Customers are enthusiastic about the large screen size, good battery life, and ease of use of the Iconia One 10.1" tablet. Many also appreciate its affordable price and lightweight design. However, some users express concerns regarding the sound quality and limited RAM, suggesting these areas could be improved. The amount of onboard storage is also a point of contention for some.

Decent budget option

This tablet is obviously meant for a strictly budget-minded consumer, but is also one of the cheapest options in the full-size Android tablet category. As expected, the specs are somewhat mediocre and are very similar to a flagship tablet of 2-3 years ago. However, if your needs are fairly basic and include primarily browsing, email, and media playback, it should do fine.
The screen resolution is servicable, not being full HD as most screens of this size are now (not to mention phones). The cameras also fall into this category, albeit not a main concern to most people probably. With 1 GB of RAM, it has just enough to handle light multitasking, as well as casual gaming. However, the battery life seems to be very adequate, due to the modest processor and resolution.
One minor concern I would have is getting future updates, as is always the case for non-Nexus devices. If that aspect doesn't bother you though, and you just want something to use casually that won't be much of an investment, I would consider the Acer. The reason I give this as high of a rating as I do is just because of the value - I wouldn't compare this to a Samsung Galaxy S or Pro tablet, but in it's own right it is a solid value proposition.

1GB RAM, poor screen and speaker placement

I'm more of an Apple user but have dabbled in and out of Android products for years. This tablet is a disappoint, even when not comparing it to an iPad.
I'm not sure why Acer crippled it with 1GB of RAM - I'm constantly getting system low memory warnings which hampers the overall experience of using this Android tablet. Just like Apple shouldn't be selling iPhones or iPad with only 16GB of storage, Android devices should not be allowed to have less than 2GB of RAM.
The screen is also a disappointment. It appears washed out, blurry (yes, I realize I'm not going to get a Retina-class screen at this price point) and is "sticky." That's kind of hard to describe, but imagine swiping down the screen of an iPad and how buttery smooth it is. Now, imagine swiping down the screen of this Acer and having your finger "get stuck" or kind of bounce along the screen akin to skipping a stone across a pond.
It seems that Acer designed this tablet to be used in landscape mode as evidenced by the logo and camera placement. That is fine except for the fact that Acer placed the speakers in the exact spot that you would have your hands when holding this tablet in said landscape mode. That makes for a suboptimal, muffled audio experience.
Other than that, this tablet is just generally slow. Switching from one app to another requires a level of patience I no longer have at my age.
Lastly, I'm not sure why every manufacturer has to include their proprietary bloatware. Stock Android is very nice and pretty much does everything that the bloatware tries to accomplish and, usually, better.
In conclusion, I think everything I've described is to be expected at this price point. I realize this is not the flagship Android tablet. However, if one can afford it, I would bump up to a tablet with better specs overall or try a different operating system.

Right out of the box it seems poorly made. First time dropped it completely destroyed the screen. Parts would have cost more than the tablet. I would also note it waS vert slow.

It cost under $100 because it's not a very good tablet. Super slow crashes all the time. I bought this for my kids but I spend more time fixing it than them playing on it.

Good Tablet for the price

This tablet comes with a Quad core CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 1200x800 IPS display, 32GB of internal storage with a Micro SD Card slot and Android 5.1. The device for its price is very good. The UI is very minimal in terms of changes from the Stock ROM which is a good thing because this is basically Vanilla Android but with a few slight tweaks done by Acer. The device I find to be slightly sluggish but at the price it costs and what you get inside I am not complaining. Other than that and the sub HD screen are pretty much my only issues with this tablet. I would of liked a Full HD display but this is good enough. I can easily use this tablet to watch Netflix, read my emails and surf the web.

The touch screen started not working right after only having it less than a month. Battery life was not very good either.

If you're on a budget & need a tablet, this is for you! It'll serve all your basic needs. Watching videos, reading PDF files & your common online tasks. It's not fat & heavy. It's a good sized screen. Although it doesn't feel sturdy, it is. This is also ideal as a starter tablet for kids or anyone not very tech savvy. Now I'm more of an Apple person. I have the iPad Pro. I love the iPad Pro more. But this Acer android based tablet isn't bad. Small memory though. Recommend buying a MicroSD card. Battery life is good, as long as you don't have a bunch of apps running, the battery life will last. So like I said, if you're on a budget, this is the tablet for you. If you can spend more, I would DEFINITELY just go for the iPad Air or Pro.

This is a budget Android tablet PC. Comes with 32 GB of onboard storage, a bright display and 10 hours of battery life. It was easy to set up. Only problem is I keep getting System Memory Low messages.

Good budget tablet

The Iconia One 10.1 is a good budget tablet with a couple of minor issues.
First, the good points: The initial out of the box impression is that the device is solid, despite its plastic chassis. Setup is easy with the standard Android setup experience. The screen looks good with decent resolution and plenty of brightness. The 32GB offers plenty of storage and battery life, so far, has been acceptable.
On the downside, the sound quality from both the on-board speakers as well as the headphone jack has been poor; volume is low and sound is flat. Shipped OS is Android Lollipop 5.1 with not too much bloat. However, the uninstallable System Doctor has been giving frequent memory usage alerts right out of the box.

The setup was really easy -- it even installed some of the apps I have on other android devices. It has nice fit and finish, it looks and feels pretty solid. The volume control is in a different place than it is on my old tablet or my phone, but it is easy to get used to. The tablet comes with a memory manager that constantly warns of excessive memory usage. I just ignore it, and I'll probably uninstall or disable it if I can. It doesn't seem to have actual performance issues, but I don't use it very heavily. For a secondary device to play games or stream music or movies, it's great. It's nice to have an extra screen that you can use to read, look up recipes while cooking, etc. I use it to stream Pandora to bluetooth speakers and it works all day. The battery life seems pretty substantial.

This tablet runs the newer 5.1 android which helps over the previous version. It is nice that it comes with 32gb and is expandable with a micro sd card unlike apple products. The split screen multitasking really makes this a pretty efficient tablet. It is still plastic feeling and could use more ram. 1gb of ram is simply not enough to handle games well. I also wish the screen resolution was higher. 1280 x 800 is pretty low buy today's standards.

Let me start by saying I'm not a tablet person. In fact, this is my first one. It has taken some getting used to. Navigation, etc. is reasonably intuitive and just takes some practice. It was very easy to set up. It gets good signal from a pretty good distance from the wifi source. The camera on it is cool. Very light. I may become a tablet person yet.
