This is my 3rd Photoshop with Photoshop 6 being my workhorse until 13. Many of the devices one uses for 6 are available in 13. I also upgraded my computer so 13 flies through work leaving me with a flawless photo. This is not a basic software and it requires a little knowledge of photo enhancements and there are places on the internet with how to lessons and videos. The colors available in 13 seem more vibrant.

I purchased us to replace an outdated version of Photoshop and for the panorama feature. But I have to admit if you are not familiar with photoshop software it is a tad hard to navigate. I love the features such as
out of bounds, jig-saw puzzle and the panorama feature is spot on!!!

I had trouble getting this product installed. Called Adobe and it took them 2 hours to install. The next day is crashed and and adobe spent 3 hours fixing the problem. It is installed on 2 computers one computer no problem the other I had the problems and not works. Do not let this discourage you from buying the product. It is great and probably should not have any problems. It is worth the price and time to get installed.

Good Features for All Levels of Expertise

I have not upgraded my version of PSE since version 10. Version 13 is a full 64-bit program. While the interface has changed some, all of the features are still in the program. You can set the mode of your expertise with the various options from Novice to Expert. One thing missing is the ability to directly import Camera Raw images from my new Sony RX100M4. Hopefully this can be updated soon as Lightroom and Photoshop have the ability to import these files. In all an excellent program.

A good software. Problem with CD

It is a good software that allows you to work at three levels of expertise. The mode for relatively new users is also very good and useful when you want somethings done quickly. I have used an old version of Photoshop for a while. Sometimes I still prefer that over this.
I had an issue with the installation CD. After going through several steps I kept getting a message that the CD did not pass Adobe's test for piracy.
I contacted Adobe customer support through online chat. That seemed to be the only mode of support available for this software. After a lengthy process they sent me a link to download the software. Something that should have taken a few minutes ended up taking a few hours.

Photoshop Elements is the perfect tool for your basic photo processing. Does all that I need to clean up my scanned negatives as well as process images from my DSLR. Price is right when its on sale.

I made the jump up a few versions to this one and am using it on a Mac to tweek rather than restore pix and graphics. It is clean and does what I want easily and quickly. I am getting used to the updated format/feel. I find I miss the hard crispness of the older versions. To me the new look is distracting, I want the project to be the most predominate thing on the screen. All in all its still Adobe, and that is good.

Program has all the basic functions for most photo editing applications, including some nice bells and whistles, with a simple interface for most users. Easy learning curve, with a few on-line tutorials. Useful when I don't require the functionality of the full-blown Photoshop CC. Reasonable value for the price. Watch for sales.

Photoshop is an icon in our language as people describe any sort of photo manipulation as being 'photoshopped'. Now in its 13th iteration Elements just keeps getting better. It has a tabbed interface for different levels of skill and patience from quick and dirty to expert. It is all that a photographer needs for routine image work from simple cropping and levels adjustment to sharpening and layers. But if you have little patience the quick fix tool will do a pretty good job of optimizing photos.

Learning curve much steeper than ACDSee and other similar programs, but much more powerful. If all you want to do is crop an image or change the exposure a bit then Elements is overkill. However, if you want to remove Uncle Fred from you family photo or tweak the photo of your favorite burger Elements is the way to go.

Wasn't really sure what I was getting myself into. Bought this for my wife and was amazed at what it could do when I installed the program. Each time I open it I learn something new. Between the general touching up of pictures and the full out special affects like clicking on an area it only removing just that color, I have been blown away.

Works Well, Problems Installing

I started using Adobe Photoshop Elements when it was in its 7th edition. It worked extremely well and my only quibble was that it didn't clean up "pet eye". Since the program was old and a bit clunky, I felt it was finally time for an upgrade. When I tried to install it, though, it froze up my computer and I had to uninstall and reinstall it -- twice. The installation was so frustrating that I eventually went for help on adobe.com, who were very helpful and patient with me. Warning for people who have Norton Security: You need to temporarily shut off Norton before installing PSE13 for it to successfully install.
After installing it, I was quite pleased with its functionality. Cropping, color correction and straightening are easier than before and truly do make the photos look like works of art. I have not had the time to explore all the options yet, but given what I've seen so far, I'm sure it will be terrific.

Quality software, but missing some useful features

I upgraded to Elements 13 from CS2, which is pretty old now. However, several features that I used all the time in CS2 are missing from Elements. Specifically the layer blending options like drop shadow, inner shadow, bevel, stroke, etc. Elements is just that, the basic elements of photo-editting. But when the full version of Photoshop costs hundreds of dollars and requires a monthly subscription, sometimes you have to settle.

Software has incremental levels...so you can get automatic prompts to help you along....then once you are cruising, you can operate at the expert level. If new to working with layers, you might want to take a class to really grasp the concepts....although many I know are self-taught, using the software and available books. Very happy I bought this software and looking forward to creating better images than I've been able to using only the free downloadable software out there that doesn't involve layers.

My daughter used Photoshop at one of her camps this summer, and we were looking for something comparable, but not quite so expensive to use at home. I found Elements on sale at Best Buy and jumped on it!
We've been using it the past few weeks and she's found it easy to use. We loaded it on our mac mini, no problem, as there were two discs inside - one for Windows and one for Mac OS.
Looking forward to using it for some creative projects over the next several years!
