Comfortable and blocks out background noise.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is very comfortable to wear. People can hear me clearly. It also blocks out background noise. In a meeting my cat was crying and the audience could not hear anything but my voice. :)

I Can Wear This Headset All Day
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a wireless Bluetooth headset for work (for all the remote meetings/video conferences) and I already own the AfterShokz Air Open Ear Wireless Bone Conduction headphones, which I absolutely love, for exercising. Two things that I really like about the OpenComm: 1) I can wear it for long periods of time without it hurting my ears since the headphones rest on the cheeks and 2) I can hear ambient sounds (like if somebody is at the front door) while wearing the headphones. Only minor issue I have is I sometimes get disconnected on calls on my laptop but I think it's my laptop since I don't get disconnected with any other devices that I use the headset with.

Great design
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great audio quality and comfort. Takes a little while to get used to as it doesn't produce sound like other headsets, but it's an amazing product. Has made working from home so much easier.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a teacher that will be switching from virtual teaching to hybrid teaching. Bone Bluetooth Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ability to listen to an audiobook or music without appearing unavailable to the people around you or disconnecting from other people in the room, is absolutely priceless. The music quality is excellence, even if not as rich or as immersive as with traditional headphones/earbuds. The ability to have a phone conversation in a normal voice and be aware of your surroundings, but have a reasonable noise cancelling mic is priceless. The ability to not have the earbuds fall out of your ear or sweat under the earphone muffs is priceless. Like your own little boom box, without being a selfish jerk and disturbing the people around you.

Hands down The best for their functionality.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The discreet look and comfortable feel make this item a must have for bluetooth handsfree communication. I find myself rarely taking them off unless it is to recharge them. The music quality is on par - in my field I tend to need to have an ear open for safety purposes and these allow for ease of use and are fantastic. I was impressed with AfterShokz line and will definitely recommend these to anyone that needs a headset and the pairing from one device to the next is fantastic....I use them with my phone, my computer for zoom meetings, and all it takes is disconnecting from either to pair right back up with the other device...I LOVE these headphones

Very good if you don't want something in your ears
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have issues with only one working ear, but I'm very used to using bone conduction devices. I found that this one is excellent for what I wanted to use it for, which is 90% of making phone calls and 10% music. I do find that the music quality is not the greatest, but that is not a big issue for me. Don't turn these headphones all the way up or you will get a lot of buzzing against your head from the conduction speakers. The boom microphone seems to work very well and I've not had any complaints.

Great For Specific Use Cases
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As I started working from home I needed a good wireless headset that would allow me to interact with other things going on in my home while still being available to take calls. This headset is unique in that you can still interact with your surroundings while monitoring for phone calls. My only gripe is that instead of just coming up as a stereo headset, it appears as two different devices in windows, one device for communication, and one for stereo music. Because of this my work software doesn't always play nice with it, but I've made it work.

Just WOW
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this headset. Normal ones give me headaches and squish my head but these are great. They’re a little big in the back but it’s better than it being too small

A Fairly Decent Cell Phone Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A bit about my intended use case for this - back when the pandemic started, my company went 100% remote with a heavy reliance on virtual meeting technologies. The result is that now I easily spend half my day on conference calls. Since then, I’ve gone through a number of my Bluetooth headsets trying to find the one that works “just right” - as of late it has been a fitness headset by LG that has earbuds. It can get uncomfortable after a few hours and completely block out what is going on around me, so I’ve resorted to using one earbud at a time and alternating ears throughout the day. The premise of not having anything of that all day was something I wanted to get behind. I had some knowledge of AfterShokz from review videos online, thought that having a headset with an actual mic would be better than my current headset, and decided to give it a go. After using it for a few days, I feel like I can provide some of the hits and misses for the headset. True to form, I can wear this for a large portion of the day and am not in pain from it. It’s not lightweight enough that I can say I forget I’m wearing it, but it is comfortable nonetheless. The headset is also tight enough that you can do normal day-to-day activities and not have to worry about it falling out of position. The headset can connect to my computer and my phone with relative ease and seems to have no problem bouncing between the two as needed. For reasons I’ll get into soon however, I generally prefer it being connected to my phone. Battery life is great; I’ve been on (what feels like) over 12 hours of calls and it’s just reporting that the battery is at “medium.” I’m not a huge fan of the proprietary charging cable - it looks to be a result of the headset being water-resistant, but I’d rather have either a micro-USB or a USB C port over water resistance. Audio quality is okay, if a bit hollow and lacking bass - this headset is best suited for voice, not music. The sound quality is expected from what I can understand; the way it works is by vibrating your cheekbones thus causing your eardrums to interpret sound. It is not as high fidelity, but it works. With that said, the vibration is not really noticeable unless you have the volume set to a higher level. The microphone is loud and clear and my team has certainly said I sound better than normal on calls. Some issues I’ve found thus far: Related to the design, there are several issues with the mechanism of operation. When you are wearing the headset, facial expressions suddenly matter far more - smiling and other facial expressions can alter the sound you hear, even to the point of you not being able to hear it at all. This happens due to it changing its contact with your cheekbone - the only way to avoid it would be making the headset tighter and thus making it more difficult to wear all day. No changes to my overall rating for the device being what it is. The one thing that causes my taste to sour on this headset is how well it functions with computers as a video chat headset. For the large majority of cases, a call run via a computer will have a much higher audio fidelity than a standard phone call; meaning if at all possible, I prefer to have my audio run through a computer. The problem here is that the current firmware of the device doesn’t seem to recognize the headset is being used within the context of a video conference. This recognition is critical as the volume buttons only function when the headset thinks it is in a call. For all other conditions, they are recognized as a button to determine the battery status. When in a video conference, if I want to quickly turn down the volume, I now need to do it on my computer, instead of just quickly reaching up to my neck to change the volume. Overall, as a voice-only headset, I think this is a pretty compelling offer. I enjoy the ability to hear my environment and the lack of pain caused by having things in my ear all day. It is superior in comfort to a large number of similar headsets in the market, with good enough audio for the purpose. That said, I do wish it functioned better with computer-based audio calls.

Worth the purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good product if you make a lot of calls throughout the day. Never a complaint using the noise cancelling mic, and the sound is perfect for phone conversations. Only losing 1 star because you can notice a difference in lack of bass response if you listen to music, but that's not why you purchase this. Controls are easy to learn and pairing either via BT or NFC is seamless. Unfortunately, you can only pair and use it with 1 device at a time. The other drawback is the price since its at the higher end of their product line.
