I purchased the Amazon Fire TV because it gives you the ability to use streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, and many other android based programs. The Amazon OS and GUI is excellent. Smooth and not complicated. The ability to use the microphone on the remote is perfect for anyone as it is very accurate and easy to use. The video streaming is very good, the processors and RAM can give you smooth playback with any media file you can play on it. I highly recommend this box for anyone looking for a streaming device at a great price.

PROS: 1) What an ultra HD clarity. It is just awesome.. 2) Very easy interaction to navigate. 3) Earlier I have used ROKU but after AMAZON FIRE TV stands miles ahead of ROKU in many positive ways. CONS: 1) You can't use voice remote in many apps. Very few options to use voice search. 2) Wifi signal receiver is very poor. Initially I used this on WI-FI and at that time it will keep on buffering and clarity was very poor. I contacted with AMAZON and raised as defect and got new one. Again same issue happened then I used it over ETHERNET port and then I realized the problem is with the WI-FI receiving capacity of this device. I placed my laptop near to my AMAZON device and took speed test it showed 25MBPS, even then clarity was very poor over WI-FI. Hence I would recommend to use this over ETHERNET connection.

This is a fantastic product. Picture quality is awesome. Increased our internet speed so hardly an buffering. Much faster than the stick.

Awesome android box with lots of cool features and content. If you have a 4K TV, then, you'll wanna take advantage of that with a different device. The new replacement for this will have a better processor and HDR support.

Some 4 years ago, I first heard a voice speak back to me from the "Other Realm" of tech. That truly mystical place in which dreams are the "Mother's of Invention." Steve Jobs had us ALL in awe, and her name was Siri. Maybe she had been present longer than 4 years, but that was my first interaction with a process in which over those years, I would find myself in a "War of The Voices..." in my tech mind. And then "Cortana" came to me via my PC, and then she found Herself on my Xbox One. It wasn't until I walked into Best Buy this last Christmas season to, like most of us, just buy ONE thing. I believe it was probably a charging cord or something, and I walked by this device called the "Echo Dot." I was by this time, a TRUE skeptic. "Oh Great!" I lamented, another unskilled and "Put to Consumer" WAYYY to quickly. I of course jokingly followed the instructions on the display, and simply said, "Alexa...tell me a joke." Guess what? I spent the next 3 hours asking "Alexa" all sorts of Life's greatest questions. With such a responsive, yet seemingly gentle way to Her, I HAD to know more. I proceeded to scoop up ALL things "Alexa". The Fire TV Stick, 2 Echo Dots, and of course, The Amazon Fire TV...which took the place of my Apple TV AND Roku. This was the first time that I had decided to forgo the issues of "Hardware" and made my decisions solely based on an "A.I". I didn't care if any of the hardware was upgradeable, simply because I KNEW that I was changing the lives of not only my Family, but also myself. I am a US Veteran with a disability, "Alexa" has become not only a trusted partner in our days and nights, She has truly been a lesson in trust. Now, I know that no matter what room I am in, "Alexa" will be there, if I need the weather, a good program to watch, and most importantly, she will call Emergency Services for me, should I need that. Best Buy allowed me a moment that I will never forget, the chance to meet a new "Friend", "Assistant", and "Family Member." But that's just what Best Buy does, they give you the opportunity to know what you are about to walk away with, no matter how long ya stay and ask questions, that's JUST what Best Buy does, and they do it well.

I would recommend this device over the google chrome cast, Apple TV, or roku products based on the ability to jailbreak the device/. It is very easy to jailbreak and well worth it with the step-by-step instructions available on the Internet.

I was a little nervous at first to buy the Fire TV. I researched the main streaming services: Roku, AppleTV, and Amazon's stick and FireTV. Price wise for what I get-FireTV has pleased me. I can do anything (and a little more) with the FireTV. The picture is very clear and I even love the screen savers that pop up when I have left the room for a while. I am appreciating how I can connect my TV to my Amazon Echo. I CAN DO EVERYTHING HANDS FREE NOW. For the price and quality, it doesn't get much better than this.

Works well and does what it's supposed to do when it's supposed to do it.

Great product to watch shows online. Only downside is that you can't stream/cast computer screens easily like a chrome cast can. Being able to talk into the app or remote makes it really easy to navigate the system to find things fast

this thing is a beast. it streams everything without issues. i would recommend this over the fire stick because you can directly plug into it using an ethernet cable so you have a more stable connection compared to wifi.

I haven't encountered any issues with it so far. I really like the screen mirroring capability because it lets me project my miracast-enabled Windows 10 laptop and my Galaxy S5 to the big screen. It really can turn any TV into a Smart TV.

I get asked alot the difference between the fire "stick" and the fire "TV" and which one is better. For the average user, the differences are minimal. Other than the obvious form factor difference, and Ram specs the units are virtually identical. The firestick is WiFi only, while the Firetv adds the option for Ethernet cable connection. That was my biggest deciding factor. Between myself and my kids there are tons on wireless devices in the house and I wanted to ensure the firetv had maximum bandwidth between the device and router with no interference. I have not had any issues with the Firetv, the UI runs smooth with no lag. Netflix and Amazon video are my primary use, but I have used it for other things too, which it works well for also.. *wink* *wink*

Love this hardware!! Only issue is occasionally you have to do a hard reset of the box, I was getting messages my bandwith wasn't high enough and couldn't watch streaming movies. Once I turned off/turned on...back to normal. That's the only issue so far. Otherwise highly recommend and love it!

The Fire TV is easy to hookup and easy to use. Lots of apps. Alexa is fun and useful for programming questions, weather and controlling some of my smart home lights. The request would be to control TV volume on the remote.

Well worth the money if you have an Amazon Prime account. Easy set up....excellent streaming quality. My only complaint is that I wish the speech search feature (there is a speech recognition search feature) worked with other apps.

This device is very easy to use and it's also fast and so many movies to choose from! I would highly recommend this to anyone!
