We planned on getting a gift for a 13 year old boy and this was the perfect gift. He thought it was the best present ! So glad I bought this tablet.

Purchased this tablet for our 5 year old. The volume didn't work on the fist one we purchased. The second one stopped charging. If not for these known issues, I would say it's a good buy.

This is a great tablet for consuming streaming video, such as You Tube, Hulu, Amazon Video. The IPS screen is vibrant and easily viewable at just about any angle. The Sound from the tablet is great too, even though the speaker in the back, I had no problem hearing it, even when the kids where running around. Setup of the tablet is easy, esp. if you have a Google account already and the performance is very snappy, switching apps etc. It fit nicely in one hand and as I said the screen is great, esp. for streaming content. It also has a pretty nice kids mode, that can be used to lock out the other functions of the tablet. Though I didn't test it fully, I just noticed it was there. I also enjoyed the fact the tablet has an active GPS chip in. Nice to have location services for those apps that can use it. I didn't have any problem streaming for a day. Just worked flawlessly. When I was done testing it, I wiped it, very simple and gave it another family member to setup. They had no issues and had it setup and running in minutes. They enjoyed the screen too and even though they have slightly smaller handers are able to one hand it. Battery life seems great too. I was able to get a easily a whole day out of it with streaming and light web with a few games like Planets vs. Zombies 2 in between doing things around the house. The only thing I can give a knock for this device is the WiFi isn't on the AC band, but it didn't stop me from enjoying this tablet. If you are looking for a simple tablet with a great screen of the Android type I can highly recommend this as the one you are looking for. Impressive build and nice solid feel. It is a great device. the prices for this tablet is great in BestBuy. Good and easy to use. I use it for watch YouTube and read e-mail. It just does the jobs I want.

This was an upgrade from a previous second generation Android tablet I purchased a few years back, same basic form factor. The Acer Iconia One eight inch tablet is just about the right size, easy to handle and solidly constructed with a hard plastic back cover with squared somewhat rounded edges. I prefer this tablet over my previous Samsung which had fully rounded edges which made the device very hard to keep in your hand(s). The rear facing 5.0 camera does protrude quite a bit from the cover, almost like it was stuck on as an afterthought. The Quad-core processor performs fairly well, most programs operate without stutter and are fairly responsive, even though I usually don’t have more than one or two applications open at a time. The display is clear and somewhat crisp although not up to par with premium tablets. Camera performance is mediocre, with neither the front facing 2.0 nor the rear facing 5.0 megapixel photo sensors being anything special, more like a camera phone from 2010. The tablet OS (Android 5.1) is easy to use and is vastly improved for tablet use (my previous Android tablet was essentially using a phone OS). Acer includes some bloatware, some of it useful and some not, however it is easy removed and/or moved once you start personalizing the tablet. Wi-Fi seems tricky; I had some problems with dropped connections that seemed to occur on the 5ghz band. Also seems when the tablet is stationary (for instance when viewing a movie) dropouts do not occur, strange and sometimes annoying. Pros: Android Lolipop 5.1, fairly responsive, nice form factor and design, long battery life, front facing charge indicator (red while charging, green when fully charged), value priced. Cons: Poor quality speaker, protruding rear facing camera lens, screen has edge light leaks when displaying dark screens, Spotty Wi-Fi performance. In conclusion this is a bargain basement tablet that performs fairly well and shouldn’t be mistaken for a top of the line tablet. I’d say wrap this thing in a childproof case and give it to the kids to use, you’ll feel much better if this breaks as opposed to a $400 model.

So far the experience with this tablet has been very good. I bought it for my son and he plays with it all day long, I had to install a 64gb SD card because the internal storage is only 16gb and Android core apps take almost all the storage available which is always the same problem I encounter with any Android device and this tablet is no exception. The tablet is very good for kids and if you are a parent looking for a nice gift for your kids you can get this one for sure... Just don't forget to get a cover to avoid any damage.

After searching for a tablet that would not cost me a arm and a leg, Best Buy had this one. Main use is for a Drone. Did not have to spend 250.00+ and the Arcer works just fine.

My elderly father uses this daily. It was a great purchase and for the money a great buy. After a month is seems to be well made.

It does the things I want a tablet for, streaming radio to bluetooth and downloading and reading books. Also playing a few games.

This tablet is great for travel. It is lightweight and easy to hold while working on internet. Great for games. Highly recommended.

We purchased this for a family member. It's a snappy, and easy to use tablet for her to check facebook, email, and take pictures.

Seems to be fine. I am learning more about as I go along. I mainly wanted my Kindle books on it but am glad it does a lot more.

I love it! It is convenient and stylish. Good quality, speed and performance. Holds 8 or 16 gigs of memory, lots of useful apps.

This has been a good tablet for our 2yr. Works great and connectS to Internet every time.

It's a little slow but it is reliable. The camera has a lot to be desired! All around though it not bad for beginners

This Acer tablet is a good deal for the price. It's pretty solid over all. The screen is nice and crisp. The cameras aren't great by today's standards, but it's a budget tablet, it's expected. The pictures are okay, make sure you have good lighting. Battery life is decent, and charge time was low. I connected on 2.4 and 5.0 GHz frequencies with no problems and had good connections. Downloads where fast and web pages, full or mobile, loaded fine. It only has a mono speaker on the back, so sound is poor. Headphones work fine with it. 16GB or internal storage is decent. The micro SD clot lets you add more space if needed. The device can cast to other devices too. It responds decently and works well to touch. Watching video was good, but use headphones due to the single speaker. Setup was the usual Google Android procedure. There is an option to load some addition Acer software, but you don’t have to take it. The additional software loaded has some nice features like a screen capture ability, but some bad ones too. One will automatically download apps it thinks you will like based on usage. The tablet does not have a restart option, just power off or it’s on. It feels light over all, and has a plastic body. Within a few hours of using the device I got a blue line down the right side of the screen that will not go away. So, it’ll need replacement. The 8” screen size is a nice in between size. It can fit in a big jacket coat if needed or a cargo pocket. Big enough to see things better, but not so big it’s unwieldy. Overall, it’s a get what you pay for tablet. Decent specs and functions for an under $100 tablet with a 8” screen. So, there are trade offs. It’s nice for using around the house. The drawbacks don’t make it a standout device. It would be good for kids and has some kids programs preinstalled. It’s a middle of the road tablet.

Got this tablet for my spouse to access weather info on the job, has only had problems getting wireless connection once, so is basically pleased with his tablet.

The camera resolution and screen quality is very good. The price is very reasonable for the feature on the product.

It was surprised that a cheap tablet could be so fast and smooth. looks great, works great. my niece likes it!
