Your not going to get a better gaming machine for the price. Also unlike the very similar Alienware Steam Machine this box is identical, has Windows OS and at the time of this review is cheaper. I've been able to play Sleeping Dogs and Dirt 3 in 1080p, highest settings with 50-60fps. Tomb Raider with high settings and TressFX hair at 1080p at about 40fps. Ultra Street Fighter 4 highest settings 1080p at 120fps. In no way is this the strongest gaming machine out there but at $420 your not going to get a new pc that can do this for this price. Also uses the Kodi interface that gives a nice console type interface with both Steam and Origin apps already installed. YouTube app (i also believe it had a netflix app). Can also be put into Windows Desktop mode and used just like any other pc. I find this too be a great living room computer, that met all my needs.

Got mine Alienware Alpha for $495. Finally i own a gaming PC console and this is pretty cool. Small.. portable... fast.. and i can play Dayz! Not bad for a noob like me.

I love the form factor of this device! Also, as long as you're not playing resource intensive games it runs mostly quiet and cool. If you have reasonable expectations, especially given the price and size, you'll be more than satisfied with what the Alpha can offer. I use this primarily as a PC and secondly as a gaming platform. I'm able to play the included games, such as Metro Last Light on high settings at 1080p comfortably in the 30-40 fps range. This is a great secondary computer for light gaming and productivity or perhaps as an entry into PC gaming.

I bought this as a beginner PC gamer. I wanted to get into PC gaming but I din't know how to build my own rig and thus seems to meet most min requirments. I only had this for a couple of evening but I have played games like hearthstone and heroes of the storm and they look great! I can't wait to play some of the free games that from steam just for buying this system! Some of the free games include magika, metro last light, and the awesomenuats!

Really great product once you get all the graphic drivers updated on Windows 10. Amazing this is 1/10 the size of my custom built PC from over 5 years ago that only went down when the HD fried. This is smaller and more powerful. I can play SC2 and Dota 2 just fine on max settings. I have a laptop from 2011 with i7 processor and this i3 is faster not sure why? Great product.

It's a quality build pc. Wasn't expecting from this tiny box, but it handle all my single player games very well. If that's what you play most of the time, it's a nice Alienware to take home with. But if you are a MMORPG gamers I recommended you go back to the big chunky desktop. Through my experience with it, it gets overheating after an hour of MMO gaming. I maybe wrong about this but I do get froze n extremely lag after an hour of gaming with this pc. I also check the temperature of the cpu, it's only few more degrees it will reach maximum temperatures. After all I return it. That all the review I ll post here. Next paragraph is a little complain about their services. I would have rate it 3-3.5 stars for this product, but I rated 2 just cuz when I return this product. They make me wait at least 45 min and the lady told me I should build my own computer with 3 graphic cards each one cost $400+(Lol). Just bcuz I need a better pc.

I recently purchased Alienware Alpha $550 version, and I just wanted to comment on the console itself, I'm a 13 year old boy who had trouble looking for the perfect PC gaming desktop, and I saw this product at Walmart, so the day after Christmas I went out and bought one myself, I also purchased the GAEMS G115 Sentry Personal Gaming Environment from GameStop, and hooked it up with the Alienware Alpha, its perfect, portable and amazing when you put them together, I played my games from my steam library and they all ran perfectly smooth, but I want to purchase Advance Warfare and noticed I need 6GB of RAM at least, besides that I think this is the best mini desktop PC/console you can get out there Thank You Alienware for your awesome product.

I bought this computer to replace an aging PS3 and to stream videos from iTunes. It streams videos very well, and is very nice with a wireless keyboard. I have found all of my steam games are PC based and don't work on the console side without the keyboard and mouse despite the fact that some of the games are also available for XBox and Playstation. There are limited games that are controller compatible, and the console side locks the games into the highest resolution mode. This leaves some of the older legacy games in small windows. I prefer to run Steam on the Windows boot so that I can run them full screen. Other than that this is a fine little computer and the price is very reasonable.

First true steambox and definitely impressed. Long live PC gaming.

Loving every bit of this AA. I never thought the i3 dual core would be this powerful. high settings on most games without a problem. easily upgrade your RAM and HDD on this.
