I recently got my hands on the Acer Predator Helios 300, and I have to say, it blew me away. Haven't done any gaming in quite some time, but this laptop is making it fun again. Super fast, lots of RAM, and cool lighting options.

Thought I had a great laptop. Loved all the specs etc. Had it for less than 2 weeks. Kept it on a nice stand with lots of ventilation. Didnt push the cpu/gpu, never even hit the turbo button. Used it for light gaming. Then suddenly it just wouldnt turn on. Bricked. No screen. No nothing. Power says its going to the laptop and has full battery charge but literally wont turn on. A 1k brick lol. Then i googled it and apparently this is an ongoing issue for the past few years with the Helios model. Ridiculous. Will probably return after i call Acer customer support and see what they say.

I will say the only reason why this gaming laptop is great is because of the Black Friday sale without the Black Friday sale I would say $1500 is way too much for what you get out of the this laptop. Also it collects fingerprints very easily and hard to remove them.

Bought this laptop, the third week i got it, it will not charge at all, so i send it to acer and repair it, when i got it back, it seems working until the next week. Last week i sent it to best buy repair center, and i got it yesterday. Guess what, the next day i got it, dame issues appeared, THREE TIMES Not only that, the entite laptop freeze randomly, blue screen randomly, and shut down randomly DONT GET IT

This computer is a great, the screen is clear and crisp and its super fast, it has the ability to be upgraded which is a great plus as well. Now the bad part Its supposed to come with 3 months of xbox gamepass but it only came with one. BestBuy customer support refuses to cooperate and make it right even though the page for the computer clearly advertises it as well as when its shown on a list of laptops in stock as well. I also never got my code for COD MW2 and I dread having to call in for that as well because I'll just be told I'm wrong. I'll probably never buy a laptop or anything else from Bestbuy again if I can help it due to this terrible customer experience and I'll make sure I never refer anyone to buy anything here either.

I waited for over a year to get this on sale. Best laptop I have had for the price. I have owned two other Predators and never had any issues that could not be resolved with factory support or warranty. I got it for $1000 so it literally was the best laptop I could find for the price. The display is amazing, just so clear and sharp. I wanted a 240hz or 320hz screen, but the 165hz works fine. I can play almost all games in 4k at Ultra. This was well worth the long wait. Throw in the RGB and the killer sound card and it's a something that will last you quite a few good hard years of use and look great doing it. The more stealth look they are going for now is really nice. The Black and Blue takes some getting used to after a Red Menace build, but is a more stealthy look. Best laptop for the price I have ever used. I playtest games on all kinds of setups and computers, so I know a great product. It does get a bit hot on one side during full load, but my old MSI did that too. Just get one and game right out of the box. The only point I had is the storage, but I put in a 2tb Evo 980 as a secondary. Pretty easy to install more memory at home, but I recommend using a factory authorized tech to install any aftermarket items to keep your warranty valid. If you upgrade to 32gb Ram this machine just goes to the next level. No need for more than the 16gb installed, but for higher loads it takes the 32gb and becomes a monster. Because of the high wattage rating on the 3060 it runs better than a 3070 I have in another build. This particular model had only been a UK available build, so it's a great to see it available here in the US. There are a flood of 3060 laptops on the market, but this computer has one of the best power ratings in it's class. Just get it if you want one of the top 10 PCGamer rated laptops of 2022. It was rated best laptop under 1400 by several other outlets, and it lives up to it fully. I have recommended this computer to at least 10 people and they all love it.

Right from the start the Acer Predator Helios 300 is stunning to look at! The packaging for the laptop is beautiful and looks like a piece of art. The computer itself looks powerful even off and closed. I quite enjoyed the process of setting up this computer from unboxing to startup. Initial set up for windows took around 2hours for me to customize. (I’m very particular about how my computers are customized.) I really love that I can change the keyboard colors to suit my mood or turn them off in the settings. You are also able to turn off the start up sounds, which if you live with others, they will appreciate that when you're gaming late at night. My older laptop could no longer handle any of my online games I enjoy playing. With the Predator Helios 300 that is a problem for the past! The graphics card, processor, and screen refresh rates let me play DOTA, Planet Zoo, and Minecraft with friends online better than ever for sure! The graphics are beautiful and it’s been a joy to play my favorite games online again in ways I have not experienced before. Keep in mind this is a gaming laptop, there are multiple fans to cool the processor and graphics card which can be on the louder side, but not unbearable to hear. It also has some weight to it making it feel sturdy and well built. With heavy gaming I get around 2.5 hours on battery. (The power brick to charge the battery is the largest one I have ever seen for a laptop in all my years!) So far several weeks in I can honestly say I’m very thrilled with the Acer Predator Helios 300. It’s a fantastic gaming laptop!

i’ve had this laptop for a good while now and i had no problem with it before an one day my laptop just stopped working. The display doesn’t turn on nor the light on the keyboard

Screen stopped working in 6 months then would not turn at all a few weeks later. Daughter using at college and they want her to send it in and get back in maybe a few months!

A good laptop, a good discount, with a good matrix .... stated in the description. In fact, on a black screen, the matrix illumination is very noticeable, especially in the upper left corner, which indicates that the matrix does not fit uniformly to the plastic frame of the screen. I write as it is, nice keys and touchpad, quiet cooling system, but the screen in dark scenes spoils the whole impression of the device. it’s a pity that I didn’t have enough money for a gigabyte aero 16 with an amoled matrix, this would not have been possible there.

I love this gaming laptop. I previously had a Nitro. Which I liked as well but this one is way better, the speed is impeccable. The graphics are clear. I play The Sims 4 and GTA online and it’s the best experience. I will say it gets hot but the fan cools it off quickly. Best purchase for my needs. Battery life goes fast when I’m playing the Sims, so I have to keep the charger plugged up. Functional and small enough for me take anywhere. It comes in a nice black box and an included laptop case.

Great little gaming laptop!! Pros- the i7-12700h is a powerhouse and eats up all ive thrown at it! No issues so far to report with the cpu. The screen- is nice and vibrant for a FHD display. The nits brightness was better then i expected and helps while playing in a little brighter rooms like i often do. Rgb keyboard- is nice and in my opinion bright enough. There is a down side which i will cover in the cons. Ram- more then adequate for my gaming needs and is mighty fast! Dont forget this is upgradable to 32 GB as well Fans-do a great job at keeping both CPU & GPU nice and cool under load Cons- rtx 3060 6GB- though it is well enough to play warhammer darktide on high quality and manage around 75-90 frames per second. The second i turn on ray tracing even on low it kills the frames. Not a deal breaker for me but i would have definitely stepped up to the 3070 or 3070ti laptop for a little better ray tracing experience RGB keyboard- not alot of choices for the colors selection. You cannot individually select the color per key. Not bad but would of loved to see more customization options Fans- fans can be a bit loud while under heavy gaming sessions. But thats to be expected in a laptop. Overall a great gaming laptop with room to upgrade the ram to 32 GB of ddr5 and 2 m.2 slots Though it might not be for everybody's needs if you are looking for a laptop that can handle most if not all AAA games at FHD and light ray tracing this is it I did get this during Christmas 2022 for only 1000.00$ and its definitely worth it at that price point!!

This gaming laptop is outstanding. From the moment I unboxed it, I knew it was meant for business by how large the power supply is. Comparable to a portable car jump starter, it’s ginormous for an average laptop, so we see that Acer isn’t playing here. Fitted with the latest i7 Intel CPU, an RTX 3060 graphics card, 16GB RAM, a well designed cooling system, and a bright 15.6” non-glare 1080p g-sync screen running at 165hz, it can smoothly handle some of the most demanding games without a hitch. There’s a higher resolution screen that’s also available, but I prefer 1080p for faster/smoother gaming, plus I think this has a higher refresh rate. However, if you have a 4K monitor or TV, it’s an easy hook up with the HDMI 2.1 port, DisplayPort 1.4, or USB-C 3.2 port available in the rear. On the sides, you’ll find three USB-A 3.2 ports, a headphone port, and an ethernet port. Keep looking around the perimeter of the laptop and you’ll notice large fan vents on the bottom, sides, and rear, ensuring there’s enough airflow to keep things cool. Press the Turbo button and you’ll hear the full jet engine-like wrath of those fans, but thankfully I’ve never had to use it, and during regular game play I barely hear the fans at all. It’s nice to have just in case though… From Elden Ring, to Forza Horizon 5, to CyberPunk 2077, and a ton of Hades, this laptop does not hiccup. Graphic settings were mostly maxed out or near max and even in long gaming sessions gameplay kept smooth. Something great about a gaming laptop like this is how easy it is to move around, and we had an absolutely amazing time setting this laptop up outside with a projector. Marathon gaming sessions and streaming movies outside on a beautiful night.. I can’t wait for the Fall. Sound is a bit humbling here as the speakers sound OK, but don’t really match up to the level of everything else. The speakers get reasonably loud, and sound much better if you turn on “enhance audio” in the Windows sound settings, but the overall acoustics and tone are just run of the mill. DTS spatial encoding is included, which helps things sound better, but is much more beneficial when connected to another set of speakers or headphones. Design and build wise, it’s mostly a plastic affair, but well put together all around. The fit and finish is tight and it’s a relatively hefty package, especially with the power supply. I think of it more as a portable gaming rig than a portable laptop, but that’s mostly due to the weight. I wouldn’t want to carry this around work or campus all day, but you certainly could if you wanted to. The battery life isn’t very long either, but I’ve only tested it gaming, which is power hungry, so it’s not a fair evaluation. I generally don’t care for a lot of the lights on gaming PCs and accessories, but I like how it’s implemented here. Maybe it’s the black keys, but the keyboard is colorfully backlit and easily customizable in the PredatorSense app which adds a nice contrast to the layout. Typing on it felt like I was typing on my old 2010 MacBook Pro, which isn’t a bad thing. Overall, this is an outstanding gaming rig that’s well built and gets the important things right. It’s a bit hefty for a laptop, but serious gaming rigs will be like that, and this one does not disappoint. If you’re looking for a quality portable gaming laptop, I highly recommend the Acer Predator Helios 300 series. It will be 3 years this Nov. 2025 since I got this laptop back in Nov. 2022. It’s still running strong, and without any problems. More than enough for my needs, gaming, movies, video/photo editing, file archiving, and document creation for school or work. Battery life is my only drawback since it’s a powerful laptop, it can only last a few hours with battery. Luckily, I use this plugged-in 99% of the time as my main office and all-in-one computer.

Purchased this over an MSI due to the price and am not diappointed. Runs MW2 Ground branch GR Wildlands NFS and Forza fantastic. Love the turbo button for rapid cooling when gaming for long periods of time. Turn it on for 30 seconds and temps drop rapidly. Fan noise during gaming with the factory setting isnt loud at all. Processing speeds are nice as well. Super happy wih this purchase and after a few years when upgrade time comes again I will buy Predator. Would recommned this laptop.
