Customers are enthusiastic about the large screen size, good battery life, and ease of use of the Iconia One 10.1" tablet. Many also appreciate its affordable price and lightweight design. However, some users express concerns regarding the sound quality and limited RAM, suggesting these areas could be improved. The amount of onboard storage is also a point of contention for some.

I recently received the Acer Iconia One 10.1 tablet with 32gb memory. I've used a number of tablets, including prior Android, iOS, and Windows devices. The tablet runs on Android 5.1 rather than the newest 6.0. Some general impressions from looking at and holding the device: -The textured plastic back of the tablet looks ok to me and helps maintain decent grip. -For the size, the tablet feels a little heavy. -The bezels are rather large by current standards. -The plastic body creaks and has too much give to it. Setup was relatively painless. You can skip the Acer account, if you want. I see very little benefit from setting up the Acer account. Android flowed freely. I did notice that the onboard memory seemed challenged when I was downloading and installing a number of apps at the same time. I kept getting "memory low" warnings, but it didn't seem to slow performance, which seems fine, overall. Apps opened quickly and performed as expected. A plus for any Android tablet is the ability to customize the experience in a variety of ways. This one is no different. I don't tend to use cameras on tablets, but even so, I was very disappointed with the quality of the 5mp rear-facing camera. Unless you had essentially perfect lighting conditions, the image was too grainy for any normal use. Screen resolution is a huge "meh." Images look ok. But with only 1280 x 800 pixels, the screen basically brings up the rear guard in terms of modern tablets. The speakers seem to be improved from prior versions. They are loud but lack the depth I'm used to with better tablets. It also has a micro-SD card slot, which I always appreciate. It is easily accessed near the power button along the top of the tablet. At the end of the day, it's not a particularly compelling tablet, but it is a reasonable budget tablet for Android fans.

This tablet is pretty good at the price point Acer is selling it as. The MSRP is $139.99 and I would buy this product at that price point if I was looking for a tablet. The screen is an IPS display with a resolution of 1200x800. The resolution isn't the greatest but at $139 I am not complaining about it at all. From what I can tell at this price point of $150 or below you would be hard pressed to find a tablet with an IPS display which I find the best one to use out of LCD displays since it allows to have better viewing angles, better color saturation and just a brighter display in general. Out of the box it seems to have a screen protector already installed which if it is than it is a nice touch specially for a tablet at this price. The build quality isn't the best but it is good specially for what you are getting. The tablet comes with a Media Tek quad core cpu, 32GB on internal storage that can be expanded with a micro sd card and 2GB of RAM. I like the fact they also included 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage vs using 8GB or 16GB of storage. All in all if you're looking to buy a tablet but don't necessarily want break the bank this is probably one of the better tablets out there that is 10 inches and under $150 dollars.

I was surprised by how much I actually like this product. It has a lot for a smallish price tag. It is fast, has more storage than I need for a tablet, and it starts up quickly. It is also very sturdy. I would have no problem giving it to my child to play a game on. The back of the tablet is practically a case itself since it is so slip resistant and the tablet is thicker than I was expecting. It took awhile for me to get used to the size of the screen because my tablet is much smaller but there is nothing wrong with the screen; I love watching videos on it. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 has more to do with how long it takes for the battery to charge and how large things look on the screen. I charged it overnight (it was at about 25%) and it was still only in the 70% range when I checked on it 8 hours later. That is way too long for an item to need to charge. Also, the larger screen just makes everything larger so it is just like I have zoomed in. When I went to Ebay's site on the tablet I could see very little because the words "Ebay", "Following", "Today", and "Categories" took up the entire screen. I find that very annoying. However, overall it is a good tablet, and I would consider it a great tablet for the price.

I've seen some comments that the graphics on this tablet aren't as crisp as higher-end tablets, the case is plastic, and the speakers sound "tinny." This is generally true, but I think for the price these are perfectly acceptable limitations. I also have a top-of-the-line Samsung 10" tablet that sounds and looks fantastic. However, is it worth $500 more? I guess it depends on how you intend to use it. One complaint I have is with the pre-installed System Doctor app that monitors flash storage and RAM usage. Unfortunately, it frequently pops up an alert saying "System memory low, click here to optimize." To me, it seems like Acer is shooting itself in the foot with this. Android, by design, always uses most of the memory available. Previously used apps stay in memory so when you switch back to them they're all loaded and ready to go. Yes, there can be badly behaving apps that eat up memory and it can help to close those. But for the most part, these alerts seem completely useless and just cause users to think their tablet is bad. Here's a quick list of some of the specs: It has a 6100mAh battery which the manual says allows up to 10 hours of video playback; Screen resolution of 1280x800 pixels (not full-HD); OS is 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box; it weighs 1.21 pounds; and has a microSD slot that can take up to a 128GB card. Overall, for the price, I think this is an excellent tablet.
