My first pair of these were a quick pick at a local box store. When I first used them I couldn't believe how well they sounded for the little I payed for them. I wore them almost every day for over a year at my job. I am in quality control at a Forge plant and it is extremely loud. Never had a problem hearing anything I was listening to. I have caught the cord on parts as I was tossing them into tubs, I have got them so hot that I took them off from fear of melting them and soaked from sweat to the point it looked like I walked out of the shower and they still worked perfectly!! I thought if these inexpensive ones worked this well that something costing more would be even better so I bought others at two and three times the price and was very disappointed, didn't even come close the sound quality of my Altec's, So I found them on line and bought two more pair just incase I ever do manage to destroy my first pair.
