Customers are enthusiastic about the large screen size, good battery life, and ease of use of the Iconia One 10.1" tablet. Many also appreciate its affordable price and lightweight design. However, some users express concerns regarding the sound quality and limited RAM, suggesting these areas could be improved. The amount of onboard storage is also a point of contention for some.

Acer Iconia One 10.1 is 2nd first Acer tablet. I have used iPad 1, 3, Air. Also, I have used Amazon Fire and HP Touchpad, so I am very familiar with what tablets are for, their basic functions and purpose. I know I can't compare Iconia One 10.1 with iPad 3 and iPad Air because there is no comparison. The newer generation of iPads are clearly the kings in this arena. However, not everyone can pay the premium price of the iPad. So, Acer will be the next best thing. Acer Iconia One 10.1 is definitely better than Amazon Fire, HP Touchpad and other low priced tablets after I tested it for a week. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and it has a quad-core processor with 1GB of ram. The screen resolution is acceptable HD quality and the screen is beautiful for its 10" size. The touchscreen is very nice and sense accurate, I hardly make any touching mistake and the screen obeys to my commands 100% and it reacted pretty smooth and fast. This area is a lot better than Amazon Fire tablets for sure. Also, it is surprisingly light weight. I held the Iconia watching Youtube and Netflix movies for 2 hours and it didn't feel any difference from holding my iPad Air. Not bad at all. Acer put a few of its own apps on the Iconia and they are not that useful. A few of them are kids apps, so I guess they think that a 10" tablet is perfect for kids for reading and games. Cameras on the Iconia are just ok, I wouldn't use it since I take most of my pictures with my iphone, but it is nice to have them when using Skype or google hangout for video chat. Microphone works pretty well, but the speaker isn't that great. I usually need to put it to the max to hear the voice better, but when it is up to the max, voice distorted a little. Not perfect, but acceptable. This is just a 32GB tablet. I can install most of the useful apps from google play and half of the space is gone. So, if you are a movie and music lover, you will need to invest some extra cash for a big micro SD card. I inserted a cheap 64GB card and it works perfectly fine and I use it for music. The looks of the Iconia One 10.1 is pretty slick and it looks more expensive than it actually is. Built quality feels solid, but I wouldn't drop it on hard floor since it is mostly plastic. If people are looking for an entry level tablet with reasonable price tab that mainly for Youtube, Netflix, Skype, Facebook and common tasks on the go, then Iconia One 10.1 is a great fit. It works better than those smaller screen smartphones and it is easier to carry around.

Last Acer tab I had gorilla glass, that was a big disappointment to me on this tab. Will buy another brand next time that has gorilla glass. But the tabs ok specs for the price.

Sadly, this device out of the box was a slow, problem performer. I guess you get what you pay for. Gave this one to much of a chance, right past the return window.

This tablet is a very good buy for the price. The 10.1 inch screen gives a lot more picture and better clarity than the smaller screen models.

You get what you pay for. A Chihuahua stepped on it and broke the screen. So if you are accident prone don't expect it to last to long and definitely get the protection plan!

Ok, so in the tablet world you have the iPad that started the genre and you have all the others... This is a wifi only (no cellular) tablet that has a satisfyingly large 16:9 screen, is very light feeling in the hands (and I like the textured back as it feels less likely to slip out of ones hands with this back), and has in my experience so far a really great battery life. Memory is expandable with a micro sd slot on the side. The Iconia One also has a pretty cool split screen mode that allows you to do certain multitasking items at the same time such as watching a YouTube video on one side and having your Gmail open on the other side. Setup is typical Android OS and there are options to set up proprietary Acer cloud based features for pics, docs and such. There are two speakers on either side of the tablet and of note, while you can use it in either portrait or landscape (horizontal) mode, the speakers (two of them on either side of the screen while in landscape) and the hard buttons are situated so the best way to use the tablet is horizontally, and it's a widescreen (16:9) ratio so it just feels like it was meant to be used this way. The screen resolution is ok, not the sharpest but it does get pretty bright at the highest setting. Also the screen feels like its gorilla glass so it's tough but as is typical with some of these screens it's a fingerprint magnet. The speakers sound somewhat tinny at times but if you use headphones this is not much of an issue. On a few occasions the Acer was not responsive on the first finger press on a particular item or task so I had to press a couple of times to make things happen. At this price point you do get a lot for your money. The Iconia One is a great tablet to give to the kids or as a tablet you take with you for movies on long trips (I do love the 16:9 screen) just keep in mind some of the cons. But again, I feel for this price point you can't beat what you are getting.

The product does what it is supposed to. The only complaint I have is I took it on a airplane and the volume would not get loud enough to hear though my head phones.

I really didn't like this tablet. It is slow and the battery doesn't last that long. It lags and the storage is very small. I returned it and went with a Samsung.

Display OK. Touch is not very sensitive. Biggest issue is that it is so slow to recharge. I just recharged from about 20% to 100%, and it took about 30 hours on the charger over two days. Charger cannot keep up with use. If I use the tablet with it plugged into the charger, I have a net loss of charge. I do not know whether this is a problem with just MY tablet or with the product generally.
