A: No it does not have a CD/DVD drive. Not sure if you could run an external one from the USB drive. As for your programs, it runs apps and not programs. Microsoft Word has an app you would be able to use. I do not know anything about Photoshop Elements. Some programs can be run from that software's website. An example being YouTubeTV. I have YouTubeTV and it plays in an app on my phone. However on the Chromebook, the app is not supported. Instead, it refers me to YoutubeTV.com, where I sign into my account, and it plays everything full screen, with more options than the app. This is similar to many programs, that have an app, but the app has limited features compared to the main program or website. Hope this helps a bit. It takes some adjustment, but I think it is worth it. I use the white Acer R11, with touchscreen, Intel Celeron Quad-core processor, 4GB, 32GB that flips to a tablet or laptop style. Have had it over 2 years and love it. Wish you the best with your decision.
