Maybe okay with phones... didn't work so well with my PC. Was hard to adjust for volume and not really active noise canceling. Hubby likes them though - he also has the regular headset for running. Must be personal choice.

I'm new to bone conduction sets, so this is a fresh perspective. With the work from home switch, I've tried to find a decent headset to take calls and conference for the day. Right now, I'm literally looking at 4 headsets all piled on my workdesk. The reason is, I've exclusively been using the AfterShokz set ever since I got it.
Because there doesn't need to be big magnets to push sound, the overall form is really really small and light. The mic arm flips up and down to adjust, and the sound quality is great.
If you're trying to get audiophile quality sound from music, this isn't the right set. But for me, it's tangle free being wireless, and the way it sits around your head, as opposed to a conventional headset on top means no sweaty scalp and no imprint in my hair after I'm done with long Zoom calls.
If you too are working from home and need a nice comfortable communications-oriented headset, this is the one for you.

AfterShokz - OpenComm Bone Conduction Stereo Bluetooth Headset - Slate Gray
The AfterShokz OpenComm Bone Conduction Stereo Bluetooth Headset is a very unique headset in many different ways. I had heard about bone conduction headphones and was very interested in getting to try them. I have reviewed many different types of headset over the years and this one will stand out as very different then those others. My first question was since this headset does not use eartips would the sound be good enough. Well the answer is both yes and no. If you are looking for a true audio experience then no these will not be equal to in-ear headphones in this price range. However when matched to almost any other stereo headphone/headset that you might wear all day I do not know of another headset that matches up to them. The sound is good but not great. At a normal volume they do ok and making them louder does not make them sound better. But I think as their primary role of being a stereo headset you would wear all day they are just fine. At a normal listening volume they are clear and because they are a stereo headphone you can enjoy listening to your music without the fatigue you can get with in-ear headphones. Plus since they sit near your ear you have the great advantage of not blocking out the sounds around you. The boom microphone works well and I never had a caller ask if I was on a headset at all. My second main criteria is always how comfortable a headphone is. This is where I have mixed feelings with this headset. I like that they do not fit in my ear. But for them to work they have to put constant pressure on your head just in front of your ears. It does not require a lot of pressure but even after wearing them for most of the last week I am still not where I forget I have them on. And it is not that they are uncomfortable but it is a different fit so it's a different feeling. Part of my issue is the headphone band. It is designed to keep the headphone in place and is where the stiffness that holds them in place comes. The band in the back doesn’t actually contact your head. On me the headband sits off about an inch from the back of my head. So if I sit back in my desk chair the band will touch my chair. It is like I know it's back there all the time ready to snag on something. And even though the headphone moves with my head I just have not become accustomed to it yet. Another issue I have is the boom mic doesn’t fit up against my face but bows out around the side of my face and sits about an inch away. To me this takes away from the ascetics of the headphone which for the most part they are very good looking. The headphones have a very nice feel and build quality. I like how simple the controls are. There is a dedicated multifunction button for managing calls that is easy to reach and works very well. There are two buttons for turning on the headset, paring and volume control. The button controls are simple and logical and I do like how they work. The headphone is IP55 rated which is particle and basic water protection. With their secure fit and the IP55 protection they should be just fine for active wear. Bluetooth pairing was simple and they also support NFC pairing although I didn’t need to use that function. The headphones come with a nice case and a magnetic quick charging cable. You will need to provide your own USB power adapter. If you're looking for a stereo headphone you can use all day and you do not need a high end music solution these may work very well. The way they vibrate to get that music to you and the fit is probably something you would have to try. Even in conventional headphones audio and fit will vary for each individual. Certainly for today's home office workers these have the unique feature of 8hrs of battery life with quick charging, they're great for phone calls and listening to your music in stereo but still having your ears open so you can hear what is going on around you. They won’t win any sound audio quality awards but what they do they do very well.

Functionally this is a very good piece of equipment. I find myself working remotely full-time, and we use web conferencing, and once I started using this headset, most problems just went away. I'm not adding static, feedback, or other bad sound issues. It must be optimized for voice communications because I can hear voices and follow conversations very well, even when people are speaking at the same time. My voice comes across loud and clear but not overpowering so I can easily join into conversations. The headset is also really comfortable. I can wear it all day and hardly notice it's on. So, for use in teleconferencing, this is a great headset.
If you are just looking for a comms headset to connect to your computer OR your phone, stop right here and get this one. If you are expecting more usefulness, read the rest of this to know what you're getting yourself into.
For me, the drawbacks are pretty significant and cost my review one star.
First -- the instructions aren't great. There's a thick users' guide, but it's only thick because it's in 13 different languages. The instructions only take up 6 pages and only include the basics. The instructions don't even tell you how to put it on your head, so I had to look at the one picture on the box to try to figure it out. Maybe it's obvious to some people, but just wearing it confused me at first. Also it isn't reversible. The mic is on the left side and the buttons are on the right side and that's that.
The instructions do include an awesome card that go into detail on how to pair the headset. Whoever made that card should have also made a quick reference card for the button functions. There's a + and a - button, plus a multifunction button. The buttons are very easy to find with your fingers, but there's all sorts of combinations, 2 second presses, 3 second presses, tap 2 buttons, hold 2 buttons, etc, that would be very handy to have on a card. I might even make a copy of the instruction pages or type out a table in word for these features for quick reference rather than carry around the 80-page, 13-language user guide.
It comes with a lovely custom-sculpted carrying case. But why?? If I'm travelling with it, I'm not going to devote the space equal to a thick grill-cheese sandwich. It's one piece and easy to feel-for, so I'd just stuff it on a pocket in my computer bag. The case also has a really nice pocket for the charging cable. The special charging cable. Why not go with micro-USB, USB-C or wireless? Where am I gonna find another cord for it if I'm on the road? I think that they should have gone with some other setup entirely, like either a charging case or a charging desk stand plus a travel cord.
So -- I recommend this only if you're using it for communication and don't expect to travel with it.

The was ok. The mic wasn’t great. Callers had a hard time hearing me. It’s not adjustable, so it kept sliding off my head/ears. Connecting wasn’t reliable. The dealbreaker for me, I wasn’t able to mute phone calls I was taking from my computer.

Got these to use to work remotely. They connected fine, but after about ten minutes the mic function would stop working. I could hear the person I was talking to, but they were unable to hear me, though they started out being able to. This has happened every time I use them.

I HATE using in ear devices, and it gets pretty warm here for over the ear headphones part of the year. The AfterShokz OpenComm headset seems to be a great compromise for me.
I had heard of these bone conducting headsets before and was excited to see how they worked. In many ways, they are better than I expected. The sound really does transfer very well through the bones, resulting in sound that is much louder in my head than it is to anyone else. There is a loss of some frequencies, probably just a limitation of the physics of transmitting sound this way. Because of this, listening to music is a little underwhelming, even compared to a very old set of over the ear headphones I had laying around.
Regular audio from speaking over the headset is very clear and this is where the headset really shines. I was able to carry on conversations on the headset as well as with people around me without pulling the headset off or lifting one of the ear pieces. This is exactly what I was hoping for and is what makes these really worth using.
When I need high quality sound, I can always slip on my over the ear Quiet Comfort headphones and enjoy uninterrupted music. All the rest of the time, these will fill the bill very well and I don't have to worry about anyone feeling ignored or needing to go out of their way to get my attention.
The controls take a bit of practice, but I am finding they aren't hard to get used to at all and they seem to hold a charge for a good long time. I have only charged them overnight, so I am not sure how long they actually take to completely refill a charge, but they are very lightweight and seem to fit my head very well. The only problem with the fit is that they wrap around the back of the head, meaning they hit any headrest or pillow you might be leaning against. Not a big deal, again... the regular headphones are for when I am trying to "disconnect" from the world!
Not so sure on the price, but these do fill a need very well.
