No it does not have a CD/DVD drive. Not sure if you could run an external one from the USB drive. As for your programs, it runs apps and not programs. Microsoft Word has an app you would be able to use. I do not know anything about Photoshop Elements. Some programs can be run from that software's website. An example being YouTubeTV. I have YouTubeTV and it plays in an app on my phone. However on the Chromebook, the app is not supported. Instead, it refers me to YoutubeTV.com, where I sign into my account, and it plays everything full screen, with more options than the app. This is similar to many programs, that have an app, but the app has limited features compared to the main program or website. Hope this helps a bit. It takes some adjustment, but I think it is worth it. I use the white Acer R11, with touchscreen, Intel Celeron Quad-core processor, 4GB, 32GB that flips to a tablet or laptop style. Have had it over 2 years and love it. Wish you the best with your decision.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a Chromebook, so it can run most any Android or Linux app. That means you can use office (for Android or office online), but no Photoshop. To be fair, nothing new in this price range can do Photoshop well. Plan to spend at least as much on your laptop as your Photoshop license. It also is a convertible laptop/tablet, so no cd/DVD, but you can connect an external cd/DVD to one of its several USB ports.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it does not have a dvd port and will not be able to support that also mine (which i've had for 2 year) has a huge crack on the bottom and i havent even dropped it. it also has a weird black and blue thing on the bottom right WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CHROMEBOOK!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does not come with a CD/DVD port. I have not or tried to Photoshop Elements or Microsoft Word.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Chromebook does not have an optical drive. Chromebooks run off of apps like an Android phone or tablet. If Photo Shop Elements is available as an app, yes. Microsoft Office apps are available as an app so they will work on Chromebooks now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
