This a OK budget tablet that would be great for a young child who doesn't need the newest high end tablet because you have a fear of breaking it. It has a decent screen and processor and can easily do simple task. This tablet is not built for multitasking because it only has 1 GB of ram. The system uses half of that so it doesn't give you too much freedom. It's great for internet use, youtube, and simple games. Anything more complicated and the memory becomes a issue.

There is nothing particularly wrong with this tablet, but also not much to like about it, either. It feels cheap and plasticy, because it is. Screen has a mediocre resolution of 1280x800. Speed is adequate with a quad core 1.3 GHz processor, as is the 32 gb of storage and 1 gb memory. Sound quality out of the speakers is ok, but not outstanding.
I could see this as a first tablet for a teen or younger, but not for much else.

Acer produces another great tablet

To satisfy my curiosity as I have the 2011 Iconia Tab A500 model, I took some time to compare the 2 tablets side by side.
The processor and video of the newer tablet are considerably better than the older model, naturally. Technology isn't standing still.
The grid that drives the touch-sensitive screen is much finer and less visible in the newer tablet. Tracking of finger-motion/taps seems improved and the finer grid means a lack of sometimes distracting patterns on web pages, some movie scenes, etc. I did notice a few times where my taps seemed to miss the mark but assume the tighter grid means better accuracy in screen taps.
Android 6.0 is quite an improvement over the 4.x version of the older tablet.
The basics like Bluetooth, cameras, WiFi, MicroSD card slot are still onboard in a slightly smaller [not quite as tall] case that feels somewhat lighter as well.
My primary usage for a tablet is email and web access, Netflix & books. The system excels at all of them; the faster processor [quad core vs. dual core] and better looking screen make for great Netflix watching. WiFi runs great too, no speed issues on my home network.
The only area that the older tablet seems to win is battery life though the difference between the two tablets is fairly small. Regardless, 8+ hours is fine with me!
If you are in the market for a tablet, the Acer deserves your consideration. In my use so far, it does everything well.

Reminds me of a $200 dollar Android telephone. It has full android and all of its qualities but the screen is lower quality (resolution and color), the processor is slower and there are some times when it seem unresponsive. If you only do one thing at a time on the tablet (netflix, single tab browsing or gmail) you will be fine. The form factor is nice and it comes with a nice stand.

Good Starter Tablet

Truth be told, I use both iPads and Samsung S2 tablets, so my expectations weren't that high. But upon opening the box, I found a good overall tablet that would be good as a basic travel tablet or a good starter tablet for kids. The graphics aren't the top but were more than adequate. The camera on the rear was also good for quick snaps and Skype. Again, it isn't in the league of the higher priced tablets, but then again it's not meant to be... Good overall tablet.

I have been using this tablet for a couple of days now.
The set up was relatively easy enough, took about 15 minutes. I had no problems adding email accounts and installing apps. I used the same apps as my Note7.
When powering on, after tablet was turned off, it took a little too long to come back on. I thought the tablet was dead. Waited a while and it finally powered on.
I also noticed a delay when touching different apps, waiting for programs to load. Web pages also had a delay while trying to load.
The battery life is my biggest concern. It does not last very long. I charged it one night and the next afternoon when I went to use it, it was completely dead. I have not had this problem with my other tablets.
The tablet is light weight. The plastic back makes it feel cheap. I was disappointed with the feel of this tablet. Does not feel like a quality item, in my opinion.
The camera is terrible. Very grainy. I don't usually take pictures with my tablet, so it's not a deal breaker, but I still feel it could have been better.
The charging cable is very short, which made it difficult to used while charging.
IF you are looking for a table to just check emails and surf the Internet, this tablet does the job. Anything more, I would go for a different tablet.

This is a review for the Acer Iconia One 10.1 Tablet. I was happy with the overall performance of the device and think it will hold up for most users needs. I think that the battery life could have been better but for use in between charging it was not too bad. The display is crisp and clear and the version of Android made it easy it to use. The start up time if the device is off is a little long for me. It is taking several minutes to boot up it seems. The resolution is not bad for the size but it could have been a little better for the size of tablet. I think for the market that this tablet appears to be geared towards it is okay. The included Kids Center software seems adequate for most younger audiences. I think maybe the kids Center software is the sweet spot for this device. A younger user is not expecting high performance and they are protected from being exposed to the unkid friendly areas of the web. I was really blown away to see the device have the office apps included. These are something usually reserved for higher end tablets or with limited use. The feel is a little child like with the plastic finish and silver accents but I think it is something you can get used to. I was happy to see it also included a stand for the tablet. This is a nice bonus and adds to the appeal. No complaints about the wifi speed. I think overall this is a good to great first tablet or maybe the next tablets for someone's child.

I feel this tablet would be good for a first time user or kids that you don't trust with a $400+ device.
It dose have good battery life. And it feels good in your hands. I like the white face and the textured back gives you a good grip on the unit making it less likely to drop.
And it's super thin.
Now for my dislikes.
The cameras are sub par. And don't take very good pictures. And the screen itself has a low resolution. becomes very sluggish when multitasking.
For this price point you do get a lot for your money.
So if you don't want to fork out $400+ for a higher end unit give this one a try.

I've had this table for a week and this is my opinion of it so far. This is not a bad tablet for what you pay for. It gets the job done if all you want to do is browse the internet, play app games, and watch videos. Out of the box, you can't help but notice the plastic backing of it. Feels a little weird and cheap at first but you get used to it. The cameras are average. Make use you have good lighting if you want to take pics. The 1 GB of RAM kinda limits the tablet from multitasking performance. As soon as you have multiple apps running, major lag starts to set in. Just kill the ones you're not using and you'll be fine.
Overall, this is a good tablet for its price but with its limits.

A decent Android tablet for general use

The Acer Iconia One 10 is an overall decent Android tablet. What kept me from giving it five stars is its performance and battery life. The initial startup was very slow and took a long time to complete. Once I got past that, the tablet operates generally well, but performance isn't consistent and I do experience software lag and slowness at times when using different apps or games. This is definitely not the right tablet for multi-taskers or those who will be using it heavily for gaming. However, using basic apps, web browsing, and viewing videos works pretty well. It also feels a little clunky when holding it, but again it's an overall decent tablet. If you're looking for one for basic functions, this is the tablet for you.

Nice Handy Tablet

I've been looking for a small tablet that was fast enough to do little things like Facebook, email, and other small tasks along with being light enough to hold while reading before bed. This tablet works perfect for that. The only negatives I found are that the wake up gestures don't work for me and I'm not sure why; but it's not a big deal to just tap the power button to wake it up, and the screen attracts finger prints like crazy. I find myself wiping the screen with a soft cloth every few minutes to keep it fingerprint free.
Other than that, this tablet is great and I really enjoy using it.

I haven't used an Android tablet in quite a while since my Nexus 7 tablet went missing on my way back home from travels about two years ago. It was by far the most wonderful companion I have ever owned. I took it everywhere with me, loved it's design, the quality of the display, and just how FAST it was at handling my tasks. Just typing about it makes me feel emotional... it really was an amazing product. The best part about it was it's price, it was surprisingly affordable. Alright, enough of that.
Acer's new Iconia One 10 marks the first time I have used an Android tablet since the informal departure of my beloved Nexus 7. Both at work and at school, I have always used iPad's. I don't like paying too much money for a device I know I won't be using that often for personal use, given that my smartphone can already do many of the things tablets do. At $129, the Iconia One 10 is perfect for the basic, everyday user. I do agree the build quality isn't top notch and the low screen resolution sometimes makes my eyes get disturbed by it's visible pixels, but there are other competitor tablets out there that cost almost double that suffer the same fate.
If you know you won't be putting on any heavy work on your tablet, don't justify having to spend more money on one than you need to. Otherwise, I would probably look towards getting either the Google Pixel C or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

Solid Tablet

With dozens of Android Tablets out there, this one is a solid contender at it's price point. It has the power to run all the apps I threw at it. It has a simple wizard that walks you through the setup... probably about 5 minutes to get the first setup.
The only non-5 star thing, is the edges are a little more "square" then other tablets, so you can feel it when in your hands a bit more... being used to the more rounded edges, it took a while to get used to.

Before I received this, I had read some not so great reviews of it so I went in not expecting a lot.
Aside from taking about 3 hours to run it's first update, this has been problem free and fully enjoyable to mess around with. I don't mind the memory message every now and then. It doesn't pop up for me to distract anything. I just see it when I close a few things. Haven't even paid attention to it.
It's pretty fast. I just play a few Facebook type games on it and they run just fine. The only thing I really notice between this and my Phone (also Android 6) is the colors aren't as rich. They're actually kind of dull. Maybe there's a setting for that so I'm not really complaining and probably wouldn't notice if I hadn't played the same game on my phone just before or after.
Overall it's a very functional, low priced tablet. I will probably get a case for it and stop using my older Ipad now. Much lighter and I love the Android operating system so that's a major plus. Right now it just sits on the included stand next to my PC for some quick gaming in between PC work.
Great product and highly recommend this without breaking the bank.

Easy to setup and probably all the average user needs. I wanted to download pics from an micro SD card and it took me several hours to figure out I needed a 3rd party file manager for this. I went to the Acer site to download the user manual but it wasn't there. I googled it and found it on a competitors site but still couldn't find a way to transfer files from the micro SD card so I downloaded a file manager and that works great. The best ones are not free but there are some such as Asus file manger that are and can do the job. That is my biggest issue, I have several Samsung and Asus tablets and all have a factory installed file manager.I did pay more for those though. Besides that I set up email with Outlook and it works great and doesn't delete the messages off my server. The audio isn't great while watching a video but with headphones it would be ok. Connecting it to the computer and transferring files works great and I feel certain that is all most people do. For the average user it is great for the price point. I am just trying to point out the short comings.

This Acer tablet is a great tablet for what I use it for, games, news, emails, streaming media. I have had other tablets that games like clash of clans doesn't work well on, but no problems on this Acer. Also I like the dual forward facing speakers. The tablet feels well made and durable.

As noted by one of the icons associated with this review, I am part of the Best Buy Technical Insiders Network. I was freely given this product in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. And a brutally honest review is what I'm about to give.
Admittedly, I am an Apple fanboy, and while we have plenty of PCs/laptops in the house, we are also very much an iOS-driven household. When this particular model came open, I was really excited in that I'm relatively unfamiliar with the Android platform and originally thought this would give me a chance to check out what non-Apple folks have raved about.
Further, keep in mind that I really don't have anything negative to say about the Android platform; what little I've had a chance to interact with it, it's a reasonable OS to navigate. What I want to address is Acer's rendition of the physical device.
Out of the box, this product simply feels cheap. The back is a slab of hard plastic, similar to what I'd find on a kid's toy. The front screen is less than what you'd find on even the current, cheapest iPad or iPad Mini.
But what's worse is not even the physical aspects of the device -- it's in the performance. Even when going into Google Chrome -- repeat, Google Chrome, Google's own browser on their own OS platform -- and pulling up various tech blogs, especially those with lots of graphics and media associated with a given post, the device simply slows down to the point that it becomes unusable. Frankly, if your device can't handle what's otherwise simple web surfing, then it won't handle anything beyond that at all. And this was using the device straight out of the box.
I really wanted to say something positive about this device, and I suppose what I can say is I'm glad I didn't personally invest the retail value of $150 into it. I would have immediately returned it because it is physically way underpowered even for the simplest tasks. Seriously, this isn't the budget device you want to buy.
Please, don't invest in this particular Android device. I'm really surprised Acer let this one get out the door in such a supremely underpowered device, because I don't think Acer is otherwise a bad brand in the slightest.
Instead, save your money and buy something at least twice or three times more powerful than this device. This Android tablet has made me glad our family has invested in Apple devices. Maybe a more powerful Android tablet could deliver better results, but this one is not it.

Purchased this for my 10 year old daughter as a gift after she dropped and ruined her apple ipad (2nd generation). I am happy to report this tablet does all of the things she did with her other tablet (the only difference I have noticed is a slight drop in resolution quality). For the price and my daughter's usage, it fits the bill. The price was right, the design is cool and it comes with an SD slot for extra storage (this is a huge feature as my daughter stores plenty of music, video and pics). Tablet was an absolute breeze connecting to my home Wi-Fi and my daughter's Bluetooth headset. Also, very decent speakers/sound output. In all, very pleased. Go ahead, buy one!
