This e-reader is almost perfect. Paperweight screen looks more white and does not require external light. But for the price I bought those - and this is 5th I bought - all my family members have one now - it is just unbeatable.

We bought this for our 3rd grader for Christmas and were looking for a basic reader without any games or other apps. It was pretty easy to set up and start using. It would have been great if it had a backlight but we didn't want to spend the extra to get all the bells and whistles. So far we've been very pleased with it.

The best solution for outdoor glare problems for most tablets. You will spend more than this basic Kindle costs in time and money fooling around and being disappointed by trying filters and protectors. The more sun the better. Indoors low light, dusk, night, use your tablet.

It won't search the Internet for cat videos, update your Facebook, or play Candy Crush, but month-long battery life and a display that can be read in bright sun make the Kindle the best reader for the money.

This Kindle is a replacement for an older model of the Kindle Touch. The screen on this model is easier to read and responsive. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have audio capabilities like my old Kindle did. I wanted just a reader and this fit the bill.

It's not bad for this price. Easy to use, the battery has a good life and it's very light. The system could use some improvements but overall it's a good deal.

I bought the kindle for my mother on Mother's day. She is technologically challenged, but is able to use it with ease. It works perfect indoors and outdoors and she is able to take it where ever she wants. Had it for about two months now and no complaints so far.

I purchased the kindle for my daughter (age 25) for Christmas . She loves it. The quick and easy access to books and periodicals as well as the compact size and portability of the kindle are great for her. She travels a lot. Perfect solution for her.

Great for reading when sitting in the metro or on long train/bus rides when you either run out of data or don't have access to it. Plus you can load school related books on it so you can actually read something productive instead of just fiction.

I was looking for a basic Kindle because I am an avid reader. This was the perfect choice! One thing to keep in mind though is if you plan on reading at night or in a dimly lit area, consider upgrading to the "paperwhite" version. With either one, you can not go wrong!

I love my kindle. The one thing I would change is the addition of a backlight so that I can read without having to turn the lamp on. All other settings and features are top notch and the product is really a bargain. I would certainly recommend this product to any avid reader.

Can't be happier. Couldn't beat the price. I love the ease of use. The touch is the easiest Kindle to use. I like the simplicity of the look without having any buttons to worry about. Page turning is simple.

My brother bought this to read and its almost like reading from an actual book. This particular model does not have back light so you can't use it in the dark. You would need your light on. Overall, basic and compact.

The Kindle 6 inch glare free is a great deal for $79. It gives you the flexibility to go outside and bring that great book with you. We are using them all the time!

Not only does it make book shopping easy and inexpensive, it also has an easy to read screen, and the adjustable print size makes it relaxing for aging eyes, especially after spending the workday staring at a computer screen.

This is my eighth Kindle. I love using it, but the screen is extremely fragile, subject to fracture at the slightest pressure. I suppose Amazon, its maker, welcomes the replacement sales. Marketing 101.

Eden I was looking for a gift for a graduating senior I didn't know where to start, then he mother mentioned that she loved to read... But didn't have a kindle or any kind of e-reader. She was over the moon when she opened her gift.

i bought this as a gift for my girl friend and she loves it. She loves reading books and now she can carry this instead of having to carry heavy books every now and then.

The size is great for throwing in my purse or backpack. Easy to use. I wish I had spent more time researching because you can't read on it in the dark. It would have been perfect if it had a mode that changed the background to black and the font to white so you could read without turning a light on at night.
