Had the specs I was after, but wasn't thrilled with the video card. Wanted the smaller unit, but the screen was too small after all.

This OLED screen is amazing. Super refresh ans Crisp Black. I play games in full graphic with no lag at all. Plus its light compared to 17" models. Perfect mobile gaming system.

The display is very sharp and super bright. For the games I'm playing it also works great. Considering the graphics amplifier to ramp up and play some rift games.

It was used 6 times and died - doesn't charge. It's also 1900 miles away w kid in college - he can't use it until he brings it home - we take it to geeks and try to get it fixed .

the only way to go is alienware. If you can afford it , do it. They are the best laptop for gaming and personal use.

    Amazing Gaming Laptop

I was looking for something small that I could play steam games on at night in bed. It fits the bill perfectly and has played every game I've thrown at it flawlessly. I'm currently playing the latest Hitman game and Divinity: Original Sin, which work perfectly. Only downside is the heat that is generated while playing a more graphically intensive game, but that is a small price to pay for such a great gaming experience!

    Amazing laptop

I'm not sure what's up with Best Buy's review system as I've attempted to post this review 3 times now with 0 success (this being the 4th attempt). On to the laptop! I had been doing tons of research on new gaming laptops/pc's when I attended PAX East this past April. I stumbled upon the Alienware/Oculus booth and had a chance to play Dark Souls 3 on this laptop and I was absolutely blown away. The colors, the smoothness of the image were just outstanding. Fast Forward to 2 months ago when I received mine from BBY. I priced/spec'd it out on Dell's website and ultimately BBY had the best price/spec combination available. I picked mine up and had Geek Squad toss in another 8gb ram for 16gb total and swapped out the 5400 RPM HDD with a Samsung SSD - which I absolutely recommend. The performance of this pc is pretty great. I can run most games (Bioshock Infinite, Dark Souls 3 - as examples - at full 1080p and 60fps.)Overwatch struggles a little bit at max settings and 1080p and hovers around 50-55fps. Battery life is decent should you attempt to use it - I can run max brightness/battery saver and get around 4 - 5 hours of watching movies/browsing the web. The keyboard on this thing is just fantastic. The throw of the keys is nice and deep. The trackpad however leaves much to be desired and I only use mine when my Logitech Proteus mouse isn't plugged in. Enough cannot be said about the OLED screen and it's 1ms response time. This thing is absolutely beautiful. The colors are so incredibly rich and vibrant. It will honestly ruin every other laptop screen for you and you'll never want to use anything else. I had really considered exchanging this for the 15.6 alienware with the 970 and quad i7 as it's only 100 bucks more - but I can't let go of this screen and the size is just great for my use. Overall HUGE recommendation.

    Heavy, slow, poor battery life

This system should not have been sold with a 500 GB HHD, it's practically unusable it's so slow. I upgraded to a 256 GB SSD and it's better, but the battery only lasts an hour playing a game and the laptop can't sit on standby or the battery runs down. Also, there are devices in the control panel which don't have drivers!!! The laptop ships without all its drivers loaded! And there's no restore media... Alienware has a method for this, but it hasn't been updated for Windows 10 yet.

The BEST 13" Laptop on the Market. Sorry Apple.

For the past 10 years I have been solely a Mac user, but with the travesty of a product that is the 2016 MacBook Pro I decided to look at Windows for my computing needs for the first time since getting my first iMac in 2007. I've always been a fan of OLED screens, and with this being the first and only laptop with an OLED display, I figured it was worth at least trying out. Let me just tell you... the display is WOW. Easily the best screen on any laptop. Ever. And not only is it beautiful to look at, it's also touch enabled! As for the rest of the machine, it's just solid. It only weighs just over 4 lbs but has a core i7 processor (dual core, but still quite zippy), 500GB of storage (and the SSHD gets much quicker after a few days of usage as the 8GB partition learns what to store in it), a TRUE GPU with 4GB of VRAM (that performs and benches comparably to the top end AMD chip in the maxed out 15" MBP that costs upwards of $4k), 8GB of RAM that is easily upgrade-able to 16, and an incredible keyboard. While you get used to the keys on the new MacBooks, the Alienware keyboard with its 2.2mm of key travel absolutely CRUSHES the MacBook's, and is a total joy to type on. And all of this is packed into a pretty sleek, sexy, and portable 4.4 lb machine that is fun to use, stocked with ports (wish it had an SD card slot though, but easily mediated with a card reader), has a STUNNING 2K OLED display, incredible keyboard, and an upper mid-tier graphics chip that can actually handle gaming and video editing. All for under $1500. Apple should watch out.

    Terrible laptop terrible service

Aside from the touchpad not working when I first purchased it and it constantly have display issues and running slowly, after 6 months of ownership it turned off while rendering an animation and will not turn back on. Dell has had it for almost 4 weeks waiting for a battery (back ordered which they have changed the in stock date 2 times) and is now saying I qualify for a refurbished replacement laptop which they say will take another 3 weeks before it will ship or keep waiting for a battery (estimate of 2 more weeks) Buy if u plan on risking not having a laptop for a month and a half to have it repaired.

I purchased and returned the new Alienware 13 R2 OLED laptop from Best Buy. I bought it with the anticipation of putting in a fast SSD drive, since it comes with a slow 500gb regular hard drive. I took it apart and Alienware does not have any other ports for an SSD. This makes no sense, I wanted to put a Samsung SSD 950 PRO NVMe 512GB SSD in the laptop. Save yourself the time and not buy one, I ended up just ordering the highest end off Alienware' s website.

First of all the laptop that I supposedly bought was the newer and better one, however it was actually this one it was mislabeled. Got it Sunday was super excited. however had problems trying to get the screen on that day finally it came on (im a mac user so I thought maybe i was doing something wrong). Got it got to play with the colors and make it my own. Monday came and actually put 2.30 hrs of game time on it. Put it on the charger for a bit then unplugged it did not touch it. Tuesday night comes and I try to get on nothing does not respond at all. Wednesday I take it back they inspect it and come to the conclusion that the motherboard went out on it keep in mind I only had it for three days. Was really sad so wanted this laptop to work out. Looking further into this type of laptop I've seen many issues. Sooo I am staying away. Great costumer service though Best Buy! The one star is for the pretty lights and the touch screen.
