    Great SSD, Greater Price

I am going to try to leave somewhat of a detailed review and my research and why I chose this particular SSD. to start this drive is an SLC SSD which is a single cell drive. Most of the SSD's that are mainstream like WD sn750 or the Samsung evo are TLC drives which are triple cells SSD drives. I went with the SLC because the write and erase cycles are far better than TLC drives and the longevity and durability of this drive if far great that that of tlc. Its not very common to find SLC drives at this price point so that was a huge positive. Normally TLC drives are less expensive, the more cells tend to have a cheaper price so to have all the great features with this adata ssd is a no brainer why I bought it. This drive has R&W speeds similar to the Samsung evo but with a far more attractive price point. One thing to note is the SLC drives are less likely to have corrupted data than that of the tlc drives. I was able to purchase two 1tb drives for $100 each which is a fantastic deal. I wanted 2tb but seperate drives just in case 1 fails for some fluke reason. after install I did some speed tests, application tests, gaming, and content creation just to test all the speeds and R&W capabilities and this drive is as advertised. I'm extremely happy with this purpose. as with all products you should look into all aspects and do your research but this is a great ssd with an even better price.

    Slower, Newer Controller

As others have mentioned, these are not shipping with the older controllers now. If you have an SX8200 Pro already and want to RAID these up, then be aware that AData has changed the controller to a slower variant. I ordered three of these when they went on sale and they all have the newer, slower controller. Would you notice the speed difference in real world usage? Probably not, but I am not paying for a slower device that AData themselves didn't disclose the change. With all that being said, they are still very fast drives. For my use case, however, I needed the older controller to get the fastest RAID speeds possible.

I purchased this a little over a year and a half ago and it has been working alright, but earlier today I tried to watch a video clip that was saved on it, and the video clip would not play all the way through. Then it got worse and none of the videos would play at all. I checked on a different drive I backed up the videos to and they played fine there, so I know it's not an issue with the video files. I even tried taking the drive out of my computer and putting it into an external enclosure I know works with another drive, and it did the same thing there so I know it's not the port in my computer. Luckily I had a new SK Hynix M.2 sitting around that I bought even though I didn't know I needed it then since it was on such a good sale I couldn't resist, so had a replacement to put into my PC, but all of the data on this drive is basically lost. Nothing really vital fortunately, and most of it was backed up earlier, so no biggie, but yah, definitely not a reliable drive. Lasted longer than the Western Digital one I had before that lasted a month before it died though... And their customer service is a joke, their emails don't work, I get an error saying no recipient found when I try to email them. They don't even look at their social media messages. And their RMA service requires that you pay for the shipping out of your own pocket, which I did, but then heard nothing back about it despite confirmation from tracking that it was delivered. It's been months and nothing, and trying to search for the RMA status on their support page returns and error saying "No Data Found." So basically you have no support once this drive fails on you.

Price to performance ratio, here we come! Cheaper than 970 EVO or WD Black SN750 but gets similar performance. The 1TB version seems to be faster than my 500 GB though.

Its a a good M2 SSD but lost one star due to the lack of instructions on how to install and migrate from the current HDD. I did migration previously but this one was tricky. Website gives Acronis True reflect for free but it didnt work or there were no clear instructions. Read and write speeds were 500Mibs (Read 2900, Write 3400 Mibs) less than advertised on a Dell Xpg 8930.

My former drive was an Adata 2.5 ssd that i had no problems with. I found this Adata NVMe on sale here ( and no where else ) and at a performance mark per dollar that no other drive could match. The 5 year warranty is nice too. The Adata toolbox is easy to use, good deal.

I like these SSD's. I've used them in a couple different gaming PC's, and they perform beautifully. The grand kids are the gamers, and they work them hard. No failures in a couple of years of gaming use.
