Wired headphones that need to be charged? Really? I guess it's mostly my fault for not seeing that before I purchased....

Quality Pair of Headphones for Working Out

I have to start by saying that before using these headphones I was not very familiar with bone conduction headphones or how they worked, but after using them I am a fan.
My impression of the headphones started with the packaging, which is very nice. The box opens via a magnetic flap that consists of the top and rightside. This was nice because there is no stickers to try and peel off or cut through to open the box. The headphones are packaged nicely inside along with the charging cord, storage pouch, and a brief set of instructions.
I made sure to charge the headphones first before using them, as I wanted to test how long a full charge would last. After seeing the led light on the headphones turn blue, indicating a full charge, I plugged them into my smartphone and slipped them on. The feel of the headphones is very comfortable and they are very light weight. I like how they sit in front of the ear instead of on top or inside it. After wearing them for an extended period of time they remained comfortable and didn't hurt my ears like in-ear headphones tend to do. The also stayed in place while exercising which is another big plus for this style of headphones. Based on comfort alone I would recommend these headphones, but the sound was also great.
I listened to all types of music with these headphones and was pleasantly surprised with their performance. I was skeptical at first at how well the sound of this type headphone would be, but my skepticism was quickly erased after using them for a bit. I could hear the whole range of sound from the high treble to the low bass. One interesting thing I noticed was how much you could feel the vibration of bass on your check/face when the volume was turned up. This didn't bother me at all, but I could see it bothering some people. Another thing worth noting about the sound is that it is more audible to people around the person wearing the headphones than your traditional style of headphones. This wasn't just at high levels too. I even noticed this at relatively low volumes. Again this didn't bother me much since I use them while running and biking outside, but I wouldn't recommend wearing these in bed while a signficant other is trying to sleep or anywhere else with close quarters, like on an airplane.
The battery life ended up being great. It definitely lasted the full 12hrs that is indicated on the box. Charging is quick and easy as well using the provided USB cord.
All in all I think this is great quality made pair of headphones that would work out well for anyone looking to use them while exercising even for extended periods of time.

Decent Headset

I recently received a pair of AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones. Initial setup is quite easy, just plug in the headphone jack to my device, hit the power button, and slide them on behind my head. The headphones are very light and comfortable to wear, total weight is 1.38 oz. I have listened to podcasts, music, YouTube videos, and Netflix. Sound quality is decent considering that speakers aren’t driving sound into your ear canal. The battery pack is extremely lightweight and gives hours of use. The battery pack size is 1” x 2.5” x .25” and is located about 2” from the audio jack. The battery pack is recharged via an included micro USB cable, it does not include a power adapter and recommended amperage is not listed. The headset does not have inline controls or microphone but does include a storage pouch and a 2-year warranty.
As far as fit, when sitting, walking, jogging, etc. the headphone sit just in front of my ears and conduct sound through my cheekbones into my inner ear. This allows you to hear sounds around you which Aftershokz refers to as “OpenFit™”. In my opinion, this is a fantastic feature of these headphones. Being able to listen to music while still being aware of your surrounding is great! One problem that I have with these headphones is that this model is one size. I’m 6’5” tall and have a large head. While in a natural position, the headphones fit fine. If I look up, the sound drivers slide back into my ears. I haven’t worn these while on my bike since my body position would not allow for proper placement of the drivers. Additionally, since the sound is conducted through your cheekbones, any jaw movement distorts sounds. This includes talking, eating, chewing gum, and mouth breathing. At higher volumes, you can feel the sound drivers vibrating and the sound becomes blown out. At a moderate volume, the sound is good. Audiophiles will probably be disappointed.

Overall a great headphone experience

This is definitely one of the most interesting headphone experiences I've ever had. Unboxing was easy and using them was incredibly easy, too, once you figured out how they're supposed to be oriented on your head. The bone-conduction technology was definitely neat. It allows for me to listen to music and talk to my friends at the same time. The bass in these is actually not bad. Better than I would have expected for a pair of headphones that doesn't even go inside the ear. Additionally, the over-the-ear fitting makes them fit extremely well on a variety of people's ears.
On the negative side of things though, you will see the battery life. Yes, that's right. A pair of wired headphones has to be charged. On the packaging it says the battery will last around twelve hours, but it has often been around six in my experience. That's still long enough to listen to a considerable amount of music, but it's still slightly annoying to have to go charge them every few hours. Had they been able to manage twelve hours of constant listening, this would likely have been much less of an issue.

I've been using these headphones for the past couple of weeks and I'm pretty impressed with this style of headphone. Out of the box, these are ready to go as this has a little battery pack that is close to the headphone jack. I've been looking for a pair of headphones that I could use on my road bike as well as out jogging as it lets me hear what's around me as well as on the road behind me. I've felt confident and comfortable wearing these.
I've also found that these have worked pretty well for gaming as I can plug these into my xbox one controller and get the game audio as well as hear what's going on around the house with no problem.
My only real complaint and the reason I gave this a 4-star review is that this has battery pack that is a little cumbersome at times, especially while running. I've accidentally turned the power off to the headphones mid-run if I'm not careful enough when stuff this pack into the armband holder I use for my phone. the pressure causes the button to get pressed and shuts it off.
Overall I'm pretty happy with these, though I wouldn't really use these around the office, as the audio that comes from the speakers tends to louder than in-ear headphones and others can readily hear what you're listening to more clearly. so be warned.

As a personal trainer and a marathon runner, I had the opportunity to check this new to me technology out on both accounts.. The question I asked myself..is do they deliver. First the packaging was perfect, I can and will use the box for storage so the headphones will last longer. The headphones are also light which doesn't give you the normal headache feeling one often gets. So the fist time I tied them I an a marathon. OMG they were perfect for it, and all the sweat that comes with it. I was able to keep a steady beat instead of fiddling with headphones that throws my time off. On the personal trainer side of things when I did my personal workout, the wires wee in the way , but that is normal.
Now I would like to address the sound, It is incredible, no more having ear buds stuck in your ear. The fact it is on the bone the bass is more vivid and comparable to concert sounds or close to Beats. Again zero headaches, which I tend to get from the "inside of the ear: issues. I love the lightweight it carries and actually you forget they are on I would 100% recommend the AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Conduction Headphones forr any and all level of runners. “This is a review for the AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

They're Great For What They're Designed To Be

First Impressions:
I used to listen to music all day with my other brand over-ear studio monitor headphones but I’ve always had to stop and take breaks because of the fatigue caused by my eyeglasses and their weight. The AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones are so light! It’s like I’m not even wearing headphones! They do sometimes hurt the outside of my ears (like that part you can get pierced—the tragus), but not to the extent and swiftness that earbuds hurt. Plus they’re easy to adjust to another position around my ears/cheekbones.
Using Them Impressions:
I started out by streaming music that I’m used to hearing to compare quality. Went with Rap, was underwhelmed with the lack of bass. I turned the volume up in hopes of increasing the bass, but only resulted in a feeling on my cheek that takes getting used to but doesn’t add to the void of bass. I guess maybe it’s like listening to the radio on an alarm clock. I reduced the volume back to about halfway, which is the sweet spot for these. I switched music genre and found myself enjoying them more and more. Again, so light and comfortable! They're no studio monitors, but the price doesn't justify the comparison. I did find issue with them being useful with Podcasts while in the office. The absence of music with words allowed my surrounding noise to be prevalent. I also find it weird these have a battery and need charged via the included micro-usb cable.
The Straightforward Decision:
Overall, I probably would’ve bought a pair of these even if I hadn’t received them to review. They're the perfect accompaniment to my over-ear studio monitor headphones. They’re great for listening to music and drowning out most surrounding office noise. Now my days will be less boring! Woot!

I've been using these the past week and can say that they are decent sounding headphones and good for workouts. They don't go in your ears so great if you get sweaty and have issues with headphones falling out. Sound quality can be good if positioned properly and seem to work best if your cheekbone is more "boney". Also, the volume can go quite loud even though not directly on the ear, which was a worry of mine.
Although sound quality can be quite good, they often slip out of position on your cheekbone and bass can suffer until repositioned. One large drawback is that they are battery powered and need to be charged. They turn off if unplugged and need to be turned on again which can get annoying. And the audio jack is slightly oval, which can have issues with cases and make it hard to plug in or easily unplugged.
Overall good set of headphones for workouts ^_^

Extremely Unique But Phenomenal Quality

Let me start off by saying these are the most unique headphones I have ever used and I was skeptical about them. That all changed very quickly. Un boxing them was easy and the package is very compact and everything was packed very nicely. Once I had them out of the box I noticed the quality was very good and they seemed very sturdy and just made very well. Now thr speakers on these are much larger than your normal headphones then again these are not your prototypical headphones. These deliver sound through your cheek bones which I was very skeptical of. I plugged them in and charged them up and put them on. These are very loud and had to turn down my volume halfway and could still hear them with no issue at all. They sit right before your ears and are extremely comfortable. They actually stay where there supposed to and don't move around at all. These are not wireless they do require a headphone jack but the cord is extremely long and doesn't tangle. Now as far as sound extremely nice highs and mids and the bass is not too bad these are for you to really enjoy music how it should be heard. Battery life is very good I used them for a solid 4 hours and battery drain was very minimal and should get the 12 hours it says you should get on a single charge. These are extremely lightweight headphones and I like the fact they don't actually sit in your ears. If you want something unique with fantastic sound give these a try. This is a review for the AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

-The headphones are packaged nicely, but that's where it ends.
-This wired version still HAS TO BE CHARGED via microUSB and has a clunky little BATTERY BACK a few inches from the jack.
-Head unit is not adjustable at all. So forget about getting it comfortable on your neck or ears, or positioning it for optimal audio delivery.
- Audio can be heard quite well outside the ear pieces. So wear them while jogging but switch to a different style for the library or a car ride with friends.
-I got this pair for my elderly father to plug into a hearing amplification device he wears around his neck, thinking it would reduce whistling feedback he gets sometimes. This magnified the feedback because audio spills out of the ear pieces so prominently.
-Bone induction is great technology that was poorly applied in these cheap-feeling headphones.

I was a bit skeptical about the AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones but I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I'm a a runner, and do some light weight lifting and stretching at the gym, so my requirements are relatively basic: I need something that stays on my head and is easy to use while running. These headphones definitely fit that set of criteria. They worked great while running, and felt firmly in place.
As of late, I've been dealing with a persistent ear issue that has made me really not want to stick headphones into my ear canal, so this product actually ended up being a really welcome solution to that issue. I really never imagined you'd be able to get full sound from headphones that weren't actually inside your ear, but these manage it quite impressively.
Bass and treble sound great, and volume is adjusted via your device, just like it would be normally. I fail to see any downside to the sound quality really. The one thing that could make these a bit tough for some users is that they don't have any form of adjustment. So I could see somebody with a smaller head possibly having an issue keeping them firmly in place to get the best sound quality. So maybe smaller people are stuck missing out until a more adjustable version comes out.

I workout on a daily basis and my music puts me in my zone. Ive used expensive headphones in the past but invariably they break down and i have to find another pair. So i got in a habit of buying el-cheapo earphones and that served me well since they are easy to replace. However they are not loud enough for me to really get into my zone.
I was given the pair of aftershokz to review. They have a 'bone conducting' technology which in my opinion is really a gimmick for 'really strong reverb'. Its a bit ackward to learn to use as they hang on outside your ears. But they do find a way to grip.
Ive used them for jump roping, speedbag, heavy bag, running, weights. pretty much any high active workout and they dont fall off. Only when doing an exercise like dips do the back part of them get in the way since the neck is craining back. Otherwise im very happy they stay in place unlike regular ear pieces.
These things can get LOUD. so loud in fact they distort the music. They are not the kind of headphones you would buy to hear quality of music. Just one you want really loud to tune everything else out.
As i said i believe the bone conducting part is more marketing gimmick than reality but then again i have nothing else to compare it to.
I would give it 5 stars but i have not used them long enough to see how the cables hold up over time. But the battery does keep a nice long charge that im confident it wont be flat when i pick it up after a few days and workouts.
I got these for free for a review. Would i buy them if i lost them? Perhaps. It will depend on how durable the cables are. Only several months of use will determine that.

Hello everyone, I am a person who likes to test new devices I have never tried before. This month I have received these bone conduction headphones. When I received the package in the mail, I questioned myself how tiny the package was and when I had opened it, it was interesting to see the design of them. Instead of going in my ears, they actually go just before the ears close to the opening. The headphones are very light and very comfortable.
Now I will talk about my experience, they are very thin and it allows me to be aware of my surroundings. I was able to do work and be able to hear my family walking around the house and not be surprise they came to me asking questions. They are useful when I'm cooking and they almost feel like they are not even there. This was also interesting to use when in the car. I was able to make sure I was able to pay attention to the road and not get in trouble. The sound is clear and I just have to put the sound louder than regular headphones to hear them. The only downside to these headphones was that there is no microphone. I will be continue using these headphones and hopefully there will be a new pair coming soon too. Great open headphones for casual listening

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The major selling point for these headphones is bone conduction technology to deliver sound (e.g., Jawbone headset). If you have not experience this technology, the headphones will feel strange at first, but you'll get used to it after a few songs.
The battery attached to these headphones power the drivers. Since it has a small capacity, charging it is quick. It has 1 power button and 1 micro USB port for charging.
In terms of sound, they sound pretty good and should do nicely for casual listening (e.g., while doing chores, jogging, weight training and driving). Since these are "open" headphones, you'll be able to hear what's going on around you at moderate volume. If you tilt your head all the way back, then the headphones will be closer to your ear canals and get louder sound...great for staring at the night sky? :-)
Although these do not come with a microphone (there is one version that does for @$10 more), the mics on my Thinkpad and my iPhone had no trouble handling that function.
The downside to these headphones is that there is no volume/skip controls. You will need to do it on the source device, which is only slightly inconvenient.

Of note, I've been using this product for only about 1 week and I received this product for an unbiased review. In order to post an unbiased review, I am reviewing this product as if I had paid the full cost of the product (Currently listed on Bestbuy at $49.95).
Overall, I love the concept and sound of the headphones. The speakers of these headphone sit in front of your ears and not in your ears. If you're looking for noise-canceling or sound isolating headphones, this is not the right product. But if you don't mind being aware of your surroundings, these work great. If the volume is high, you may not be able to truly hear what people are saying, but if you set it right, you can definitely alternate your attention between music and outside speech, which is awesome. This would make it perfect for driving or biking, when you don't want to be completely isolated from the environment. In regards to the quality, I'm not an audiophile, but these sound really good. The sound is clear and it has nice bass. An interesting thing about the bass is that it vibrates on your head a little, which is kind of cool but also kind of feels weird. The battery life is pretty good and you can listen to quite a lot of music on one charge. Overall the feel over the ears is comfortable and it's pretty light weight.
Now the down sides. First, the cover for the charging port is annoyingly difficult to remove. If your nails are clipped and you don't have something really small to stick under the cover, it will be very hard to take off the charge port cover. Another down side is the cord length on the "distal" side of the battery (the side connected to the 3mm jack) -- it's only about 2" long, and I wish it were longer. But the overall cord length is fine. A third con is the LED that indicator. When turning the device on, it turns blue for a second, and then turns off. I have frequently forgotten to turn the device off since the LED doesn't stay on when the device is on. I would like to see the LED stay on when the device is on.
Bottom line, a very cool concept and good sound, but if I'm paying $50 for headphones, they should have these annoying quirks about them. I think if those quirks don't bother you, it's definitely worth the purchase.
Again, I am reviewing this as if I paid $50 so that the I can post an unbiased review. This is a review for the AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

First off, the headphones look great. The ocean blue color contrasts very well with the black and makes for a beautiful look. However, looks definitely are not everything. These bone conduction headphones don't conduct at all. In reality, they are just two relatively large speakers that are placed in front of your ear to give the appearance of bone conduction. Because of this, the music plays quite loud and other people can hear it when they are near me. They advertise that since the earphones don't sit in-ear, they still allow background noise to be easily heard which is just not the case. Even when the music wasn't loud, I couldn't make out what people were saying to me. They aren't the most comfortable headphones and gave me a headache after an hour of use. Also, in an hours time the headphones stopped playing music twice even though my device said music should still be playing. I restarted them and they worked fine, but it still shut off every half hour which is annoying. There is a large black box at the bottom of the cord where the charging port is that is quite annoying. Since it is heavy, it has to go in your pocket and that makes the cord shorter than it could be. Also, it seems strange that wired headphones need to be charged in the first place. I see this on high-quality headphones, but these headphones aren't the best quality. Average at best and I would not recommend them to a friend.

When I first got the headphones, they seemed a little weird but after a while of using them they’re amazing. The design is a little weird considering that they sit right next to your ear and it takes a while to set them in the right spot. But, once you find the sweet spot they work perfectly. The cord usually doesn’t get in the way when you’re walking around either and the clip attached to the cord also helps with this issue. The sound coming out of the headphones is amazing considering they aren’t in your ears but, they sound like they are. Something I wish these headphones had are media controls and a microphone because I found myself looking for those controls on the battery pack a lot. The battery life is also amazing, I never had an issue with the headphones dying and left them of constantly over the course of the day. I did recharge it once because I did run them dry and it only took 2 hours to recharge. Since they don’t sit in your ears you can still hear everything happening in the world and even carry a conversation while listening to music. These headphones are really cool and they are quickly replacing my everyday over the ear headphones.

Having eagerly awaited their arrival, I was excited to finally try out the bone conduction headphones. I was initially skeptical of the idea but am actually surprised how well they sound. The headset is very
comfortable and stays in place much better than any around the ear headset I've tried. The sound is very crisp and clear, however it does not have very strong bass. (Unless you plug your ears while
wearing). The best thing about this headset is that I can still hear my surroundings while wearing.
I have tried them out for several days now and even wore them while mountain biking. They fit great under my helmet and with sunglasses. They stayed in place with sharp head turns and rough trails. My biggest issue is that they are not wireless. It seems too easy to rip the headset cord out of the battery pack if it snagged on something. A breakaway plug of some sort would have been nice.
Overall, the headset exceeded expectation and is a good value.
Pros:
Clear sound with good volume.
Fit great and stay in place.
Extra long cord.
Battery charge lasts forever.
Cons:
High risk of pulling cord out of battery.
Not much low end.
Can vibrate and tickle cheeks with very bassey songs at higher volume.
No mic/volume control.

These headphones seemed a bit strange when I first got them. I was honestly questioning "how am I going to hear?", as I never used bone conduction before. However, the quality of sound was very good. I could still hear, what was going on in my surroundings, but I could also hear the music.
These would be great for athletic people who are commonly out running. I haven't used them on a run yet, but they seem like they will be good when I do. Other than getting used to the strange new way these work, I have had no issues. 5 stars.
