This little thing is pretty groovy. It's small and I like that it can be plugged in anywhere. It's responsive and the light is bright and noticeable. The speaker is on pare with one of the old am transistor radios from when I was a kid. But, I wanted one in my workshop so that if I ever injured myself or had a medical emergency, I can go through Alexa to call 911 or just use it as to broadcast to my wife that I need help. Thankfully I haven't needed it for that purposes but all the other features seem to work well.

I put this one in the bathroom. Works great in there due to it's size. The speaker is very small though but I have a Bluetooth speaker I can turn on if I want. It'll auto connect to the Bluetooth once it's set up. You can add a night light or a motion sensor to this. Would be great by the front door with the sensor. You can program it so when it's set off it'll turn on a light for you automatically. I haven't used the add ones but I didn't even know about them until recently so just throwing that out there.

This is an excellent echo flex smart speaker, for me it is perfect for a small room like a bathroom; in addition if you wish something louder you can add a Bluetooth or wired speaker. It is very convenient to listen to music, news, or audio books. I definitely recommend it, no doubt about it

Another great device to have in your home that goes well with other Alexa devices. Alexa is compatible with many different devices.

It is very cheap if you can get it for 9.99 price. I put this in my bath room which is very convenient because it has a usb slot for which i which use to keep a wireless pad available if needed. Sound is terrible for listening to music, i didn't get this for music, So if you want one that plays good music get a better device. Use a smart plug for a heater and 3 light for my bathroom all controlled from my flex in my bathroom

Great little addition to the echo family. What I enjoy most about the flex is that I can bring it with me wherever I go enemy on vacation. As long as there is WiFi and a wall socket you are set!

Do not purchase for the speaker. It works well to cover areas where it’s not feasible to put an echo speaker. Do not purchase at full price ($24)

Smallest echo doesn't take up space just Plug it in a electric Socket and you can attach add-ons like clocks night lights and motion sensor

Bought two of these almost 2 years ago on sale for $10 each, and they've definitely done their purposes around the house so far. Also easy to pack them when traveling!! Unfortunately they'd more than doubled on the price now, unlike the other Echo dots!!

If I would have based my decision off the reviews I would have purchased, but I took a chance because the price was outstanding and I’m glad I did! I was amazed at how easy the setup process was and the quality of the sound. I put it in my bathroom

Luv it so much I bought two! One for downstairs bathroom and one for upstairs bathroom to work with my Alexa Show. I don’t have a clock or radio in either bath - so now I can listen to music, news, weather ask Alexa the time when I’m rushing in the mornings.

Perfect for my outside deck. I own two, one in the garage and one on the deck.

Nice and easy to set up. The only issue is volume very low no way to adjust. But overall it does the job

I recently bought the Flex in the hope that it would allow me to have an Echo in a room where space is at a premium. I have a small room where I have my work computer and a monitor. I wanted to keep this computer away from my home computer to have some semblance of a office setting. The problem I had was that this room only had one outlet that was not controlled by a switch and if I put one of my other Echo products on my computer table (n the only place they would fit), it causes feedback with the computer speaker. As my intention for the Echo in this room was to both play music in the background and allow me to hear the news and weather, I figured I would try the Echo Flex despite most reviews stating that the sound was horrible. I figured that the worst that could happen was that I would have to bust out the portable Bluetooth speaker to get better sound. Well I am please to say that despite all the folks saying the volume was too low or that it sound like a old Cellphone speaker, the sound is not that bad. The volume is surprisingly loud for a tiny speaker. At 50% volume, I can easily hear it down the hall even with the room door closed. Music is fine on it if you remember what you are dealing with. If you are looking to listen to music with bass or wanting to have music so clear that you can pick out various little sounds then this is not your speaker. However if you are looking for a speaker that will play music in the background while working or to listen to the news or NPR or the weather then this is a great choice. The Flex has an old school clock radio by the bed vibe, so if you are used to listening to a clock radio throughout the day, this will be fine. This device is small and fits perfectly on a plug on my surge protector. it is out of the way with no cord to fool with. Despite it having less mics then the other Echo models, it picks up voices easy.

Couples with a motion detector it works perfectly to turn the lights on and off in certain rooms of my house. Has a speaker so will play music but of course not the greatest quality since its a tiny speaker. Also great to use if there's a spot in the house where your Alexas might now hear you as easily. Currently, I have one right now in my bathroom connected to my Lifx bulbs and set to turn on my bathroom lights at 40% warm white when I walk in and set to go off when there's 1 minute of no motion. I ordered 4 more off a certain site due to it being on sale from 39.99 to 21.98 for the Flex and the motion detector attachment and will use them in other bathrooms, bedroom and gameroom. Highly recommended

Does it’s job. I have it plugged in the bedroom wall outlet, which is down low. Sometimes I have to yell if audio is playing, but it’s to be expected. I have it connected to a Bluetooth speaker, which I think is the best way to utilize this product unless your using it somewhere you don’t play audio. NOTE if using a Bluetooth speaker with a built-in mic, Alexa might not be available through your speaker. This is only important if you move your connected Bluetooth speaker to another room. I take mine from the bedroom to the bathroom when I shower. If I need to access Alexa, I have to yell into the bedroom. I’m using this on my Sony - SRS-XB32 Portable Bluetooth Speaker, I haven’t connected to any other Bluetooth device with a mic, so I’m not sure if this is the case for all speakers. Just wanted to give you a heads up, it might not work. In this case, I’m moving the Flex into the bathroom to be near the connected Bluetooth speaker, and I’m adding an Echo Studio or Echo Plus to the bedroom to replace the Flex. All in all, the Flex is a great product.

I enjoy using the echo flex. It is nice to be able to have an Alexa device where you do not have a counter top (and at an affordable price). Easy to use, just need an outlet. We have also used this along with the motion detector that plugs into it to control other Alexa enabled devices (through triggered routines) like lights and plugs. I have also used it to have my other Echoes wish my wife a happy birthday or give her a compliment when she walks by the echo flex. There are a lot of options when using it with the motion sensor and routines. Overall, this a fun gadget and provides flexibility and options for an Echo/Alexa-enabled device.

For my purpose, to use in the basement laundry room, it's PERFECT! Living in a 3 story house it makes it easy for the family to communicate easily, at any time using the ANNOUNCEMENT feature on our Alexa and Echo devices! This was perfect because we don't need high quality sound or quality for this to do the job we need it to do. Added another to the garage for the same reason! GREAT for those spaces where you just need to do a SHOUT OUT to your family!

I'm surprised there isn't more media attention given to this device (seems most tech blogs only talk about the Echo Dot), but I consider the Echo Flex really a genius idea. It's incredibly compact, and will simply plug into any outlet. Yet it features the full functionality of a more expensive Echo device. The main downfall is its smaller speaker, which is mainly suitable for listening to the news and weather; I've used it for music, and I think it's just passable. However, you can also link it to a Bluetooth speaker (in my case, I have it linked to a soundbar) -- then the Flex will automatically connect to the speakers when you turn on the latter, without further extra pairing procedures. The 2 microphones on the Flex is also a minor negative -- it can sometimes have a hard time hearing you especially when the speakers are loud, compared to a Echo Dot. However, the Flex isn't really meant to be a budget Dot -- it's best as a secondary device (e.g., upstairs hallway with your main Echo device on the first floor, in a kitchen where you don't want something taking up counter space, or a garage). For its unobtrusiveness and simplicity, I think a Flex device is an easy compliment to any smart home.
