I bought this speaker and had two of them blow, given I was running them pretty hard, but not with a big amp. I'm not sure why, most people love this woofer, but it just didn't work for me

type r sound much better type s are if youre not looking to have iu car shake

I had these installed and we were not pulling anywhere close to maximum wattage and the coil got all tangled up and I have no idea what happened and it doesn't work anymore don't waste your money these are cheaply made

Then failed less then 2 years in. Now I have to buy another one. Alpine doesn't live up to its name

All I can say is, wow. I've gone through several sets of subwoofers and I gotta tell ya, out of all of them, these hit the hardest, and cleanest out of all my sets that I have had. I have had 1 10 inch Type R that I thought would hit the hardest out of anything, and boy was I wrong. These Type S's carry old Type R technology with the HAMR sound quality and for what you buy its definitely worth every penny! I would not go with the new type R's over these. If your looking for quality over quantity (sound quality over bass quantity like me) then the Type S is for you! I have an Alpine MRX-M110 that was attached to 1 10 inch new Type R and now I am putting that amp at 1 ohm stable with 800 watts rms so 400 watts each, which is under-powering them and they still hit hard! This is definitely quality work by Alpine! Thanks Best Buy for the Type S's!

one of thease subwoofers are busted and i havent had themm 1 month

These speakers do not hit hard like they are soppose to

I love it. The right size, the right sound and the right bass. It's not pounding my eardrums but it can. My son loves it. Now always wants to be in the front and put it to his liking. The truck is going to be his in a little while so it great for him and whoever he has in the truck with him. All around all GOOD
