If you are looking for an entry level basic Andriod Tablet, this one is for you. The screen size of 8" is in no way pocket sized (unless you have giant cargo pants), but it is nicer than the 7" and easier to hold than a 10" tablet. The Acer Iconia 8" tablet is good for email reading, web surfing, light app game play, and movie watching. The screen looks quite nice when watching movies and the battery lasted a good solid 6 hours with moderate use. The picture quality is poor with both rear and front cameras. The device was quick to set up and ready to go in less than 15 mins. It is great that Acer put the mac address on the outside of the box, making adding the new device to my network a breeze! Overall I would recommend this to someone who has never had a tablet or parents looking for an affordable device for children.

This tablet is very good for the cost. There are some shortcomings that are to be expected, but the bang for the buck is definitely there. Although the materials feel "plasitcy" and on the cheap end, the overall form factor is nice and light and can be held one-handed comfortably for a nice reading or video watching experience. If you are giving it to the kids, however, I recommend a case because it can feel a little slippery. Android 5.1 runs smoothly on the quad core processor and battery life with moderate use was pretty good for me. There are also some since software features and a ton of other Acer applications that you may or may not use. I personally enjoy the EZ wake feature. The camera, like most tablets is subpar and so is the speaker but neither outrageously so considering the price point. Overall I think that this is a great tablet for the price point. If you want to get a tablet but don't want to pay top $ you will not be disappointed.
