Purchased this portable speaker without doing our normal homework but we still got an "A". The staff said it was a new product and they were anxious to hear about our experience. Set up was simple and soon our family and friends were all enjoying sharing their play lists and streaming sources via blue tooth connectivity. Electricity is required - package photos and descriptions fail to make this clear. Perfect for outdoor areas with plenty of sound capacity.

I bought this for my inlaws, they find the sound quality to be pretty good. It is easily sync'd to their Android phones and seems to work at a pretty decent range. The light is a nice addition and the aesthetics of the design make it fit in well with their pool area. One drawback that would have been a nice addition would have been a battery option, but if you're okay with plugging it in, it's a really nice looking and sounding speaker.

If you're thinking of getting an outdoor speaker system, keep the following things in mind: 1) does it need to be water-proof? 2) can I sync it with my smart phone or PC? 3) does it have enough power to really crank up the volume? I found that I didn't need to have wifi, because my smartphone can already connect to Pandora. I found that the small pill-boxes (which run on battery) do not have enough volume, so the sound those boxes make is very weak when there's a party going on with tens of people running around. I am able to crank up the volume on this unit (because it is electrical powered, although running an extension cord may be viewed as a nuisance) to as loud as I want. Connection via blue-tooth to my smartphone extends to over 60 feet, so I am able to change the radio station on Pandora, raise/lower the volume, etc from far away. This unit is great!

Excellent device in terms of sound and power. Like the light a lot. Would be better if it didn't need to be plugged in; i.e., had rechargeable battery.

Really like this unit. The light is even useful n the dark although we don't use the strobe feature. The sound is very good and the volume, while not enormous is plenty adequate for most situations.

LOVE IT!!! Bought this for BBQing parties and I love it. Sound is great for the money, light is a bonus, and everyone enjoys being able to play their music off their own phone.

I used this product through multiple events and it allows playing great clear music easy via Bluetooth.

I use this speaker on my second story patio and it fills the entire backyard with music easily. The sound is rich and connecting via Bluetooth is a cinch. The light going to the beat is a bit cheesy, but I just turn that feature off and use it for ambient light. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to friends.

So far so good. It has really good sound and I love that the light can be set to blink with the beat of the music. It's super easy to set up also.

I loved this speaker so much I bought another. Plus 3 as Christmas presents for family and friends! Power is great and clarity is a plus! The light is really nice outside and weather resistant makes it easy care!

I purchased this to be used on my deck and patio. I was looking for something that doesn't require a permanent installation and that can play my music from my mobile phone. Over time I had few portable Bluetooth speakers but I was looking for something better that has enough power to be used outdoors in an open area and has good sound quality. The Acoustic Research - AR Hatteras does everything I was looking for and as a bonus it also includes LED lighting that can either pulse to the music or stay on with two light levels. I like this a lot!

Got it as a gift for my parents to use out on the patio. Sounds and looks good!

We needed a music system for our large yard. The BB technician took it out of the box so we could hear the volume, and he showed us how it worked. Great sound, great look, and a pulsating light too!

The speaker is kind of large but works and sounds great it was very easy to setup has a great light feature that you can turn off or on. The sound that comes out of this speaker is awesome.
