It works
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not sure way some reviewers said that it was hard to assemble? The install process was last then 30 minutes and the light feature on this mode is amazing. Currently I am going salad along with the mighty tomatoes pod with a few herbs. The only thing I have issue with is that this model needs replacement filters which the product description does not state.

Love Aerogarden XL24
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent product. While it was helpful to have a second person assemble this large, 58 pound unit, and get it upstairs (unbox where you will use it), the instructions were easy to follow. Set up on Saturday, seedlings popping up in four days! App working well. But I lost out on Black Friday sale price.

Indoor Gardening Made Easy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve kept a small vegetable garden in our backyard for the past couple years with varying results. My wife really likes gardening, though the space and amount of light we have for it is not ideal. The AeroGarden could not be a simpler way to get going with indoor gardening and we were seeing results within days of planting. It’s a great all-in-one solution that takes most of the guesswork out of gardening and I’m really excited to see how the plants continue to progress over the next few weeks and months. For me, with some help, the total unboxing, assembly and setup experience took about 2-3 hours in total. Assembly was simple, but not completely effortless. Even with the holes completely lined up I ended up needing to use a ratcheting screwdriver to get a few of the screws to take hold, so I’d recommend something a little more robust than the included hex key. Thankfully though all the screws at all points of assembly are the same, so you only need the one toot to complete the entire assembly. I would recommend assembling this with another person’s help; attaching the LED lights to the hanging points would have been particularly challenging for me to do on my own. Besides a couple minor hiccups though the whole thing was very easy to assemble and the instructions were clear. Once everything was assembled we set off on planting the included seed pods. Each of the 2 water bowls needs to be filled with 2 gallons of water, so having a large watering can to cut down on trips to the sink is handy. The touchscreen interface will take you through a step-by-step for each side of the garden to set up the type of vegetables or herbs you are growing. For the herbs and tomatoes that were included it appeared that both of these worked out to the same 15 hour light cycle, but there may be some additional nuance with the watering there that I’m not seeing. The small touchscreen at the top does a good job of giving you an at a glance status of how everything is doing and lets you adjust a lot of different settings so you can dial it in exactly how you want it. The LED lights are motorized and can be individually raised and lowered as needed. The included magnetic trellis is nice and gives you quite a bit of flexibility with how you want to position it, but if things get too out of sync one side does have a habit of pulling the other side down; not a huge criticism, but something to be aware of when you’re working with it. After getting everything planted it was mostly just a matter of watching it work. It’s been about a week and every seed pod that we planted has sprouted and most of them to the point where we could remove the plastic covers. It’s at a point that would normally take 2-3 weeks outside and I’m blown away by how quickly everything's coming in. The AeroGarden does connect to WiFi so you can use the app, which is mostly just the touchscreen that’s on the device itself, but it will notify you when it’s time to add water/food, etc. It looks really nice just about anywhere, but at full brightness the LEDs can be a bit distracting in some environments. We ended up putting it in a spare bedroom closet and set the light cycle to sync up with our sleep schedules, but you can temporarily turn the system off when needed and it will automatically go back to its programmed schedule later on. I was a little concerned that this might uncomfortably warm up the small room that it’s in, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. Overall I’d say you should have more than a passing interest before jumping into this, but if you have a passion for gardening I don’t think you’ll be let down.

Favorite new toy.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up. Sprouts in a matter of days. I’ve had this set up for less than three weeks and I’m harvesting my first batch of lettuce today. The ease of programming, timers for lights, adjusting the height of lights, and audio reminders for food and water are out of this world. I’ve never had an easier garden. I plan on buying another in the near future.

Missing parts
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately, I just had time to open the packaging and put it together. I’m seeing now why this was probably so cheap. It is missing parts and the seed pack is damaged. The nutrients have leaked everywhere. It’s missing the cord for the light, it’s missing the trellis, instructions and the circles that go over the pods you aren’t using. Kind of looks like it was a return that was resent without making sure all the parts were there.

Super Glad I Bought This
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so in love with this machine. It does everything that it says it will. The digital interface superceeds my expectations. It allows me to see how full each water tank is and exactly when I am supposed to put more nutrients in it. The whole process with AeroGarden is fool proof and I'm so glad I bought this. I planted Peppers, Poblanos, Cucumber, Tomatoes and Eggplant seed 5-6 days ago and I am already seeing the sprouts through the top of the cup. Can't wait until they blossom and fruit!

So fun and fresh!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an employee of Best Buy and have been so lucky to test out the AeroGarden - Farm 12 XL. Starting with set up this item is breeze to unpack and put together. Just as easy as this is to set up out of the box, starting your first growing sessions are also very easy to start. All you have to is follow the simple instructions and you are off and running. Once you have began your growing cycle using the app or screen on the device make it so easy to make sure you are providing your plans with enough water and plant food. The system also will ask you what you are growing and then set your LED lights timing for you. This is very nice for people new to growing and are unsure how often to run the LED lights. But for those who are experienced you can manually set your light timing to what you want. Space is also a pleasant surprise; we have a small kitchen and as you can see in the pictures it does not take up as much space as I thought it would. Once the growing has started everyone in our family loves checking the plants each day to see how they are coming along. And the best part is the harvest! The fresh taste you get from lettuce, basil, tomatoes or whatever you decide to grow is unmatched from any local grocery store or farmer’s market. Nothing beats clipping your vegetables and putting them directly onto your plate for a meal.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its heavy and expensive. Could have more substantial threads to accept bolts for assembly. Threads are short and don’t align well. Hopefully this will supply high quality lettuce and tomatoes but time will tell as this is day 0.

The Indoor Garden Made Easy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****Review***** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really like that the AeroGarden Farm makes gardening so easy; to be able to grow 12 different types of herbs and vegetables without the worry of pesticides, overwatering, underwatering and sufficient sunlight. Now to get into the nitty-gritty, the set up took about 30 minutes. The guide/instructions are pretty standard; it shows what parts you have in the box and step-by-step instruction with pictures and direction. Once built, I placed it where I knew it would be its permanent station. Side note here, I would highly recommend this because once you fill the water bowl, it's extremely heavy. After powering it on, I was given the option to "Start Planting" or customize on the touch screen. "Start Planting" sets a default setting for the lights, watering schedule, reminders, etc. so it really makes it hard for someone to fail. You just follow the instructions; add water (filtered or distilled water), add seed pod and voila, let the default settings take care of your garden. I like that I can customize thereafter as well to fit the need. You can connect via WiFi to sync with their app so you have that option. There’s a vacation mode where it’ll “reserve” but still effectively care for your garden. If you experience a power outage, the settings are still saved; you’ll just be asked to re-enter the time. I have to say though, I was a little sad that Google home is not compatible but not a deal breaker. The feature I was most impressed with is the LED lights; adjusting dimness and more so the ability to imitate Sunrise and Sunset. There is a bit of a heat output from the lights, it isn't terribly hot but you can definitely feel the vicinity being warmer than any other parts of the house so being able to have control of the strength of the light is really neat. You can also adjust the "height" of the light. In its sprouting stage, I lowered the light to about 12" from the water bowl. The unit runs super quiet, it's even hard to tell when it's being watered. It is VERY bright and does radiate a bit of heat. Given how it’s currently operating though, I'm not expecting a big difference in electric bill; maybe a few extra dollars a month. I have yet to utilize the magnetic trellis that's included but I can see it will definitely come in handy with the lettuces and when growing "tall" plants like tomatoes and peppers. As for growing, I opted to try out the lettuce and herb seed pods that were included in the box. By day 3, I saw sprouting from the lettuce pods; 7 days for one of the herbs, 10 days for the other 2 herbs. It’s hard to say it’s growing faster than traditional gardening just yet but I truly do appreciate the ease; not having to constantly check on each leaf, water it, drain it, move my pots in and out of the sun, etc. I suspect I’ll have some insect issues; seen a few but I’d imagine it’ll be far less than if they were planted outside. I can also foresee some algae or mildew growth so I'd imagine a "flush" would be necessary from time to time to prevent this. There is an option to "Drain" and a hose included but I have yet to figure out how that works. That is a bridge I will cross when I get there. Overall, I’d recommend it to those who like gardening and harvesting but hate the leg work and/or maybe just don’t have a whole lot of space. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****Quick Features & Specs***** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Multi-Plant Growing: Grow up to 12 plants indoors all year long Capacity: Up to three feet of grow height to support full size vegetable varieties like tomatoes, peppers and more Bigger Yields: Powerful, energy-efficient 60W LED grow light panel for improved production and bigger yields Ultimate Control: Hi-res color touchscreen control panel with care reminders, garden status and grow tips Compatibility: WiFi enabled and Alexa device compatible --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****What's in the box***** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AeroGarden Farm 12XL 12 Seed Pods Various Manuals Including Assembly Instructions

Good option for growing Vegetables indoors
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a little over 2 weeks since we received our Aerogarden Farm 24 XL. We were able to start reaping some of the fresh vegetables this week. It's nice to not have to run to store to get a package of spring mix when I can just reach over to make our own. I do wish we would have had a choice of pod kits. 12 pods of tomatoes was a bit too much for 2 adults. The pods of herbs would have worked better for us. We did have some heirloom tomato pods that didn't grow though, I'd say there were 2 of them. We didn't expect it to be as big as it is, so some adjusting had to be made to make available space, but we did it. Anxious to see the tomatoes form and grow. The packaging was good. The setup however, that took a lot of time. There’s a lot of fit and finish issue’s so it feels cheap. I do question the quality and longevity of the unit and its electronics. When assembling the unit, a lot of the threaded holes in the frame simply do not line up perfectly which means you have to force a lot screws/bolts in. It’s incredibly frustrating and what I assume is likely a 15-25 minute setup turned in to an hour or so where I had to use multiple tools just to get the frame to a point where I could drive the screw/bolt in straight. One of the storage bins on the top of the unit, the cover will pop off when it’s closed fully or if you open it because the frame itself is not properly shaped, therefore the cover flexes outwards because the frame there is too narrow. The opposite side didn’t have this issue though. In the pictures you can see how there’s a gap between the left frame and the top. I think if there was some closer QA during the manufacturing process, especially with the cost of the unit, the quality would be significantly higher. We will certainly see how the unit holds up over time though. So far already having something harvestable after right about 3 weeks’ time without having to deal with a having a dedicated garden outside and being subject to the elements, it’s quite a nice alternative. Aside from the troublesome assembly, the only thing I could see improving on is the LED lights themselves. They’re incredibly bright and you cannot adjust said brightness. I’d happily be fine with lower brightness lights and more on time. When I did first setup the unit I legitimately thought something wrong with it as the LED’s were all flashing rapidly. After about 30 minutes they eventually went to a steady state, so if you experience this, it appears that it’s normal. I would say that if you have a light sensitivity or suffer from photosensitivity/epilepsy, you might want to steer clear here cause the lights will rapidly flash in varying patterns that can lead to disorientation. The app is easy to use and pretty much mimic’s what you see on the screen on the unit itself. That’s nice as you can monitor everything exactly as it appears and it keeps the intuitiveness in check. If you’re looking for something where you can grow pretty much anything indoors with minimal maintenance, this may very well be for you, though you may want to research others to see what best fits for you.

Grow Just About Anything In Your Home
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: * Grow 12 things at a time in only 2 square feet of floor space. * Plants can be up to 34“ tall before hitting the lights. * Useful color touchscreen for control and status. * WiFi control from anywhere with the useful app. * Motorized light height. * Magnetic trellis provided. Cons: * Bundled seed kit doesn’t take advantage of expanded grow height. * Automated light height would be nice. Review: I’ve been a satisfied owner of AeroGardens for years. I’ve always loved the ability to grow herbs and vegetables inside, wherever I had counter-top space. My last garden was the Harvest Touch which supported 6 plants at a time and had a convenient color touchscreen. It wasn’t connected at all (no WiFi or Bluetooth) but worked well anyway. Given its size, though, it really couldn’t grow anything too large. The lights ranged from 4.5” above the pods to as high at 11”. That means that once your garden really gets going, it usually hits the lights and the tips get burnt, or you have to trim them to keep the growth below the lights. Regardless, it was fun growing lettuce and herbs year-round, but given the height restriction, you really couldn’t grow things like tomatoes or peppers that grow taller. This AeroGarden Farm 12XL takes everything great about my older Harvest Touch model, adds WiFi for remote monitoring, and vastly expands the grow space. This model can fit 12 pods at a time and the motorized lights now vary from 7.5” above the bed to a whopping 34” up! That’s more than enough headspace for the tall guys like tomatoes, peppers or just about anything else you want to grow. Let’s start with the color, WiFi-enabled touchscreen. It shows the basics at-a-glance; like when the lights are due to turn on and off by their set schedule, how the water tank level is doing, when the plants need more fertilizer, and how long since the garden was first started. You can easily set up notifications to the phone app for when the water is low, the plants need some food, or other issues arise. The iOS app that I used was essentially a mirror image of the screen that’s on the unit itself and both worked well and stayed in sync. I had no trouble getting the Farm connected to my WiFi or having the app connect to it. The water tank in my old Harvest Touch didn’t hold much, so it needed frequent refills; especially after the pods got going. This unit holds twice the plants but also seems to hold more than double the water. Plus, AeroGarden added some nice touches. For example, the tank is not easy to pick up and move to a sink to empty if you ever need to, but they provided a convenient hose and a way to drain the tank by running the pump. As I mentioned above, the light height is controlled by the touch screen and is motorized. Touch the “up” or “down” buttons to raise or lower the lights from either the touch screen or the app. It would have been nice if there were a sensor to detect overall plant height and adjust the lights automatically, but it’s still a lot more convenient and nicer than pulling up on the lights manually like with the smaller units. There are convenient storage spots on either side of the top of the unit for keeping the drain tubing, tools, or anything else you’d like to store. The build quality is really nice and it feels sturdy and stable. Assembly took about 30 minutes but nothing was terribly difficult; just a bunch of bolts to install with a provided Allen wrench. I can’t really find anything that I don’t like about the Farm 12XL. One puzzling thing, though, was that the bundled seed kit was salad greens and herbs. Sure, they probably grow well and most people like them, but they really don’t take full advantage of this unit’s expanded capability to grow tall things with ease. It would have been nice to throw in some tomatoes or peppers, but you can always get those as your first kit purchase after you’re done with the bundled stuff. My kit has been set up for about a week and all of the lettuce has sprouted and a bunch of the herbs are just starting. By the way, you can also stack these gardens. Imagine two of the Farm 12 units stacked on top of each other and those next to this 12 XL. You could be growing up to 36 plants in only 4 square feet of indoor floor space! If you live in an area where it’s not easy to garden outdoors, or you just want to grow some healthy and fresh veggies in the comfort of your own home, you can’t go wrong with the AeroGarden Farm series. It really does allow you to grow just about anything wherever you have a bit of free floor space.

Herbs and Veggies To Call Your Own!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife was very excited to see this under the tree this year! Assembly and set-up were quick and easy, and the frame is solidly built. We are just starting to grow our first crop, but we're hoping for nice, tall plants with all the space! Only downside is the wifi is a bit spotty, but Areogarden says they are working on the server side to fix that.

Far more exciting than I thought it would be
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't exactly have a green thumb and I love fresh produce. The current health scare is also weighing heavily on me. I've enjoyed the design of AeroGarden's products since the very beginning, but never bought one because the price. I'm glad I got over that. My AeroGarden is lovely, educational, and so fast! The box it came in is pretty large, but manageable (I can lift 50 pounds well enough, 75 if I need to, 100 if I'm feeling it). The shipping company did their level best to damage things, but the packing held and only the outer box and the interior packaging were torn and bent. The packaging is almost all recyclable, which is important to me. Putting it together took about an hour, but it's well engineered and the directions made sense (except for one step, but that might just have been me and was easily figureoutable). The computer controls were very simple and in nearly no time at all, I had my 12 seed pods placed and basking happily in the the grow lights. We have a salad collection, which included 9 varieties of leafy greens and 3 different herbs. It took only TWO days to see our first sprouts appear. We've had it now for a week and the original sprouts have grown so much that we've had to remove the protective grow-domes on 5 of our pods and all of the pods have sprouts. So far, this has been a ridiculous success. We're excited about growing food year round and looking forward to trying other vegetables. We're also considering getting another AeroGarden since they seem able to stack and having more variety is always good. If I have one complaint about the AeroGarden, it's that the AeroGarden website is poorly designed, hard to navigate, and clearly just an advertisement for the product. I would much prefer it to be an easily searchable clearinghouse for growing tips, exciting innovations, and, sure, recipes. TL/DR: The good: Easily set up Stylish Producing very quickly The bad: Poorly thought out website (that you don't really need to visit, but should want to visit) I would enthusiastically recommend this to friends and do.
