After using a FireStick for so long, I am absolutely thrilled with the performance of my Cube. It's more stable when streaming, incredibly fast on downloads, more memory, and Alexa integration is awesome. I would recommend this device to anyone looking for a enjoyable streaming experience!

THE POSITIVES: it's fast, reliable, has more storage than the stick versions and has a built in echo dot which allows for hands free control. I've paired it with a couple of echo premium's and the sound is great for a bedroom setup. It also has the option to connect via WiFi or Ethernet. The cube itself is small so the footprint is minimal which minimizes any possible obstruction or distraction from the TV. THE NEGATIVES: Although it plays well with almost all streaming services the 1 major exception is Apple TV. I've had zero luck getting Apple TV to play on the cube. I researched solutions endlessly and only found that this is a pretty common problem. I've tried every possible troubleshooting avenue and nothing works. I've communicated with Amazon and after many failed attempts they passed me along to Apple, which is nonexistent support for the TV app. I have a 4k streaming stick and it plays Apple TV with no issues which makes this even more frustrating since the cube is over double the price! Which leads to the 2nd negative. What you get for the higher price is: double the storage, built in echo dot, built in Ethernet capability, and the ability to pair with Amazon speakers for a home theater setup. Although this feature is available in the 4k stick and the lite stick, it's been my experience that these options don't work very well (dropped audio, static, etc.). If the additional features appeal to you then the price is justified. Although I'm overall happy with the product the price could be better.

This is as fast and as good as any Streaming device out there, I've tested the new shield Pro and other devices, this one is just as fast, the main thing I like is I love the Alexa/Amazon setup, the only thing you can't do with it is, it will play 4K Movies & Shows as will the 4K FS, but only on Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and other places, but it won't play the bigger 4K files or the biggest ones you can using Real Debrid on Cyberflix and other apks and on Emby and Plex servers, those 4K files are too big, for some reason only the Shield Will play those properly with the internet speed of over 100, otherwise your set to do anything you want on this device, get a good memory stick if you need more storage, It's my main device, 1080p is just fine for me and most 4K.

This has been my go to device for entertainment since I purchased it. I do have cable TV via COMCAST, but the wife and I seem to spend more time using our Amazon Prime or some of the other online TV and Movie sites. Very easy to use. I also installed KODI on this for our huge video collection we have. This box is pretty fast which I like, my last FIRE TV 2nd Gen Box was getting old and sluggish. Thinking about eventually purchasing the NVIDIA SHIELD and giving that a look-see.

Overall, the fire cube has been a great device to use. I have it paired with 2 echo studio speakers, and that has been the problematic aspect. For the most part, the pairing has worked out fine. However, about 15% of the time, the fire does not communicate with the echo's very well. Additionally, as the sound is going through this device, there is no way to send the TV antenna over the air sound to the Fire to use the echo studios. I've also had issues getting the device to play after the screen saver has stopped. The play button doesn't work. You have to use the video forward/reverse to get the screen back, and then the play button will work. The interface is a bit clumsy to use. The latest update allows you to customize the main view, but i've yet to learn the ins and outs. Overall, its a good device with some correctable flaws.

    • Plenty of choices for steaming 4k (make sure your TV can be built for that resolution). I mainly use Netflix, but you have Prime and thousands of more apps with this little guy. Have to admit it’s a pretty large library (that also has simple games to play). • My TV is built to play 4k, and I found no difference in quality if I put in a Blu-ray disk instead. • I’m getting a pretty immersive experience. 60 fps with HDR10 support and Dolby Atmosphere for audiophiles. • The Cube is pretty fast as well. The response time is very efficient when you’re asking simple questions/commands. I have to assume that because of the Cube software, it doesn’t need to rely on Amazon’s servers. • Have to give props on the microphone inside this machine. Even at the movie volume level, saying Alexa, will pick up your voice. I haven’t tested this out if you’re in a room full of loud people, but I assume you’ll get the same results. • I felt to have more use of using my voice than with a controller with this one. One example, I can tell Alexa which way to scroll and to open an app (Netflix for me) that I want to watch and Alexa follows that flawlessly. The voice recognition is more of a tool than a little side perk in this Cube. • It’s a smart home device, so you ask the Cube to turn on almost anything that is connected to a smart plugin. I found this great to use to just turn on the TV. No remote required. • The YouTube experience is also right on point. I’ve read that the past Fire TV Cubes from Amazon didn’t have a YouTube app. Well, this one does have it and it works without issue. I found this better if you already have a list of videos in your “Watch List” as searching will take time since you have no keyboard. What I do is I use my smartphone to quickly add the videos I want to my watch list and then refresh the YouTube page on the Cube. Simple and quick. • A very lively interface. It’s not complex and the simple guidelines it provides you make this ready to use right out of the box. • It does have an Ethernet adapter. I strongly recommend you use this. My Wi-Fi tends to disconnect at random times and an Ethernet connector prevents this from happening. • The remote that it comes with has a nice “clicky” touch and an excellent touchpad. The voice layout works well enough that I use the remote only to explore new apps on the Cube, or type. • When you start digging around with the Cube, some great features pop up. One is when you move your cursor over to a live channel (If you have “On Now”) it gives you a preview of what is happening on that channel. Similar to when you go on YouTube and move your move over to a video. Very efficient and something I had to make a pro for. • The setup took less than 3 minutes. The Cube identified my Samsung the moment it was connected. • If you have an Amazon Echo, then it’s exactly that but merged with a Fire TV Stick. This means, besides the simple weather questions, you can ask for directions to the closest restaurants and so forth. I live in a location where fast food restaurants are the lay of the land, but I can see this to be helpful for those who live deep in a city. • The microphone is set up in the Cube, and not the remote. You won’t have to worry if you lose the remote. • Amazon is not kidding. Ten of thousands of channels you can search through. I have to believe that Amazon has a channel for every person.

We jumped on the streaming train in fall 2019 and could not be happier to be away from cable. We already have a number of Amazon devices in our home so this was an easy choice. Interface is great and the processor is lightning fast. Voice control opens apps well but it does have problems with multiple commands, like open Youtube TV to NBC. I wish they has put a small digital clock option on the front. The time showing on my cable box is the ONLY part I miss about Spectrum! Buy this, you'll love it.

After much research I finally elected to buy this gizmo and I'm so happy I did. We bought a Smart TV when they first came out but it just wasn't cutting it with only 1 gb of memory and shows kept getting hung up. But this little cube does the trick and was so easy to install. It has it's own Alexa voice setting but also works with Alexa on my Echo Tower close by. They don't fight each other. I was easily able to add Netflix, Prime, and other apps to the queue and the playback is perfect. The remote that comes with it works well and sometimes I prefer it to the voice controls as saying the right words to get Alexa to move can be tricky until you figure it out. Like, "Alexa, switch to cable", not "Alexa, go to cable." After trial and error we found we did need to use the IR Extender Cable to do the Home to Cable switch. That might be because of my Xfinity Cable service. I also boujght the Sideclick Universal Remote attachment as suggested to further add capability to the Cube remote and only have one controller. Howerver after sever attempts my research showed it probably wasn't compatible with my Xfinity service or it was defective. I returned it with no problem and stopped there. But I truly do Love my Cube and highly recommend it.

Had been using the 4K fire sticks but was getting to much buffering. I added external memory to them but the buffering kept on. Because the sticks have about 8 gigs of memory, it left little room for swapping of the information so I tried a Fire cube because of the 16 gigs of storage. I went ahead and added the external memory for the side loads and wow, the picture is so much better, got rid of probably 99% of buffering problems and have since bought another one. Well worth the difference and all I’ll get is a Fire cube from now on.

If you like streaming & trust hands free voice use this is the move to make! Holds more memory than stick responds quickly and while may take some getting use to its a change to simplicity. Like voice commands , notices to update apps or Amazon deliveries & orders. Also interacts/interfaces with a variety of other devices. The remote is still the little one with mic for voice commands as simpler navigator. Does get to know your preferences makes for ease of use. Practice to perfect.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is an incredibly useful piece of technology! A few months ago, my girlfriend and I temporarily moved into an apartment after selling our house. The apartment had light switches in every room, however, only the kitchen and dining room had lights controlled by those switches. After purchasing the Amazon Fire TV Cube, along with a couple Amazon FireSticks, a new 65” Samsung TV with Alexa compatibility, and devices that plug into our electrical sockets, which we then plug our devises into (Lamps, TV’s, Fans, Speakers, etc..), we are able to control any light, lamp, tv or accessory that is plugged in to one of the Alexa-Compatible outlets from anywhere in the house. If you are near the cube, you only need to say “Hey Alexa-*your command*”. And if you are watching TV, all you need to do is click the microphone button on the remote, and do the same. My Samsung Smart TV had the Alexa feature built-in, so once I logged into my amazon account, I said “Alexa, turn off the living room lights.”-They turned off the first time, without having to even add the electrical socket device to the TV because it was already linked to the Amazon account, itself. Would definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazon has finally delivered on their promise to make voice recognition work with Fire TV. Previous versions of the Fire TV were ok, but never worked properly for voice control. With the cube, it not only recognizes voice control, but also figures out what other devices are connected to the media wall -- a REALLY handy feature! Now we can just tell it to turn the tv on or off, find a specific channel, and more. So much better than previous versions. We don't even need the remote. The trick it figuring out what phrases to use to get Alexa to work properly. Once you have that, you're good to go. We've already installed two of these, and love them.

I have several tv firesticks and an older firetv box but this firetv cube is awesome!!! It runs alot faster than my older firetv box and the extra 8gb of storage makes a difference. The only thing I did not like is amazon added the newer style remote after I purchased mine but when I bought my tv cube it was on sale and I also had a $15 reward so I'm still happy....

I had to purchase this to replace my Fire TV, that is no longer sold and I'm guessing this is the replacement for it. I'm not the biggest fan of the cube design and having it basically another smart speaker, but it does offer more storage and faster in general. I did not need an extra smart speaker in the living room, since I have an Echo and a Google one. Anyway, no issues as of yet, hopefully this one will not just stop working one day like the previous model did.

Best streamer for the money, especially if you are a Prime member. This also has a speaker in it so it functions like an echo. My favorite thing is this is faster than those stick streamers. No getting bogged down menus. Also, voice command works without the remote. “Echo, play Ducktales on Disney+!” Boom, it’s playing. Get this thing!
