makes for a good 2nd tablet, either as i said for utility use, or for a younger child - or, if a $500+ purchase is just not in your budget. There's no doubt that it's a great piece of technology at this price point.

    Iconia, a very capable tablet!

First impressions: This tablet is nice and clean looking, it is constructed with white (available in black as well) plastic and has a pattern on the back. So while the plastic construction doesn't feel as sturdy as, say an iPad, it's nice and lightweight which is nice sometimes. On occasion, depending on how you hold the device, you may hear the plastic creaking a bit. When oriented in landscape mode, there is 1 speaker on each side of the tablet, a 2mp camera on the front and a 5mp camera on the back. My particular device includes 1GB of RAM for running the OS and programs and 32GB of RAM for storage. One thing that sets this device apart from iOS devices: a microSD slot! If you buy an iOS device, you're stuck with the amount of memory that is built into the device. With this Acer Iconia, and most Android devices I believe, you can add another 32GB...64GB, whatever you want. The box includes a standard USB charger and cable. I have to say, I'm very impressed with this device. For a device at this price point, it packs a lot of features. Performance: The Iconia comes installed with Android 5.1, also known as "Lollipop". I have not used an Android device in years, this was much more pleasant experience than I remembered. I found the user interface to be fairly intuitive, within 15-25 minutes, I was able to figure out my way around and install apps, change the settings etc. My kids were also able to figure out how to operate fairly easily. They took a liking to the widescreen, combined with the Netflix app, my tablet kept disappearing! I was able to do everything on this tablet, that I normally do with my iPad. This includes: watching YouTube, Netflix, surfing the web, reading an iBook, accessing security cameras (via app) remotely and send and receive emails. I even loaded a movie onto a microSD card to see how well playback was, it worked fine. Some of the issues I came across with this device has includes: memory issues and sound quality. A message kept popping up "System memory low, touch to free up memory". I didn't have that many apps running, maybe 4-5. This happened quite a few times, even after I shutdown all the apps running in the background. While this issue may be tied to the OS and not the device itself, it still made the usage of the device a bit left pleasant. The speakers on this device are very bad, they sound tinny and hollow. Best used with earphones or bluetooth speaker! Minor pet peeves: Volume buttons - this may be me not being used to the device, if I'm holding the tablet in landscape mode, the wide volume button is on top next to the power button. If I press the right side of the button, the volume goes up, left side, volume goes down. Now if I orient the tablet so the "Acer" logo is on the left, the same position you would use an iPad with, the lower volume button would raise the volume and top volume button would lower the volume. Seems kind of counter intuitive. The browser seemed imprecise at times. For example, when clicking different fields on a website to fill out name and address information. Conclusion: Don't be fooled by the low price, the Iconia is a very capable device! I would definitely recommend this device to someone that was looking for an entry level tablet or someone on a budget.

Easy to use. Easy to set-up and love the Google integration The battery life is very good and charging time better. The only problem I have with the tablet is the error message, "System Memory Low." I did a quick search via the internet on the tablet, and found out it is a known issue due to Location services creating .txt files during use. The workaround is to turn location services off and problem solved (so far). i actually think this is the best Android tablet to date with sleek design but ACER should not put a tablet on the market with the "System Memory Low" issue.
