This tablet isn't exactly going to turn any heads, and it's not a speed demon or a beauty queen. It's not overwhelmingly great in any one area, but it does well enough at what it seems to be: a budget friendly, entry model tablet. Thoughts: 1. Screen size - At just over 10 inches, it has a good amount of real estate to work with. 2. Screen resolution - If you've seen some of the other competition on the market, the screen resolution could leave you wanting more, both in terms of clarity and richness of colors. 3. Speed - Certainly not winning any benchmark contests, but enough to accomplish most everyday tasks (email, browsing, etc.). 4. Build quality - The materials don't exactly feel premium in the hand, and the plastic casing feels like it might not take a whole lot of abuse. Only time will tell how well it stands up once my 3 year old gets her hands on it. 5. Sound - Opposing stereo speakers on either end of the short side of the tablet. A bit tinny sounding, especially at anything past about 75% max volume. 6. Memory - At 32GB, some users might run out of memory fairly quickly if a lot of music and movies are stored on it. The expandable memory (optional microSD card) is a nice feature to help alleviate this. At the end of the day, this tablet is certainly not great, but it's not horrible either. Its shortcomings are somewhat made up for by its price point. If you're looking for a budget friendly tablet, there are probably some better and some worse options out there.

    Great tablet for the price

This is a great tablet for the price. Its light, quick, and has a microSD card slot. The battery life is really good also, it was able to stay at the same percentage for a day and a half (without use of course). Would be better with 2GB of RAM but it makes good use of the 1GB it has. The only issue is that Acer has a system app that notifies you when RAM is running low, unfortunately it does this at 60-70% which in my option is far too low, it should be at 90% or higher. The notification is easy to clear but you can't turn it off. Definitely NOT a reason to overlook this great tablet though. And of course Acer could update it at any time to raise the percentage.

    Good Value for the Price

This tablet is kind of a mixed bag of good and bad. Overall it feels like a good value for the price. The first thing I noticed was the build quality. It has an overall plasticy feel. Everything is plastic, including the screen. Because of that it smudges easily and is likely to scratch easily without a screen protector. The back has a nice textured pattern that feels good and makes it easier to grip. The whole tablet feels sturdy and doesn't flex easily despite being plastic. It does creak here and there, however. Coming from more premium tablets the screen's resolution looks disappointing up close. At arms length it starts to look much better. The display is bright and uniform, and color saturation is good. There's an included utility to tweak screen settings a little. Viewing angles are good for a tablet in this price range. Performance is zippy enough for everyday tasks like browsing, email and consuming media. The included SD card slot is good for bringing more media on the go. Hopefully the tablet will get an update to Marshmallow soon so the SD card can be seen as internal storage. The 32GB of internal storage is welcome, although there is a considerable amount of pre-installed software that can't be removed. One of which is a memory management app that constantly nags about low memory (RAM, not storage), which is strange because Android does a good job of managing memory on it's own. I just ignore it, but it's annoying that I can't just remove it completely. Overall I'm impressed with the quality for the price, and I would consider this a good candidate as a second tablet or for a student, but wouldn't consider it a primary "daily driver."

Pros- 16:10 aspect ratio ( I find this better than 16:9 ) Decent screen quality Affordable price MicroSD slot Stereo speakers Cons- Cheap feel and construction Mediocre battery life Only 1GB RAM Awkward button placement If all you need is a cheap, basic tablet to read an ebook, check the news, browse your social media, and write some email, Tthe Iconia One is not a bad way to go. Just realize it has sever limitations that may bother some people. Android is not the most efficient mobile OS, and only 1GB RAM means I constantly get "low memory" warnings even with only a couple apps open. Thankfully the CPU is brisk enough to not feel sluggish most the time. The 1280x800 resolution is much appreciated ( compared to the more narrow 1280x720 16:9 screens ). Storage is fairly limited at only 32GB. Yes, a microSD card can fix that, but that means an additional expense in buying the tablet. I wouldn't recommend this to someone else, not because it's a bad product per se, but because I want more from a tablet. You can get x86 tablets running full Windows ( meaning they can run full desktop applications ) for not much more money. Acer's own One 10 comes with a keyboard, SD slot, and full USB port for about $30 extra and delivers more than $30 more in features and capability. However, if all you need is s a cheap, easy way to get something more convenient than a phone for basic computing tasks, the Iconia can serve well. But don't expect more than that. If you can find this under $100, I think it'd be a much better deal.

    Tablet was great

I only wanted this tablet to play games and search the internet, which it was great for both. Starts up fast, quickly loads pages when surfing, no issues playing games or downloading apps. For those reasons and the price, I would give it a 5 star review. I dropped it to a 3 star for the following reasons. I only downloaded four basic games, have never taken pictures or downloaded anything of substantial size, yet a few times a day it tells me it's low on memory and running slow. This is pretty much a bare bones, brand new tablet and shouldn't be doing this right out the gate, in my opinion. The actual tablet is really flimsy and cheaply made, which doesn't exactly bother me since its a cheaper tablet, but new buyers should be aware of this. The main reason I have lowered the rating is I have had the tablet for 12 days. It now flashes from a blank screen to the Acer logo and blank again. It will not do a hard reset. It is literally stuck in this cycle. I will exchange the tablet and give it another shot since it did work well for basic functions. I hope this was just a bad unit I happened to get and no one else has had this issue. I will update after I have a chance to give the replacement a test drive.

This unit is reasonable for someone seeking a full-featured Android tablet at a moderate price. The 10.1" screen with 32 GB of memory are desirable features in addition to the full feature set of an Android-based device. The screen resolution and the camera resolution are noticeably less than a higher-priced unit. This would be a good unit for someone seeking a lower-cost entry-level tablet, including students or anyone wanting a tablet for occasional use.

As an Apple fan I wasn't sure what to expect from this android tablet. For the price, you can't beat it. I wanted something to use for pdf files and videos to show customers. I had an extra micro SD card, so I loaded the pdf's and videos on the card. Added a nice file app and video app and am now good to go. I tried setting up an iPad to do the same and it was much more work. If you are looking for a basic tablet, I would recommend this one. It is plenty fast and seems to work very well for my needs.

If you look at this tablet for what it is, an inexpensive tablet you will be very happy with it! This is my first Acer product and I am impressed so far for the most part. The tablet runs the latest version of Android 5.1 with a little influence from Acer with some of its own apps and a few other little things but it's not a full reskin. One helpful app is the system checker which lets you easily close out apps to free up system memory. This is especially helpful since it only has 1GB of RAM which causes you to constantly receive a system memory low message. Some of the pluses are price, micro SD card slot, nice bright vibrant screen, better than average battery life ( you can expect almost a full day) , Andriod 5.1, and front facing speakers. The minuses are few, hollow sounding speakers, short charging cable, 1GB of RAM. Overall this is a very solid tablet for the money and would make a great tablet for a child, grandparent, or even as a second tablet for yourself.

    Decent tablet

So, it has been over four years since i have owned an Android tablet and my first time with a budget Android device. Screen: it's not great, low resolution and it had three dead pixels out of the box. The edges of objects look fuzzy and you can easily see pixels. Since really the biggest use I see for tablets is watching videos, having a low quality screen is a real bummer. Performance: i haven't noticed any huge issues here. It doesn't feel blazing fast and you can tell in spots when it hits a slow down. Really though, it plays videos pretty well and is able to surf the internet. My biggest complaint is the memory management app that keeps telling me the RAM is low. I don't really even know why this app is bundled with the tablet since Android takes care of most of the memory management at the system level. Wifi: It's really bad. I have had trouble keeping the tablet connected to a top of the line router, which makes no sense. Hopefully it gets a little better but, as of now it can be unusable at times. Overall: works for browsing the web and watching videos, be it at low quality. I can't imagine doing any gaming on the tablet nor do i have any doubt it will be outdated relatively quickly. If the Wi-Fi were a little more reliable i would say this wouldn't be a bad tablet to give a kid or something like that, given it's low price point. But, since you need the internet for most tablet things, i can't recommend it.

    Gets the Job Done

My review summary says all you really need to know about this tablet. Most of the complaints that I can imagine most people will have about this can easily be explained by the fact that this is indeed a budget tablet.: It feels a bit cheap. The screen res is too low. It doesn't have enough RAM, etc, etc, etc. Like I said, all of these gripes all have the same explanation: it's a budget tablet. That said, it does have some faults that I find curious. Being that it only has 1 gb of RAM, Acer included a System Doctor app to help monitor memory usage and to provide the user with a means to shut down apps that aren't needed anymore. On paper, this sounds great, but I find that the System Doctor notification pops up almost all the time during light use. What's more, sometimes I'll use System Doctor to close apps that I don't need anymore, only to find that it pops back up again with the next app I access. It seems that, you may be able to escape the System Doctor notification if you limit yourself to one app, or two light use apps. This brings me to my next issue: Acer provides an app named EZ Snap, which allows you to use two apps at the same time on-screen. No doubt this app is meant for Acer's higher level tablets, but it feels superfluous on this system. EZ Snap seems like it's meant to taunt System Doc, since it's an app in itself, but then it also helps you use two more apps at the same time. All complaints aside, if you need a large format tablet to read recipes while cooking, or watching a TV show that doesn't require HD, this tablet has you covered. Since this is a secondary tablet for me, it does its job more than adequately enough, However, if you are looking to buy this system as your one and only for getting many tasks done at once, you might want to consider spending a bit more for another, higher level model.

It's got a decent amount of memory and is reasonably fast, but overall build feels a little cheap. The case is lightweight plastic and does nothing to disguise the feel. The screen picks up fingerprints easily but isn't so easy to wipe off. There's a noticeable lag between screen taps and when those taps register in the OS. The picture is good, but the sound is a little tinny coming out of tiny speakers on each side.

Being an Acer fan I figured this should be a no problem tablet. The picture for watching movies and tapping into my DirecTV is reasonably good. Unlike so many of the other tablets, unless you're right in front of the screen the picture gets greyed out.. this doesn't happen on this tablet. Peripheral viewing is actually pretty good. Sound is rather tinny so if you're looking for major sound quality, get a good headset. The only tablet I have ever found with outstanding sound was lenovo but after returning three of them for major problems, I gave up on them. The "low ram memory" box is forever popping up when I turn my tablet on. I constantly clear out my pages and always make sure I close everything before shutting it down but still get the warning everytime I turn it on.. annoying but I'll live with it. I returned this tablet once because it started closing web pages and games while I was reading articles or playing a game... the lenovos started doing that constantly which is why I returned them. Upside to this is the picture quality overall, quick startup and ridiculously fast and easy setup.. the price is an added bonus. Much better for the price than most.

    Well Built Sub $200 Tablet

Having used several tablets in the sub $200 market I was looking forward to using a 10" model running Lollipop. First, the tablet is well built and feels good in your hands. It's not heavy but feel substantial and not flimsy. The screen is actually pretty good as well and looks high quality. Overall, performance has been good for this level of tablet. You will not have great performance on graphic intensive or high resource games but standard games should work well. Web browsing as well as apps like Facebook, Twitter and email ran very well. Netflix was a positive experience as well. The one area that is a bit of a concern is memory management. I found myself clearing apps more often than would be expected. Acer also pre-installs a memory management app that seems to alert high memory usage quite often. I would not say this is a show stopper for this tablet but something to keep in mind. Overall, I am pleased with this tablet for items such as web browsing, social media, email, and video services. You can't go wrong for the price!
