Customers consistently note the Aurora R11's excellent performance and impressive graphics capabilities, frequently praising its speed and visual quality. Many also appreciate the system's value for the price and the inclusion of a fast SSD. However, some users suggest improvements could be made to the cooling system to prevent overheating during intensive use, and a few mention that the case design could be optimized for better airflow.

This is a fast computer. I love being able to log right into Diablo 3. Great graphics and being able to change the color is fun.

This is an excellent buy. Easy to add memory if you have to. Ready right out the box.
While the graphics card is not the latest, it is pretty good, especially with graphics cards to come buy.
I ultimately didn't keep this because I found a build that had a better graphics card and a processor that was quicker. (This one runs at 2.9 mghz and I had one that runs at 3.6 mghz). But the motherboard is top notch, with WIFi AX and an ethnernet connection that allows up to 5 ghz bandwidth.

The unit is a powerhouse and looks nice with the addressable lights and so on. Internal unit has space for additional laptop size hard drives and expansion slots.
Some of the negatives are that for the price it comes with a very basic and cheap keyboard and mouse. If you want the correct Alienware Keyboard and Mouse add about $200 to the price. The other thing is I ordered my reconditioned. It was sent with a bad hard drive. That should of been caught when it was being recertified.
Overall I have been happy with the Alienware/Dell brand. The unit is also very quiet which is nice.

Excellent speed would be nice if it had even a basic internal speaker though. Playing call of duty causes the fan to spoil up and it’s pretty loud. Can connect to just about anything u need. I suggest a larger ssd drive if that options available bc the system is loaded to the ssd that comes with it which uses a lot of it. But all in all a fast computer

I use to get mad all the time playing Arena so my Arena friends told me dont get mad get GLAD computer. So i did. Im about a month into the glad computer and no Gladiator title. However the streaming quality is amazing, it gets hot every once in a while but my friends said make sure I “use fans” so i bought a toshiba 5 ft tall fan that blows on my computer.
If i dont hit glad I might have to return this.

When it comes to performance of the computer, it has played all of my games on max settings with no issues(Cod Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and the Division 2). Where this computer is not so good is when it comes to the cooling factor. Using the recommended "Performance" setting, on the Alienware Command Center, by a Dell associate, my computer still showed temperatures of 90C plus for the CPU and at one point hitting 100C. I was able to bring the temps down to 68C to 75C while gaming, but that makes the fans run loud. That doesn't bother me personally, but it does for some. I think, for the money, there are much better case designs out there that allow for better airflow and allow for easily accessable fan additions and placement.

Brand response from YourDellTeam

Hello MHILL1500,
Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that your laptop is running a little warmer than you would like. Your feedback is sincerely appreciated. If system thermals are of concern, you can prioritize cooling by opening the Alienware Command Center application that came pre-installed with your device and select the 'Cool' thermal profile. You can view the full article here - https://dell.to/2XAULtU.
Keep in mind that our G7 follows Intel performance design guidelines, which can lead CPU temperatures to reach 100°C to output top in-game performance. We fully warrant the product under these conditions. If you see CPU temperatures rising beyond 100°C on Alienware Command Center, you are more than welcome to contact Dell support for further assistance at 1-800-264-9896.
Best regards, Wendy C.

This thing is a beast! I have had this cpu for a year now and it handles everything i throw at it with ease. Even world of warcraft on ultra (which is demanding) is no match for this thing. Have only heard the extra fan kick on maybe 3 times now and only a few seco ds. Very pleased with and well worth the money.
