The Echo Dot’s orb shape offers easy access to Alexa. The version featuring a clock is a great bedside companion and alarm. Pairing it with a separately purchased battery base lets you use Alexa anywhere without being tethered to a power outlet. The 5th Gen model includes a built-in room temperature sensor, perfect for smart-home routines or simply checking the current room temperature. The setup is easy, and the sound quality is very good. I enjoy the easy access to my favorite XM radio stations before bed (e.g., “Alexa, play Stars on XM Radio for one hour/30 minutes”). It’s easy to control functions with voice commands like “Alexa, lower the volume by 1” or “Alexa, increase the volume by 2.” Or just use the well-marked controls on top of the orb. There are many routines and smart-home features, or easy tasks such as setting different timers (e.g., “Alexa, set a laundry timer for 40 minutes” or “Alexa, set a roast timer for one hour”) and general reminders (e.g., “Alexa, remind me to call my brother tomorrow at 9 am”). I like it so much that I picked up a second one for my living room during a sale.

The device was not new, it arrived stained and the charger dirty. At purchase it indicated that it was new.

I’m not a tech savvy but love new technology though. I was never paid any attention much when it comes to Echo Dot or any other models/version. Until last Xmas, 2022 my mother in law, who’s 78 years old told me about 5th generation of Echo Dot LOLOL. She said to just get it and follow easy instructions. She’s guaranteed I’ll love it. So I did and it was the best present for myself EVER! It’s reasonable price (on sale) and it’s easy to follow through steps for light and link to my Sony smart TV LOLOL. Well after a year went by (so fast) I have these in every bed room and each floor (3 floors) have them for lights and TVs as my main purpose! If you’ve not had this in your house yet maybe try Echo Dot 5th gen first before moving up to other model/version. I bought mine from Bestbuy (said to myself if I couldn’t make it work I can return. However, I wasn’t planned to let my in law knows that I couldnt figure it out and had to return LOLOL). The world is moving forward daily so I’ve learned that I need to move with it LOL.

I've used Echo's for years. This is a nice update, with very good (not quite great) sound, small footprint, and nice appearance. I love the smart clock feature that will also "echo" other information such as the temperature when you ask for the weather, and the artist and track when you're listening to music. It has a built in motion sensor that you can use for programming events (using the Alexa App on your phone) such as turning on smart lights when you come into a room. It also has a touch sensor so that when you tap the top, it will pause music or restart it. It comes with a built-in thermometer that you can also use to program events such as turning on smart devices at certain temps. the LED's will sense room light and dim automatically in the dark, so you don't blind yourself at night, and you can set the base levels in the Alexa App. I bought two of these for our bathroom to listen to music and news while getting ready in the morning. You can pair them so they act as left and right speakers. This works VERY well, the sound really good in paired stereo. They will also share volume control, so changing the volume on one changes the volume on the other too. When two Echos are in the same room, they will both activate with "Alexa" but only the closest one will respond to the command. Recommended.

This Echo Dot with clock display is a nice smart speaker. I purchased it to replace an Insignia Google smart speaker with clock due to a lack of continued support. It would no longer set an alarm. I am very pleased with this Echo Dot. It has good sound quality and I am able again to use my smart speaker to set alarms. It controls my entire home’s smart devices. The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t go to sleep with rain sounds in a continuous loop without paying a monthly fee for it. I kept my old Google speaker because it plays sleep sounds for free. I also like the look and size of this Echo Dot.

I've been wanting a clock that I can see at night, and this turns out to be perfect. First of all, it's smaller than I thought it would be, which is a good thing. The clock automatically adjusts to the lighting in the room, so it's easy to see in the daytime and not overly bright at night. As a huge added bonus, it works as an eero Mesh Wi-Fi 6 extender. Using this as an extender, I am able to move one that I had in that room to another location to improve our wifi coverage. The cost of an eero extender alone costs more than the Echo Dot with clock. Last but not least, it's an Echo Dot smart speaker, so I can ask Alexa to set alarms, tell me the weather, give me sports scores, play music, etc. For such a small device, the sound is excellent and it even displays the artist and the name of the song using the same LEDs that the clock in scrolling text. With all those features, what's not to like. Overall, I just love my new Echo Dot and everything about it. Highly recommended!

The newest generation of the Amazon Echo Dot has all the features you could possibly want in a smart speaker. I was impressed with the sound quality (hear that subwoofer rumble!), customizability in the Alexa app, the smart clock display on the front (which allows for great readability even at a distance), and the convenient touch sensor on top of the device. I would def. pick this up over the normal gen 5 Echo dot if you want a bedside alarm clock companion.

Very useful and easy to use.The process to set up was very easy to do. The product saves space to. I like the color of it to. Having a clock built in is convenient to have. Being able use as hand feee is big plus.

I am usually against devices you can talk to and then it talks back. Something about it seems unnerving. HOWEVER this little gadget has really grown on me! I’m sure I haven’t tapped into everything it can do but I love how easy it is for me to ask it to set a timer, morning alarm, play Pandora or pick up where I left off on audible. I think the size is cute, the look blends in well, and the bottom is very sturdy.

This little thing makes the best alarm clock in the world; I personally like having the clock readout on the device, I can tell the basic time without having to have a conversation with Alexa each time. And the setup is a breeze. It's perfect size for the nightstand, non-obtrusive, and does all the Alexa stuff that every other unit does, without a screen.

I bought this Echo Dot with Clock to replace my older one. It's got great sound for listening to Amazon music. The clock is easier to see since the display is higher than the previous version. It was also easy to setup as an extension to my Eero mesh WIFI system (BONUS!). Very happy with my purchase.

I purchase this for my son as a Christmas gift. He loves the color and the display of time. We have his alarm set to wake him up and I love how the alarm sounds. The music plays well on this well. We purchased during Black Friday the price was well with it.

I've owned several Echo Dots going back to gen 1 and this is the best yet. I really like the new display. Sound is pretty good for a small package and the price on sale was very reasonable. Set up is easier than ever.

Great unit, good sound quality, and a display that is exceptionally easy to read, especially at night. The alexa integration is excellent just as all my other Echos. But it has one major flaw (IMHO) that Amazon needs to fix. The gen five Dots have a built in temperature sensor, and some (maybe all) are not accurate. I have gone through three Dot Clocks and each read three to four degrees lower than the actual room temperature. This was verified by three thermometers placed within inches of the clock. After getting three with the same error I begin searching the net for a different calibration routine. what I found was several posting on Reddit with customers having the same exact problem. One commenter stated Amazon knew of the problem and was coming out with a software patch which would fix the error. However that post is now five months old. So if you need an accurate temperature reading in the room, don't buy this product until Amazon fixes it. Otherwise the Echo Dot Clock is a great product.

This is very user friendly & good sound & value for the price. I’m not very tech savvy but this was very easy to set up. The clock face is perfect. Easy to see a In dark but without the glare with some clocks .

I never had a desire to buy an Alexa product for myself, but had been shopping for a clock radio when I saw the Echo Dot with illuminated time feature on display at Best Buy. I liked the design and size and it was on sale so I thought I would give it a try. It was easy to set up. The sound quality is excellent. I love that I can simply speak to it from anywhere in the room and get information about the weather and current news. I can set alarms/reminders, listen to music, audio books, get definitions, recipes, and so much more just by asking. It's easier than looking up the same information on my computer or smartphone. I must say that the Echo Dot is one of the best purchases I have ever made and I probably won't ever be without one, if I can help it.
