My positives: fast, love the lit keyboard, love the big screen, it doesn't get hot from use, I can easily get to all my programs that I need for work. My negatives: it is very heavy(even the power cord is heavy) & the battery doesn't last nearly as long as my older laptop.

Just bought this laptop on Monday 12/18/23. It has been the local Best Buy’s display for over a year! Spoke to one of the merchandise team members who at first told me this was completely sold out. I started to look at some of their other options and noticed he was still standing at the display. He then grabs his manager as she’s walking but and talks to her for just a few minutes. He looks over and tells me he can sell the display. I asked if it was any cheaper to buy the display and he tells me it’s on clearance as an open box for $82.99!!!!!!! This thing runs like it’s the first day out of the box. I couldn’t be happier! I would have been perfectly happy paying the original clearance price of $267 but getting it for less than $100!!!! Outstanding!!!!

They lied to me about the battery life; it is only about two hours, which was a big miss for me when I bought it. I love how the keyboard lights up, and it runs all of the games I like the play very smoothly and the graphics are incredible. It also loads my big documents online very well. The computer stays cool no matter how much I am running on it, and overall it is a nice computer that I am keeping. I just am pretty sad about the battery life, and it is a very bulky computer, it's hard to carry around and transport and it is heavy.

Was tired of paying for a cloud PC for gaming, especially VR gaming. Decided to bite the bullet and purchase this Nitro 5 laptop for my gaming needs, and was not disappointed. It plays all the games I've been itching to play or finish, like Half-Life Alyx and Cyberpunk 2077. It's also great that you can update the RAM and add more storage quite easily. Which will be a future project of mine. So, far I'm enjoying it and happy with the purchase.

The first thing that one needs to figure out, is what is the intended purpose of your computer or laptop. This is crucial, it can help you save money and not be stuck with something that doesn't do/ or is has a bunch of options and features that may or may not be something you want. Once you have an idea of what you want, find the right balance of performance and compatibilities for your other devices. You want to make sure that your device can have a party with all of your other devices. Laptop computer and Tablet shopping can be a little overwhelming or downright frustrating. Especially if you don't know what you need. Key things to keep in mind: Memory is important, so you want storeage, RAM is also important. Is the product going have the latest os already or is it going to be a previous edition. Does it feel comfortable and are you able to hold it comfortably?

    Amazing Gaming Laptop

I am really impressed with this Acer Nitro 5 computer gaming laptop. It comes with a nice 15.6” full HD screen with 144Hz IPS panel that really brings out the graphics nicely. These graphics are supported by NVidia’s 4gb of memory solely for this purpose. Coupled with this is the Intel Core i5 processor and 16GB of RAM. I was a little disappointed that it only had 512 GB of storage, but then realized that it is plenty enough for my needs and the games that I play. This is a really solid built laptop. The chassis feels really durable and solid, yet not too heavy to hold. The hinge feels really strong and adjusts smoothly. The keyboard is a really gem as it adjust colors, has great key travel and the keys feel really soft to touch. What is really great is that it has Thunderbolt 4 port, a USB 3.2 gen 1 port, 2 USB 3.2 gent 2 port, Ethernet, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The plug in for the power adapter is in the rear of the computer which is a godsend so that I can easily move around the laptop without being bothered by the power cord. Now the gaming experience. This has been such a joy to game on. I play only. A few games, mostly the HALO series and I let my son come and play his TF2 and Roblox games. It has been such a great experience, flows well with not throttling or slowing down. The Full HD experience comes with 1920x1080 resolution and looks amazing to play. Playing HALO Reach has been a great re-living experience and the graphics and game play is so amazing. I downloaded the es,ntire Master Chief Collection as well as the Halo RTS games and still had plenty of space. Using as a regular laptop has also been a positive experience. Using it for all my Microsoft Office products, zoom meeting and even searching the web has been fun and fast. The only issue that I had encountered with this laptop has been the battery life, ranging around 2-3 hours when not plugged in. So I recommend having your power brick and charger near by when on this. Overall, great overall laptop that I have enjoyed gaming and doing work related tasks. Definitely one of the best investments.

I recently purchased the Acer Nitro 5 and I'm thrilled with its performance. The powerful hardware and dedicated graphics deliver smooth gaming experiences. The 144Hz display and comfortable keyboard enhance gameplay. While the build quality is budget-oriented, it's an excellent choice for budget gamers. Great value for the price! However I would suggest considering a higher SSD storage space.

I've had this laptop for a year. So far, it is an excellent gaming laptop. I can play new release games without issue. It has the typical issues that a laptop has. For particularly beefy games, the fans can be loud and it can get a little warm. I would recommend investing in a SSD card as 500gb is not enough space. It seems relatively easy to install yourself or you can commision geeksquad to install it. Overall, its a good budget gaming laptop.

This is a great entry level gaming laptop. It has great specs for the price, I couldn’t find anything else close for the price. The case is solid and the keyboard is nice for a laptop keyboard. The battery is fine but the i oy drawback for about 3 a 4 hoirs of normal use but if you run the gpu dont expect the bsttrry tonlast more then an hour. The laptop is also super bulky and heavy, dont expect it to be bery portable.

This laptop is GREAT! Definitely more bang for the buck for keeping under 1k. Haven’t had any issues out of it. The processor is very fast and the RTX 3050 has been wonderful upgrade from what I was using. You wouldn’t think it’s only got 4gb of video memory. I highly recommend this laptop to people taking steps into pc gaming. Slacking on battery life but that’s legit the least of my worries. And under heavy gaming sessions it does tend to get hot. But still wouldn’t trade out for anything else under 1k

good quality, good gaming preformance only issue i had with the machine is that the left fan for the gpu is starting to whistle a little bit, but thats manageable can easily handle rtx and can do some more heavy video editing, battery life is kinda iffy but then again you are intended to use this machine attached to power practally 24/7

I absolutely love this computer! I love how fast it is and how smoothly it runs. I have had no problems running games like I had with previous computers. I mainly play The Sims 4 on it and in the past, when I would add on more packs, the computer had slowed down and glitched, but not with this computer. It is still running as well as it did the first day I got it, which was 2 years ago.

Solid choice for a laptop. It is heavy duty, with fast performance. The customizable lights on the keyboard are fun. I am able to play Minecraft and the Sims on this laptop without a problem. Can get a little warm for extended game play but I use a cooling pad and can play for hours.

Stellar! The performance mode makes my games run like absolute butter. It's just a little loud, but overall I love it. There's not a game I've installed that run under 60fps. The built in lighting options for the keyboard is stellar. I definitely recommend this device for anyone who is a gamer that has to travel, doesn't have enough space to fit an entire gaming PC build, and/or simply prefers an affordable setup.

If you need maximum storage options look no further. This laptop has 3 hard drive slots available and 2 of them are empty. It has 2 NVME gen 4 slots and one 2.5 inch hard drive slot. The great thing about it is that you can use all 2 at the same time. I'm currently using the 512 GB drive that came with it alongside a 2TB NVME Gen 4 drive & a 4TB SSD. I also upgraded the ram to 32GB because I edit videos and this works great. It has greatly enhanced my workflow.

I was looking for a laptop that would not break the bank, still play popular titles decent, and still be able to perform daily tasks with no issues. This laptop did not disappoint. The last time I bought a laptop was back in 2012. A 13 inch Macbook Air, which to this day, still works and I still use. I have a great gaming desktop, but I needed something mobile in the first floor due to my new kid. The 15.6 inch screen is amazing and the 144hz refresh rate is smooth as butter. I play this laptop a lot in the daytime and the brightness does not disappoint at all. I am an AMD fanboy, but the intel i5 runs multiple tasks with no hiccups! The 3050 Ti runs my main game, League of Legends, on medium settings maxing out at 230fps! AMAZING. I really did not want to go below 16gb of RAM as I believe that's the new norm. For the price, I don't blame the memory stick only being 512gb, but I believe you can upgrade the memory down the line. The battery on high settings barely lasts 2 hours, but it's a gaming laptop, what do you expect? The NUMBER ONE thing about this laptop? QUIET. It almost feels like it's not on. When I'm deep in battle in a game, the fan MIGHT turn on. Even my wife's impressed. That says a lot!

I was skeptical buying this laptop because it uses an i5 cpu. To my surprise this laptop is fast, and the i5 is 12th gen. It comes with 10 cores, that’s pretty powerful on its own. Not to mention this i5 runs faster then some of the i7 series. The graphics card isn’t the most powerful, but it does a great job running games. I must throw out a warning, don’t expect to run ultra high settings, this laptop runs everything well with medium settings. If you are looking to get a solid gaming laptop, without blowing a hole in your wallet, this laptop is for you.
