My daughter loves this kindle which was an upgrade for her from the 3rd generation I previously gave her. With this one, she has more storage and the camera and video capabilities are a plus which she didn't have before. She loves to read from her kindle which is a plus for both of us. Also the colored backing on the kindle makes it extra special. I love that I can control all she does on it through my Amazon account and parental controls. It has been the perfect tablet for her and I get to use the older version which is just fine.

No instructions come with this device and if you are not tech savvy it can be tough. My wife has had to call amazon twice for help and it still is not set up. It may be going back if we can't get it set up soon

I currently own the HDX 7 and I love it. So I decided to buy this new model for my son. It works fine so far, It looks as good as the HDX7 and there is a little of lag some times, but talking in consideration the processor downgrade, I guess it is fine. The ony thing that I don't like is that the audio goes away from the devise after using a Bluetooth device as well as sometimes after using headphones. It is the same issue with the HDX7, so I am hopping that Amazon will fix that any time soon. The other disappointment is the sound, it is extremely noticeable the downgrade in the HD 6 version. Other than that it is a very good choice for an affordable tablet and I don't think that you will find anything better at this price point.

I like the quality of picture and sound of this device. Surfing the web is much faster than before on the original. I am disappointed that when I open the device from sleep mode I am immediately faced with an advertisement for an app. I called Amazon to see about how to turn this feature off and I was told they could stop it for a fee of $19.99. I am furious to point of returning the device! I guess Amazon figures if they are not going to get money from advertiser through me then they will charge me directly.
