For a hundred bucks you definitely can't beat the deal on this tablet. It's got decent performance for the price. Like all Android devices I have ever used it can occasionally be sluggish, especially when downloads and updates are going on in the background. 16GB of storage is also good at this price point. I dropped in a 64GB micro SD card with no troubles whatsoever. Pros: I don't take many pictures with tablets, however, did take a few. Camera is pretty decent and camera App has quite a few features. Quad core processor is pretty snappy. Nice bright display. Fast wifi Connected to my 5GHz network. Had latest version of Android 5.1 loaded. Probably will never see version 6 but 5.1 is nice. Good battery life. I liked the EZ Wakeup double tap and 2 thumb gesture even if it didn't always respond on the first try. My 11 year old daughter tried out the Kids Center App and said that it was kind of neat even though it's probably geared towards kids a little younger. Cons: Back case was a hard textured plastic with an unimpressive feel to it. Would be nice to have more than 1GB of RAM so don't plan on heavy multi-tasking. But for the price you can't really complain. A lot of clutter on the desktop with many trial app icons. I understand they help pay the bills and they are easily deleted. Not sure what the bundled AppsGallery App adds beyond the play store. Seems like a waste of space but I understand that it recommends apps and probably also helps pay the bills. Don't care for the left swipe desktop app. There are not many options for feeds and it is not very configurable either. I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of. Other thoughts: They seem ok but did not try Bundled Acer Portal apps for syncing files, music and pictures with a PC. Overall this is a great value for an Android tablet and blows most other budget tablets away in terms of what you get for the price.

When I first purchased the Iconia One tablet, it had no sound at all. I returned it to Best Buy (Geek Sguad). Geek Squad checked it out and informed me the manufacturer requested its return so they could repair it. So, instead of just replacing the tablet and letting me go on my merry way with a fully functioning tablet, I had to wait over two weeks for them to repair it and return it to me

I bought this tablet for my daughter about 2 months ago. At first it was working fine but now it won't connect to our home wifi service. So I. Becker with others like at my school, Burger King etc...It just doesn't appear that be able or available to connect to any wifi and the little wifi signal icon went blank. Now I have to have to take it to the Geek Squad to have them check it out but the closest Best Buy to me is 1 1/2 hr drive. So I'm not really happy having to deal with this kind of tech problem so soon after purchasing it!!!! I just hope it's an easy fix. I'll be taken by it this weekend we shall see!!!!

Plenty of RAM and a nice responsive touch screen. I have had cheap tablets that maxed out RAM as soon as the bloatware updated. This is not stuffed with unwanted and unremovable apps

This tablet does what I want it to do, although it has pre-loaded functions i'm not interested in and takes up internal memory. I bought it for playing games and it does well for that, too many interruptions for advertising.

So far, this is a great basic tablet. It does everything I need it to do... e-mail, internet, apps, games, etc. And it's the perfect size to take on the go with you.

Good Price for tablet. Had an Iconia tablet prior to this one and it lasted 4 years until someone dropped it and the screen broke. Only issue I've noticed is the tablet runs hot when using it for awhile.

Bought because the price was a good deal. Used moderately over the years and never abused. 2 days ago wifi failed. Did reset to attempt to revive it, but now it will not come on further than to attempt to go online - completing the set up is impossible. Was a good tablet until this wifi failure. Camera was terrible all along. Now, I'm looking back to see what warranty may provide.

    Outstanding Budget Tablet

So far as budget tablets go this is a capable tablet. It’s not going to blow your socks off for any kind of serious gaming, but if you’re a casual gamer and are looking for I have had several budget tablets in the past, mostly for my kids, and the part that suffered most was the screen. The screen on this Iconia 8, in this price range, was a pleasant surprise. There are options in the MiraVision section of settings to adjust the screen including “Dynamic contrast” which plays some demo images where you can make live comparisons of the feature being on or off. It’s not a night-and-day difference, but it’s noticeable. The screen is not Gorilla Glass so I’d suggest getting a screen protector and or a case so that the screen is not exposed to being roughed up. The budget-ness also shows in that this is still running Android 5.1. That’s not necessarily bad, it’s still a capable version of Android. The interface is mostly stock with a few Acer tweaks. Namely, my family, especially our 2 kids, are especially fond of Android Multi User capability which gives each person their own home screen, apps, e-mail, etc. The Iconia 8 has, at this time, disabled that default Android option. Given its budget hardware that’s not surprising, and it’s only a minor nuisance if you plan to have multiple people use the same tablet who want to keep their settings, apps, and games separate from each other. You can still add multiple Google accounts if you’d like, that still works, you just can’t have individualized home screens and settings for multiple users. Of the 16GB storage, only about 10GB was free, so a sizeable chunk of your built-in storage is gone by default and there are only a few included apps that you can actually uninstall. Installing an SD card can help -- When you insert an SD card you will be prompted for if you want to set it to be the default write device. You can also change this later at any time in the storage settings. All apps on Internal and External continue to work, so you can mix and match and change the default write device at any time. Also, if you find yourself running low on one storage pool but not the other, you can use the Apps settings to move apps back and forth between internal storage and the SD card, so it’s pretty flexible in helping you make the best use of either. There are some included apps, and I found EZ Snap and EZ Wakeup to be pretty useful. EZ Snap is Acer’s way to help take screenshots of whatever is on the screen. You just do a 3-finger pinch and, bam, a copy of the screen is saved in the screenshots folder of your default storage. EZ Wakeup lets you control several ways of waking up the tablet without using the power button. This can be convenient or problematic depending on how you use the tablet. EZ Wakeup supports double-tap, two-thumb, or five-finger Wakeup methods. Double-tap and two-thumb just wakeup the device, but the five-finger method can be set to both wakeup the tablet and then launch directly into a selected application or Internet bookmark. From what I could tell you could select any installed application and at least Chrome bookmarks. It may be even more flexible than that but that was sufficient flexibility for me. Camera photos are acceptable if not great, and there is no LED for flash so you're always going to subject to available light. Videos are in the 3GP format which is not as common as MP4 in my experience but is common enough and useful. There are some nice photo options including a live-photo mode which takes a photo as a short 6-second movie that plays back as a short video, with a thumbnail of the "picture" in the bottom left corner of the movie, to playback a few seconds of when the photo was taken. At the end of the day it appears this is just a short video and there is not a standalone image that corresponds to the live-photo/video that you can share by itself if you wanted to. All-in-all a fine budget tablet entry suitable for casual users.

I bought two tablets for my kids, only used for about a month, one of them suddenly stop working, not turning on, we just see a black screen. Tried to do a hard reset but didn't worked. The problem also, was that I didn't get the extended warranty, bad for me. I am afraid that if I take it to be fixed it will cost me almost what I paid for it so I guess my only option would be buy a new one. This time will check for a different brand.
