Being able to have many ways of using the chromebook is helpful. The touchscreen and keyboard gives the option to use whichever is better for the situation. Battery lasts quite a while and charges quickly as well.

Liberating!

This was my first experience with a Chromebook. There was a bit of a frustrating learning curve, but so happy I stuck with it. I have now had this model for almost 2.5 years. I am back here to price shop for one for my son. This is the perfect size and weight to take anywhere. The battery lasts all day. Can sit by a lake or in a park and work without worry for the need to plug in. Streamed an OSU football game from our favorite lakeside picnic spot using phone hotspot and Youtube TV, perfectly. The touchscreen is nice for signing documents and using fingers to zoom in on photos and other content. The 32G has been plenty of space for my needs. Pages load quickly. Movies and sports stream perfectly. Many tabs can be open at once without issue.
Bought a cheaper Chromebook last spring that had a dual-core processor, no touch screen, and barely use it. It has problems loading Amazon's homepage! The user experience is awful compared to this one.
SO if you are new to this and want to try out the lower cost of a Chromebook, look for the buzzwords of Intel for the microprocessor(ex. Intel Celeron), Quad-core (not dual core processor), Touch screen, at least 4GB Memory, and 32GB Flash memory.
I have very few needs for my Windows PC these days.
I highly recommend spending the extra money for a touchscreen and faster/better processor (as compared to cheaper Chromebook options) so the Chromebook can meet as many of your needs as possible. "Downsizing" my online/professional computer needs to this type of Chromebook has been absolutely liberating!

Great value (if on sale)

I have and use this model often, though I also have several other computers I use regularly. It's got among the best performing Celerons available, but it's not super powerful. And that's ok for a Chromebook. I can easily browse all the websites with 20 tabs open, and conference call with screen sharing and video. My i7 MacBook air struggles to do the same some days, plus it doesn't have a touchscreen.
This is a great..
Primary computer for kids
Travel computer for plane/train/backseat
Web surfing in the living room and cast or HDMI to the tv
This is not quite...
A primary work computer
A primary highschool/college computer
It's not far off though, I often use with a USB dock/mouse/monitor and for anything in a web browser it's a champ.
Get it on sale refurbished.

I bought this laptop for college in 2017 and it is 2020 now and it still works perfectly. Battery works for a long time, touch screen is the best thing I ever got!!! And this laptop even turns into a tablet. I love the google software to write my papers and even my resumes. Never once has I lost my papers or anything because it saves everything for you. The camera isn’t the best but I never use it anyway, works really well connecting to any Bluetooth or wifi. I recommend.

I would not recommend this Chromebook I have had it for about 2 years. There are quite a few things wrong with it, first of all it loses space in about a year and it's battery dies in like3 hours. It also has a big crack on the bottom of it and I've never even dropped it. And now I have a big black thing on the bottom right left as Colour on top of it and it's so annoying that I've tried shutting it down I even wiped my Chromebook and had to redo everything and it's still there. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND it would be better if you saved your money and bought a real compter.

This worked great for my daughter, she got it for Christmas and now 8-9 months later, the screen broke. She didn’t misuse it, she opened it up and it just cracked. Not made like it should be

If you hate keeping your data get this computer

I “forgot” my password. Anyway to login as a “security” feature it erased all local data (there is no restore to a previous date like a pc). I would recommend never getting a chrome book. I half expect to hear about a password glitch with the chrome book in the near future.
To clarify if you “forget” your password it will erase all your data. Anything not saved to google drive is lost FOREVER. Don’t do it. Spend more on a real computer. And back up your hard drive regularly.
