I wanted a computer that I could use for work with a fair price and I'm really impressed by how great the Chrome OS is. Before this, I had used Mac and Windows. In my opinion, this gives you a user friendly experience similar to Mac without the maintenance of a Windows machine because the Chrome OS comes with a built in virus protection. If you already use gmail, this machine makes it so much easier to synchronize your work. Not to mention, it's really cool that it's a touchscreen computer that you can fold into a tablet for a great price.

Let me first start this off by saying that this is indeed a Chomebook in that it does not have the same capabilities that people often find and take for granted in Windows/Apple OS. First, this laptop is beautiful in the color, texture, material, and the general slenderness of it makes it a beautiful piece of work. The screen looks great and this PC has the capability of turning its screen 180 degrees for versatile viewing points. The tablet mode is gorgeous and there are no particularly annoying nuances when it is in tablet mode (i.e. no keys get in the way and of course the keyboard is disabled while in this mode). The only complaint which was not reflected in my rating is the trackpad area. I believe you can adjust the sensitivity of the mousepad which is great because when I first began to play with it, it seem a little unresponsive. Other than that, the screen is also made with Gorilla glass which does ensure me that this will not scratch easily with its touch capability. This PC also has an HDMI and an SD port... great features to add to the portability. Overall, great build on the computer. I believe that is more important than judging the Chrome OS in this review which people often may see as a negative.

The Acer R-11 Chromebook is a great buy for the money. It is well made and the touch screen is a nice feature. The screen in bright, images are crisp and clear. The keyboard is comfortable to use and the notebook feature is yet another useful item. I like the white exterior shell which is textured and easy to clean. This is my second Chromebook and I will not go back to Windows. Chromebooks are easy to use and safer.

This computer was bought for my daughter. She use it every day for school. She has been successful in using it all applications Microsoft Word Excel etc. The only issue she has had so so far is video conferencing with a schoolteacher. Other than that this is a great computer a great buy . light weight ,fast start up ,and the battery lasts a long time on a full charge. My daughter loves it.

I use this chromebook more often than I use my other computers. It is perfect for reading email, surfing the web, typing basic papers and spreadsheets, and general reports. While the memory may not be enough to make it the only computer I own, everything else about it is perfect. It boots up instantly. The touchscreen makes it a breeze to operate.

This is my first Chromebook experience. I am fully into the Apple ecosystem, but I wanted to try something different. I got an outstanding Black Friday deal on this Chromebook that I had previously researched, but had been reluctant to invest the full price on an “experiment”.
Because I already used the Mac Chrome browser, getting started with the Chromebook was easy, everything synced on login. The keyboard is very Mac-like, but the ‘Alt’ and ‘Ctrl’ keys are reversed, but can be switched. I also had to switch the touchpad scrolling direction. These things are easily changed in ‘Settings’.
Some reviews are critical of the touchpad, but I quickly got used to its feel and it seems fine. The touchscreen seems fine as well. In my opinion, the build quality appears to be very good. The device is sturdy and feels solid.
You have to sometimes figure out different ways to accomplish things than you might be accustomed to, but with a bit of patience and a little cleverness, there are not a lot of limitations in using the Chrome OS. I have installed a few Android apps that seem to run smoothly enough.
In summary, I am very pleased with this Acer Chromebook and have found using it a better than expected experience.

I wasn't sure if I would like this, but I actually love it! It's very responsive, easy to tote around, and has a good battery life. I'm a huge chromebook fan and have several, but I find I use this one regularly even though my others are full size. I have purchased several of these for friends, as gifts, and they are just as happy.

I absolutely love my new laptop!! It’s small, easy to use and with having kids it’s scratch resistance. It automatically updates so I don’t have to take the time to do it myself. Just open it and sign into your gmail account and that’s it. It already has everything I need on it and if it doesn’t I’m able to Download what I need.

I'm writing this review FROM this very product!
Overall, my impressions with the device is that it's pretty decent for people who basically just need a web browser (which, most people probably do only need a web browser). It's not super fast but it gets the job done for checking emails, writing some documents (with Google Docs) or watching some YouTube or Netflix. If you aren't a fan of Google's services, this may not be the product for you as you'll be required to use one when you turn it on for the first time. If you use 1Password or another password manager, it's a little more inconvenient to log into your device as you can't give yourself a weaker password just for unlocking the laptop. I just keep mine unlocked. 1Password is also not available as an "app" so you'll have to switch to one of their web based solutions to have access to your passwords.
The hardware feels a lot nicer than I expected. It's plastic but it feels well put together and sturdy. My biggest complaint is that the screen is pretty small but it LOOKS even smaller because of the full inch plus of bezel on each side. It was the first thing I noticed when I turned the device on is how insane the amount of black space was around the screen. Keyboard actually feels really nice for such a small device! It feels like a full sized keyboard (and it very well might be). I'm having zero issues typing this review when my everyday, normal laptop is a MacBook Pro. The speakers are also pretty loud and sound decent.
Overall, I like this as a quick and easy web browser when I don't want to use my larger MacBook Pro. Simple things like browsing the web, checking Facebook/Twitter/email, watching YouTube or Netflix are quite easy but if you want to do a lot more with your laptop, you may need either another device or something different.

The keys are a perfect feel. I like the change of white since I have always had black. The light weight feel was amazing. No noisy fan! The fact that it worked almost in minutes out of the box was great!! So easy to set up and start using right away. LOVE THIS CHROMEBOOK!! It's fast, easy to use and would recommed to anyone.

I bought this for an elderly family member who is pretty much bed-ridden due to health issues. This is an easy to use Laptop that is lightweight and versatile in the fact that it can be used in the standard Laptop position or folds into a 'tent like' position.
Chromebook is simple to operate and great for emails & surfing the web. Good screen size compared to using a Tablet and has a very nice sharp/clear picture.
Much less complicated than using a regular Windows or Apple Laptop.
Got it on sale for $249 and had it up and running in 10 minutes.
A great buy....at Best Buy!

I want a budget-friendly laptop that is not as annoying as Microsoft ( I already have a cheap HP laptop and a surface pro ( both using win10 and I dislike it. ) Google review for Chromebook and found this is consider one of at least top 10 choices. Plus I enjoy using google play, so it wasn't hard to decide other than the price tag. I am glad that there were a discount on Cyber Monday. I like the size, if I need to look at from bigger screen, i'll use my Mac. It's touch screen and flip to tablet mode, what more can I ask.
Maybe 1 or 2 things I probably dislike. When I flip open the top, it turn on by itself ( just like the Nintendo Switch put into the dock it turn on, connect to charger, it turn on... annoying. Hate the idea of turning on automatically. ) And after signing in, I am automatically sign in to the net page, which I have to sign out every time. ( probably that is how google/chrome works? I am not sure cos my tablet or phone ( android ) I don't use it for net surfing, so never notice. )
Overall, no complain other than the 2 things mentioned above.

this is my 2nd acer chromebook and i love it even more than the 1st, due to the longer battery life. i don't play games or extensively watch videos. this is just a nice, lightweight adjustable unit. i have gradually been weaning myself from ms units and would never pay the premium to join the applesphere. for anyone w/ an android phone, using a chromebook will be so easy. for anyone else, it will also be super easy. this has a very crisp display and responsive keyboard. it seems pretty rugged; i don't get paid to drop-kick, but it did fall 1x from the table and was just fine. i do not suggest doing this intentionally. i don't think u can find anything of greater value for the price.

I bought this for my 17 year old daughter who is very serious about writing and art. I let her pick out what computer she wanted and she chose the Chromebook after doing her research. It's been two months now and she's in love with the features, namely the touchscreen which she says is not overly sensitive but definitely struggle free. The speed is top notch when connecting to the internet and it surfs and transfers her DOCs seamlessly. She also loves that it's very lightweight and it can also function as a tablet. She gives a two thumbs up and says she wouldn't hesitate to get it again if she could choose. Good enough for me!

Combination of touch screen and 360 hinge give this Chromebook extra functionality as a tablet (ok...a heavy tablet). It also runs some Google Play Store apps so I can run MSOffice Word, Excel, etc. on this device. Storage is limited at 16GB, but I have an SD card installed. Product gives Chromebooks a good name.
