great for gaming and ray tracing

The Acer Predator gaming desktop is a great gaming machine, with wonderful ray tracing performance and the ability to run whatever application I throw at it.
Hardware-wise, this is a nicely built machine. The case looks sleek and is great on display. Both the panels on the front and side are transparent so you can see into the case. What’s nice about this machine having transparent panels, outside of being able to see the internals, is that Acer went all out on the RGB. Plus, with Acer’s “PredatorSense” app, there are 16.7 million colors to set the RGB to. This machine is air-cooled—two fans on the front, one in the back, and one on top of the CPU. It would be a nice upgrade to swap the CPU cooler to liquid cooling or add another fan, but I personally don’t think it’s necessary off the bat. It includes a keyboard and a mouse which are fine but it is a nice inclusion if you don’t already have your own.
This machine comes with plenty of input/output for whatever needs to be connected. In terms of USB, it has 1 USB C and 3 USB A (both USB 3.2 standard) on the top of the machine, and 1 USB C and 5 USB A on the back which is plenty for whatever peripherals I have (I am a gamer and a musician so hooking up a lot of gaming accessories, microphones, synthesizers, etc.) In terms of video input/output, the graphics card has 3 DisplayPort 1.4a and 1 HDMI 2.1 ports which should be enough for hooking up a few monitors or even a television. If you are into competitive gaming, the machine includes a low latency ethernet port and WiFi 6e for fast wireless speeds.
This prebuilt computer includes an Intel Core i7-13700F which can handle basically any gaming scenario and many other application types. It has 16 cores, 24 threads, and has a max frequency of 5.20 GHz. With these specifications, it can handle a number of different use cases, including gaming, video editing and rendering, graphic design, and other CPU intense workloads. It includes 16gb of DDR5 RAM which is more than enough for most applications. But it also includes two additional memory slots to upgrade if you need it. It includes 1tb of storage but has 2 additional M.2 interfaces if you want to add additional storage. I found that 1tb is enough to have a handful of games, but if you are the kind of person who wants to have a bunch of games/files saved at the same time you may need to upgrade quickly.
The 3070 graphics card is great for 1080p gaming. Getting a NVIDIA card is wonderful because you get great ray tracing performance and also DLSS if you want to squeeze more frames out of your hardware. I think based on the game releases from the past year that the 8 gb of VRAM included in the card may not be enough for much longer, but for now it can run any triple A game no problem. If you are willing to sacrifice frames, it can even run some things at 1440p/4k (though don’t expect as great of performance).
Overall, this is a great machine with a lot of opportunity for upgrading and tinkering which should keep it relevant for the foreseeable future.

The Acer Predator Orion 500 is a gaming device that has me drooling over the power and left me impressed. It has an excellent balance of power, upgradability, and performance. The raw power and graphics from the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 running off the Intel Core i7-13700F processor, using 16GB of DDR5 memory, makes this desktop a mammoth of a machine. Any new title I downloaded or streamed played flawlessly. The most notable con for me right off the bat, though, is when companies offer a machine like this with only 16GB of RAM. This machine is not an internet browser and needs more. I want to highly recommend upgrading the RAM immediately. This unit needs at least 32GB to really spread her wings. For testing purposes, I ran the computer for a few days prior to upgrading, and the review is based on the for sale model, which, again, is a beast. Using a free benchmarking tester, this device consistently scored 10880 a setup using Windows 11 version 22H2 with a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700F 2.10GHz with 16 GB on a 3070. There is of course, better out there, but this device will compete with those on any playing field. Very solid and commendable benchmark performance. Even at 16GB, everything was beautiful, and load times were insanely fast. The blazing fast 1TB Gen 4 SSD provides an excellent amount of storage that also enables rapid load times. This will sound like a fanboy statement, but load times on games that I play every day were cut in half or are almost now non-existent. The case is iconic and offers a user-friendly design with an EMI-compliant side panel. For instance, when I did add the aftermarket RAM, it took me about six whole minutes to do so. In years past, that was a much longer process and even once cost me two screws and a power switch. I enjoy the Predator Sense utility that comes pre-downloaded on the unit. It allows you to monitor your systems, overclock your components, create macros, and customize the RGB compatible components. The cooling fans are probably the best I have ever personally used. The ARGB-infused FrostBlade 2.0 fans are definitely a conversation starter. The case's airflow design is sleek, and you can almost see the stifling air exiting from the interior core of the unit when you rev the fans up. I am even a fan of the included RGB mouse and keyboard. I personally use a higher end gaming mouse and higher end gaming keyboard. So I now have the coolest mouse and keyboard at my office.
In conclusion, the Acer Predator Orion 5000 is a sensational gaming setup that delivers on all fronts. The computer offers incredible power, stunning graphics, and superior interior cooling in a case that encourages you to make it do more. This is a stellar deal for a stellar device.

+ Pros
Core i7-13700K – This processor is one of the best for gaming for the price point.
Case offers a lot of space, can easily add additional RAM or HD space.
Fans are large and quiet; cable management is neat.
Not loaded up with 3rd party software
-Cons
Hard drive space is only 1TB with ~850gb of space out of the box.
Ram is only 16GB out of the supported 64GB
RTX 3070 RTX may not be a future proof 4k card with only 8gb of RAM but is definitely enough for you to run the latest game available with DLSS support
Summary
Acer put a lot of thought into picking the components for this pc, it may not off the highest performance but, it will give you the most bang for your buck. Comes with a Keyboard and Mouse that is, “ok” if you already shelling out for this amount of money, I would recommend to switch both keyboard and mouse with something that can provide your gaming needs. but is a nice prebuilt machine that is well built and easy to plug and play. playing Halo infinite on low preset on 1080p gives a great performance for me I get atleast 120fps to 110fps seems like some area are a little bit demanding even tho settings are set to low, on medium settings runs great as well still 120fps or above I do see it will eventually drop to 90fps sometimes which is more than playable for 1080p gaming. on high setting highest so far i’ve gotten is 115fps and it could drop to 80 on some area of the map. i’m using MSI afterburner on this test. i’m currently addicted to starfield so at the moment no DLSS to help for performance on low setting you still get 60fps thiny bit above and on medium I got about high 70 which is still alright. overall solid PC, it looks great 3070 holds up prob a pc best for Valorant but didn’t test that one

Acer keeps up with competition with this system

I have used a lot of gaming systems from top brands and this system is no slouch. Acer truly delivered a powerhouse gaming PC with all the bells and whistles. The blazing fast speeds from the i7 137 processor and putting this to the test, it ran for hours straight on some of the most demanding games I set it up with and never glitched or paused. The graphics were smooth and noticeably on par with some of the other high profile systems I have used and this coupled with the speed helped me to stay ahead of most of my gaming peers in all sorts of games. The system itself is pleasing to look at and includes a sharp visible drive and colorful additions to make it truly pop. The accompanying keyboard and mouse were nice additions and helped to make this system easy to use and competitive with other systems I have used. This is a definite game changer when it comes to reasonably priced systems and I would highly recommend the ease of set up and use this system brings. Nice work Acer, truly a pleasure to play with.

Exceeded Expectations

The system was a pleasant surprise in the current world of disappointments.
First thing I did after firing it up (Which was a pretty fast startup) was to change the LED lighting to light blue. Just my preference.
This was easily done with the Predator Sense program that is installed.
Second was to check is the cable management.
I’m usually bothered over this but this time there was no complaints at all.
Everything neatly done.
I added a second HDD (4TB) and was ready to start fishing cables to hook up but...
The tray the HDD went to already had the cable hookups attached to end of tray.
All I had to do was put HDD in tray and slide it in. Perfect!
Fired up the PC and drives was detected and off we went.
Deleted/formatted the drive and in a few minutes, I was transferring my STEAM games from main drive to the 4TB drive. (I also added a 1TB M2 drive which was also a breeze)
System:
At idle the temps were a tad high for my liking but not bad.
However, you can easily go into the previously mentioned program called “Predator Sense” and select a different fan profile or create your own custom one.
Right now at Idle (just browsing web etc) after adjusting fans
CPU: 41c
GPU:28c
System: 30c
Running Baldurs Gate 3:
CPU: 74c
GPU: 33c
System: 34c
FPS while playing BG3 were well over 100, outside and in dungeons.
This was with no overclocking etc.. just out of the box.
I do recommend updating to latest Nvidia Drivers.
After you update your GPU drivers you should restart the PC.
If not, the Predator Sense program will not show GPU temps. At least that’s what happened to me.
It has now been a little over a week of constant use and still running great.
Final thoughts are this system is well worth obtaining. I couldn’t be happier.

Great computer, from the start plays even cod as 200-220 at low settings. 100-160 at high. The pc usally runs at almost 100c and. And if your like me and upgraded the gpu. It runs hot. I added two top echuast fans that made it okay for summer. Pc still runs hot but acer advertises "its upgradeble" its not. Motherboard is old, comes with no usb port ( use for aio cooler) actually dosent really come with much to upgrade besides adding two fans. Its a good prebuilt to get in. Horrible to do anything with later.
