    Fast, Easy, and Quick internet

I bought this product today and it works very well! I have wireless internet, but in my room the wifi internet is very slow. It was easy to setup and at a good price. I had it first plugged into my wireless router and I was not getting internet in my room from the powerline. I switched it to the main modem and instantly got internet! I went from having 2.2 mbps internet speed on wifi to 51.1 mbps on the powerline! The powerline plugs do feel a bit cheap, but they do definitely work. A great buy!

    Works Great for Streaming Video

I had a Smart TV, DVD and XBox connected to wifi. When Streaming Video, the picture would freeze. The Xbox took a long time to download updates. I connected the Actiontec PWR514K01, and video's stream flawlessly and my Xbox download speed is like it is actually connected to a router. Set up was easy. I just plugged both in and it worked. I didn't even need to sync the device. I recommend this model if you have multiple devices to connect because it has 4 ports. It is great for entertainment centers where you might need more than one port as more and more devices require an internet connection. I wish I purchased this long ago!

    Fixed AirPlay issue

I gave this 4 stars, because it fixed my AirPlay issue. I have 2 airplay devices and they would constantly cut in and out on wifi, but not anymore. My smart tv had to be ran with an ethernet cable, which would lay across the hallway. Plugged smart tv into 1 of the 4 ports and no more cable down the hallway. However, my PS4 runs quicker with wifi, which is why it lost a star.

OMG - why didn't anybody tell my about this sooner? Plugged it in and it worked! No extra steps, no fuss, just plug in downstairs by the modem and plug in upstairs in my sons room. Now he is in 7th Heaven, because he can finally play his games without the lag (his words). No more cussing and yelling from his room, because he got kicked out of his game! Well worth the money - think I will go and get some more adapters for the other rooms!

I was having wireless connection issues downstairs in my room and although the connection was stable the speed was lacking. Streaming anything like Twitch or YouTube was always bumpy and full of pauses. After I installed this it was a night and day difference on my laptop and Xbox One.

    Great product with easy setup

I moved my office upstairs and my wireless signal is not the best so I bought this item so I could have a wired connection. I have been using this product for the last month and have had no problems with it. I have my personal Mac and my work laptop connected to it and it has worked flawlessly. I have not had any drops or any problems getting an internet connection. I just plugged the one box into the outlet next to my router, plugged a cable into my router and the other end into the powerline adapter. Then went upstairs to my office and plugged the 4-port adapter into the outlet. I then plugged 2 cables into it, one going to my work laptop and the other to my Mac and BAM!....I was on the internet. Speed is very good.

I bought this for a TV in a back bedroom where Wifi doesn't reach. Plug and play did not work out of the box. I had to go to the support website and filter through the FAQs until I got the two devices paired. It has been working great after that. Going to get another one for a separate bedroom!

    Product works as promised

I have a Vizio smart TV and a 15 meg download speed with my internet provider. My TV is 60' from my wireless router and the best speed I could get with my wireless connect was 3 or 4 meg. A Friend told me about these powerline adapters so I thought I would try one. I bought the Actiontec pwr514ko1 adapter and it took less then 5 mins to install and set up. I am now getting 15.5 meg download to my Vizio smartTV and could not be happier. I can now stream videos to my TV with any buffering going on. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a better connect at the other end of their home or business.

    Works, but cuts throughput

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The unit worked ok, but the throughput was too low. I have an 80 Mbps Internet connection, but speed tests performed on a PC through the adapter were never faster than 10-12Mbps. When I ran the same test with a LAN cable, I would get the full speed of my Internet connection. While the unit did work, I would only recommend it if your service does not exceed 10Mbps. And my residence was constructed in 2000, so the electrical wiring is relatively up to date.

    Great product / poor documentation

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The product is excellent but the documentation is poor. Setting it up out the box was extremely simple, that is until I tried to change the encryption key. There is no supplied documentation for this and the web site documentation is confusing and misleading. Fortunately their tech support is pretty good. They answer the phone within a few minutes and are generally very helpful. I say generally because a few times the service was poor. At one time I got an Indian/Pakistani help desk person who was difficult to understand and, even worse, was not familiar with the product. She seemed to be reading from a canned script. Fortunately, after hanging up in disgust and calling back a few times, I got someone who knew the product and was able to resolve my problem. Of course, I wouldn't have had to resort to the help desk in the first place if the documentation was better. It is shame that an excellent product like this has such poor instructions.

I am currently living in a 5 unit apartment and don't have the ability to run Ethernet cables under the floors or in the walls. the wifi is strong but not as good as a hard line. I went to best buy and told the employee my situation and he recommended this product. at first I said theres no way this will work but it did just as he said. just follow the easy setup instructions-plug and play. and you are ready to go. I have xbox one, my computer, and a laptop all plugged in at once with no latency. here is a screenshot I took of my speed test I just did now with 50/50 on Verizon fios using this power line adapter

    Great Solution

We don't have our house wired. I was having issues streaming video and gaming in our basement because our router was upstairs. This was the solution! Easy setup. It took less than 1 minute to have this up and running. It doesn't get any simpler. You literally plug and play. It works great! No lag or buffering:) I get the same speed out of this powerline adapters as I do hardwired direct from my router. Very good product. Don't waste your money and time running network cable, just get one these powerline adapters. You won't be disappointed.

Did all of this on my lunch break!! 12:20PM - Walked into Best Buy 12:28PM - Walked out of Best Buy 12:38PM - Got home and opened package 12:40PM - Plugged adapter into wall and cabled it to my TW Surfboard Cable modem located upstairs in the master (most central connection in the house) 12:50PM - Plugged the 4-port adapter into the wall and cabled the XBOX, Smart Blur-Ray Player, and laptop downstairs. 12:55PM - Ate a grilled cheese sandwhich that the wife started making when I got home. 1:05PM - Started the same episode (staggered the start times) of Dexter on all three devices with Netflix and once it got start (probably 10 seconds for buffering), all three played well with no skipping. 1:25PM - Headed back to the office. Needless to say I took a long lunch. We'll see how it goes over the long run.

    Better than I thought!

I bought this to replace two Netgear WNA3100-100ENS wireless wifi adapters that were being used in both my wifes and my computers. With the adapters, the signal would drop on a frequent basis, cause Java to crash once in a while, and I was constantly restarting my computer. Our computers are in our office, which is located all of 25 feet away from the router, with no electronic or metal interference in between point A and point B. After a night of losing the signal 10 times in 15 minutes, I decided to research what was out there that would help alleviate this problem. After a mind numbing amount a reading, debating, and doubting. I bought this ActionTec powerline adapter. Stunned. I was totally stunned. I've had these approximately a week now, and I've yet to have signal drop, slow downs, or crashes. You simply plug in the base module into a wall socket, connect your modem/router via ethernet cable, and plug the receiving module into any wall socket (except a GFI), and connect your device via ethernet cable. The receiving module also has four (4) ports on it and delivers equal speed to all items on the circuit. The speed you'll receive with this depends on the age and wiring structure of your house. My house was finished in June, so I'm achieving maximum speeds. I have no regrets with this purchase, and would recommend these to anyone who would like a consistent and stable speed.
