A very intense and creepy story. The game gets you very engaged from the start. You playvasbthe character Alan Wake, a famous writer know for his stories of mystery and horror. The game is super interactive and leaves you fearful playing through it. Its connected to the game Control made by the same devs. The game is a definite to play.

I played the PS5 version, which comes free with purchase of the PS4 version. It ran excellently, a rock-solid 60FPS which made it a breeze to play.
Alan Wake's got an unusual story for a video game; it takes a lot of inspiration from Stephen King. Rare to see a game commit to a modern-day American setting, but I enjoyed it a lot. The actual mystery/horror elements turn out kind of lame, and the third-person shooter gameplay gets repetitive. But for $20 I'm happy with what I got. If you're looking for a better spooky third-person shooter, I'd recommend Control from the same developer.

Great game, great soundtrack, and even better atmosphere. The gameplay is very repetitive but the story is what carries this game.

The remastered version of a classic! If you had a chance to play Alan Wake back in the Xbox 360 then you know what to expect. In this version all the graphics were remastered but special attention was paid towards Alan himself. You can tell he has more detail than the other characters. Thanks to the 60fps support the game now feels very smooth. This version also includes all of the previously released DLC which now makes the story a little bit longer and more in depth. This was a nice way to re-introduce us to the world o f Alan Wake. Can't wait to see what else is in store for us in the future!

Glad I finally got to play this. I'm a Playstation/Nintendo owner, don't really care for Xbox, so when this was an exclusive for a bit I didn't get to play it. I'm glad this came out so I could experience it. Fun story, great sound, voice acting. The game mechanics feel dated obviously since it's a remaster of an older game, but that won't stop your enjoyment.

A solid port that tweaks many of the game's flaws while remaining vastly true to the original. Tense action sequences see you facing gangs of the Taken, enemies shrouded in shadow that must be exposed to light before they can be defeated, and the atmosphere of the world ensures you are always double-checking every shadow you see out of uncertainty.
The limited ammo cap and the constant camera-pulling may put off some, but if you can endure, you will experience a horror adventure that pays homage to the likes of Stephen King, weaving a tale of otherworldly forces trying to break into the work by way of the writings of the titular character.

I own the collectors edition on the 360, and enjoyed the game. I thought I would pick up the remaster. The visuals have been improved, and it looks pretty good. I always found the game a little frustrating in spots. My mind still hasn’t changed on that. I was also hoping for some extras, but nothing included. It’s a cool little horror game, but is is worth playing again? I would say if you own the 360 version, you don’t need to buy it again. Otherwise if you never played it, then do pick it up.

Bought this for a friend for Xmas since he's been wanting to play it. Still the best game for Xbox 360, glad to have it on the PS4 with more polished graphics for sure and extremely stoked for Alan Wake 2 in 2023

A cool and surreal horror game that gives you the tools to fight back against the threats in the game, this is a horror game with combat. The encounters are intense and I really enjoyed the weird narrative

I enjoyed this game overall, could use some QOL improvements. Frustration does set in at times with some aspects of the gameplay, butI liked it and I am looking forward to the sequel.
